One thing I don't get, where you got all these alleged "Promises and excitement was what we got." I'm of the thinking that you got excited and decided that you where promised something that was not promised to anyone, or as rocket put it.

He gave us 10 month's warning, and said he will stay longer if the project still need's him, this isn't like he went to get some smoke's late last night. I also don't see why I'd be biased either way as far as his studio is concerned, being that he hasn't announced a single title or idea that he's thinking about working on I don't know if anything he's going to make will interest me. I'm not one to rabidly follow a particular studio, that sort of thing just leads to disappointment which leads to fear, which lead's to anger, which lead's to suffering, next thing I'm chopping off my kid's hand with a light saber.

Unless everyone who is joining knows it's a trap but you can't set a trap without weapons or resources to survive while waiting for the trap to spring, so everyone see's the perfect opportunity to obtain swag. All they are waiting for is a time and place to acquire said goodies. DayZ paranoia in full swing, and I'm not even playing, this game will destroy lives. -
Do you play Experimental version or Regular, and why?

Experimental, Mostly because I like messing about with the new stuff, nothing like carrying a bag full of rocks, wood and matches to find that fire still isn't in the game or placing the gas cooker, with a pot and trying to put stuff in to see if any of that works... which it doesn't. I also feel experimental has less guns and less douchebags (coincidence?) Plus it's nice to see everything as it come's through except for that magnum reload sound bug. Also I can play for a while and when I have down time cruise thru the bug tracker and see what other people have reported and write any that are missing. I get warm fuzzies for contributing to development. -

There is a bunch of spots in the north that are already laid out for towns to be placed in them, I guess it comes from it taking time to build them. -

Yeah You just pretty much described what is going to happen to the game over the course of development, gun's will become more and more rare as improvised weapons get introduced.

No water in that lake currently, I will say that the settlement would need to be closer to the pass, as the upper left corner appears to have building's already planned in, it's been a while since I've been up that way. there is also the layout for several towns in the north (walk the norther road/train tracks and you'll see them) there is an area directly north of Svelto as well which look's rather nice, might be a bit close to civilization tho. But walk the far northern roads and there is several places that look ideal for setting up a quite base. -

I'm not sure what he ment by a flawed concept, I'm of the opinion that unless Dean drop's in and explains that in full detail then we are going to have to speculate, which is exactly what most are doing hence this thread. I'm of the thought's that he intended to have this as a survival simulation, with the game being weighted towards the stay alive aspect more then the gun's and KoS and the like. In saying that I like the current direction of the game but I feel the initial Alpha got a lot of people into the game that wouldn't have bought it typically if they had comprehended what the actual goal of the game was. But as I've said, I can only guess at what Deans vision for the finished product is. I was also disappointed to hear the new's but and can only hope that BI hold's to the plan, but my experience with these thing's is the company will do whatever will make/save the most money. Which always annoys me.

Respawning loot is something I'm not overly concerned about, having the Z's respawn is great but I like anything that adds to the challenge of the game, yeah bit wall of text, but I got through it cos I really wanted to hear the story. -

Never when you're running thru the country side doing nothing, I swear it's like they are psychic. Closest I get to rage quitting is when I die and I'm just like "ahh fuck" and stop playing for a while, but that's if I've been playing or ages and need a break anyway.

Been experiencing similar thing's on the experimental, I was in Berezino at 16:30 hrs (server time) and there was still loot about, then I get jumped by 3 infected. I thought what the hell there shouldn't be anything around here as the server restarts to 12:00 hrs, there was still occasional items of food an clothing which I thought was weird I as this would have been looted out forever ago. Shortly server restarted and it reset to 08:00 hrs. mind blown, are they testing respawning loot and infected? In commentary to your experience's at NWAF it could simply be the person going before you was looking for something very specific, I know I have in the past "looted" NWAF but was only looking for a LRS so all the doors would be open but no loot taken. I was there when the server had just restarted so I wanted to get the hell out before players started showing up, so I didn't particularly concern myself with clearing the infected just ran like hell through and only killed any that presented an issue. -

Ah so, this morning on the general forum's an interview was posted where Dean said that you will get better at doing thing's if you do them repeatedly, also this "skill" can get wiped from your brain with a 7.62 round, so.... stay safe, stay alive. Repair System - will be possible to recover damaged and ruined items. It will be a SKILL that is acquired with practice. Unfortunately your thinking a little off and they want to keep it on experimental for between 1-2 week's (tweet from hick_206) after they got stung releasing the current stable a bit early and it was buggier then they would have liked, I can say the current experimental runs a lot smoother.

Didn't your mother ever tell you if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all? It's not like they are stopping all development to put animals in, god damn I'm sick if this whole "the devs can only do one thing at a time" mentality. What the hell? Back on topic, being that I just read about them, I haven't thought a great deal about it, but it will be nice to have other predators then man and infected man, having the occasional bear rip your face off would be interesting and defiantly add to the game and a serious rethink of the lone wolf tactics I'm employing (run to woods, eat berries) I'd never thought as far as having a nice bearskin rug to keep me warm and dry thru the cold night's the bones could be used as improvised weapons bone arrow heads anyone? Today has had a few twist's for me so it's getting exciting hope all works out as intended. -

Really cos I love those bags, and once you have vest shirt blah blah, the improvised backpack is sufficient for all my need's and really I don't need to be carrying 2 pistols, way too much ammo for the Mosin and SKS, bipod you get the drift.

How much of the map have you explored?

At want point do you divulge your secrets and tell everyone about the secret places you go to find loot because there is a 95% chance it hasn't been looted even on a full server? edit: Also I'd love to watch a map of player movements on a full server over 2-3 hours from a restart.
