I was on a 64 but it only had about 18ish players on, there was people all over in electro, I hate spawning there maybe bias from being on the east coast so much, they are working on respawning loot think sometime in the next 2 patches (forget where I saw this) Still can't start a campfire, I was sad. -
The Dev's looked into some of the systems you suggested and even the people who suggested the systems thought they where too exploitable, which is how the current system got implemented, I understand that once in a blue moon something like what happened to you will happen, in my case the server restarted when I was in the middle of a zombie filled town upon login my char glitched and refused to run while I was trying to raise and lower weapons to get something to happen I was mauled to death by several zombies. Bad luck, time after that someone blew my knees out which a shotty, time before that I glitched thru a wall and fell to my death. What I'm trying to say is that unfortunate things happen, sometimes things go in your favor, sometimes not. But isolated events shouldn't be the basis for a large scale redesign that will create more issues by adding exploitable systems.

Neutral safe zones that physically prevent combat

As someone who generally plays alone, I can understand what your getting at, I personally don't like the idea a single bit, in creating a safe zone you will have every KoSer with a rifle, 600 rounds and a tent setting up camp, they won't be there to loot you the sole purpose is easy kills. You'll also have every bandit setting up shop and robbing every soul that tries to enter/exit the safe zone, no gear better then free gear right? You'll be creating a spot that is a magnet for the very people who are annoying the hell out of you. Every now and then I shoulder my rifle check my supplies and take a casual stroll thru the northen lands where people have no reason to go other then get away for a while, the draw of interaction brings me back to the population after my break, usually followed by death. It happens if you really want to trade with people, make some friends here, have a group of you meet together on a nearly empty server and congratulate yourselves on how nice you all look fully geared up you'll soon realize that without death looming over you the game feels a bit empty, then for fun someone will turn and start shooting. you are dead. -

How well have the Anti server hopping measures worked out? When they where first implemented there was much weeping and gnashing of teeth. Yesterday I ventured to the NWAF and using my usual angle of approach I scouted carefully laying prone watching for movement, checking the ATC I move carefully looking behind me even though there was infected everywhere can never be too careful. I hit the barracks and low and behold already looted, no infected around the back so it's conceivable that they entered quietly looted and left, I wasn't mad I was only looking to a Mosin scope and a bit of ammo, I exited and paused for another look about being sure to check the ATC... blah blah check the ATC, everything is looted and infected around blah blah everything was looted but there was some infected around in front of the hanger's, when I entered the fire house from the rear and moved across the door I checked the two infected standing near the ATC entrance. Good my "guard's" hadn't moved, the shelves in the fire station contained crap I glanced over them and moved up the stairs, check the ATC. Well would you look at that, some guy is running about as fast as possible checking all the shelves and loot spawns. I un-shoulder my Mosin and watch this guy the second he pauses, Boom he's down... I ditch my search to check him for loot, I pull my pistol and run straight over, the infected howl and give chase, idgaf and put them down dashing to the stairs, I pause and move carefully to the body, 20ish ruined cans of soda a PU scope (ruined) at least his magnum was still in good shape. While checking him I hear the distinct reload sound of someone logging back in I unload a couple of rounds into his crotch just to be sure, as I left I looked back to check the ATC, there was a fountain of blood down the wall marking this unknown's body... People are still hopping is my guess I'm just glad I cost this guy the time to get there and however many hops he'd made. also first hardcore kill.

*request to CCSD for investigation* On the 11th of Feb on unknown us east hardcore server, an estimated 3 hours after restart at approximately 14:00 hours. While trekking north along a road through the black forest, around co-ordinates (092, 073) (092,074) Writer encountered a horde of infected an estimated 6-8 came running from multiple directions in the forest. Possible basic grouping behavior suspected, the infection in late stage may be allowing infected to identify each other unifying to find food. Grouping appeared to be random with a variety of subject male, female civilian and military. Population in nearby towns appeared normal.

I've gone in depth on this subject before, but the gist of it is, they want to advertise to a community but doing it directly would result in post's removed and ban's. Instead they start thread's claiming there is hackers everywhere, the basis being that if members of the community believe there is a lot of people hacking they rationalise it in their mind to something akin to "levelling the playing field" and thus the sellers of these hacks are able to subtly sell their product and bring in new customers, They need new one's to replace the people banned in the last wave who are like that was dumb now I have to buy the game again. Why to you think companies pay millions to have people use their product's in movies and T.V show's hell even in music video's you'll see Iphone's and Samsungs getting in on the action.

food and clothing spawns should be increased dramitically

I've found that the food goes a lot further since the last rework, not a great deal is required to survive and while I need to travel great distances before I become full, energized and healthy, I've found starting is less about grab a bag of food and head for the guns, I'm having to work a bit to keep myself fed unless I get lucky and the server is full of coast hugger's, then I'm only eating half the can and tossing it al la Ron Burgundy style. -
I don't know what you would mean by "Common by the day" but I work a relatively boring job and first logged into the forums this morning 13 hours before this post, I've been lurking there for the entire time. this is the first post I've seen on the subject in some time.

I can note from extensive travel in the region that Ostry- No know infected in region and hillsides. Klen- No known infected, South, West quarter, unexplored. These observations where done casually and where done in a general manner, not looking for anything specific. A more extensive examination will be required, but passing through and exploring the area's has resulted in no encounters. -

In I think it's 137 hours of play I've never seen any hackers, I think people posting and insisting that hackers are every where are just trying to convince the community to buy hacks. The thing about this is the people selling then don't give a shiz about the players once they have their money, next ban wave rolls in and these kids with a now $60 investment are out of pocket forced to pay another $30 to buy the game again so all up $90 yeah I love seeing them pay for their stupidity. Can't wait till beta when the price goes up!!

Yeah these things happen, as Frosti said next ban wave will kick them in the nuts and the forums will have people claiming all sorts of reasons why they didn't deserve a ban, I love watching them cry, it's like a mini xmas.

I've seen this thread pop on and off the front page, I've ignored it because having a system I think is a bit stupid but, other people are of the opinion that it's something they feel would add to the game or at least let them decide if this person on the other side of the LRS should die. "And what are you dressed as?" "A serial killer because they look just like everybody else" Having direct chat in game function the way normal conversation would add an element of social skill's, how charming can you be? can you pick out behavior that you feel is untrustworthy? How much do you trust your judgment? can you handle stress well? do you remain calm under pressure? can you lie well? These are all element's of the game that would be instantly eliminated once people have a visual identifier, to me the loss would be sorely missed and would be the removal of a very important and unique part of the game, shit after that's gone might as well go play battlefield. What's being suggested would remove a large portion of the social aspect of the game and leave only the shell that every MMO out already has and provides. The loss in uniqueness would mean that dayz would lose something and gain nothing. You already have the methods of deciding if a person is a bandit or if they are a hero, whos fault is it if someone successfully deceives you? At very least should they decide to implement this system I'd much prefer they limit it to "regular" or maybe rename them to "pussy pussy bitch bitch" -

There is 2-3 zombies that haunt that area, I know because thru there is my favorite angle of approach to NWAF, granting a favorable scouting position of the area in a low traffic location. -
Interesting, I encountered it north of the T junction near stated co-ordinates... more scouting throughout Black forest required... stupid being at work...

I'ma start by saying this is a half baked poorly thought out post, haven't thought it thru entirely.... I've noticed that loot spawning is somewhat random. in that a building with say 10 spawn locations will only spawn items in 6 of those locations (unconfirmed) with the variety of loot that spawns in locations across the map. Once weapons become rare spawning items, then server hopping won't be particularly viable. For example each server can only spawn ONE M4 at a time, the cool down before it spawns again might be an hour, add in all the locations an M4 can spawn there's a bunch of the outpost's around they spawn in the schools/tech/whatever the fuck building's there are so many place's they can currently spawn that if the numbers where slashed like that it would be so unlikely and time consuming to server hop to get one that people would be like fuck this shit. Not only that but anyone who had one would be marked for death by anyone that saw them, while this does nothing for it now I can see things getting very interesting and paraniod in the future.

This isn't specifically aimed at you so please don't take offense, I'm speaking in general terms and in my opinion of sections of the community. Loot respawn won't affect server hopping, particularly as Dean has said high grade weapons will decrease in spawn as more improvised weapons get introduced. I guess my biggest problem with server hopper's is that they want the reward without any work, the only thing they need to do is click a few buttons wait 5 mins and they might get lucky it's like a free lottery that they'll eventually win. I feel these people are the one's likely to go back and start shooting beginners and poorly armed players, in a twist of irony they will say anything to prevent a direct encounter but then stalk and try to shoot you in the back and before the timers they'd log if it didn't go their way. There's something about a person who behaves like this that innately annoys me I like shooting them and forcing them back to the start, Mostly because I've restarted more times then I can count, but I take comfort in that they are probably yelling and cussing about it, much like a post I saw today on the forums. They are in my opinion the people who complain when things are broken which right now is all the time, squealing when they glitch thru a wall and die, whatever else they have to moan about. They don't listen when given advice and refuse to even consider another person's opinion. To me server hopping is a symptom of a type of person that I enjoy killing because they are only the tough guys when they have the upper hand.
