    L4D allows FF, heh. At least you should welcome a suggestion that doesn't penalize directly any way of playing.

    Most players want that or at least some of us are very vocal about it. If Arma2 engine would suck a bit less combat wise perhaps there wouldn't be so many complaints.

    I probably didn't explained it too well but it's rather simple. A friendly enabled player can't damage other friendlies, period. Normal players can damage anyone. So you go somewhere, friendly enabled or not, and you may find a bullet to the head same as now. There shouldn't be confusions about who is who since both states are tied to a skin. This system just helps people who don't want to shoot on sight, or at least don't want to do it continuously. When you spot another friendly there's possible any interactions because both players know the encounter won't end in boom headshot! All of this however doesn't mean the world isn't cruel, other players only want to pretend, ambushes etc, etc.

    I'm gonna call Fox news if you continue associating simple game actions with terms like 'immoral', 'murder', etc ^^ Really? Distrust is actually the easiest thing to implement, or do you trust strangers by default? The thing with TWD is I really don't know why survivors are that belligerent. Well, writers like drama as flies like shit. In real world, big disasters make people help each other most of the time. I guess it has to do with our conscience, we have to live with whatever we have done. So that's why I don't call game actions a murder, any virtual world action is insignificant except when money or unusual factors get involved. Basically, something that links real and virtual worlds.

    Perhaps a sandbox where everyone carries a big gun and some potentially interesting loot just derives in mindless shooting. Looking beyond that is very complicated, I really think any game requires rules. Translating real life freedom into game world freedom is kinda tricky. I just came across another player, I did what I usually do in these cases: shoot first. The guy had some blood bags, and I needed a transfusion. Some trading could have worked there, a missed chance to interact? perhaps not. He was near a few tents, an organized looter maybe. I don't think he would want me alive near all his stuff either, to be honest.

    The whole meaning of murder is out of place for me and that's where the problem to understand dayZ comes. So killing a person in this mod is a 'murder' instead a 'frag' because players have a background, a past life. Well, perhaps not, it's a game after all, what's my responsibility as a player: just play and get fun out of it. Game let me do it X, I'll do it if I see if fits. Perhaps I don't explain it well enough but it's so clear in my mind...

    I certainly prefer if traditional RPG elements aren't part of dayZ. Why? 1. Technical reasons: additional NPCs require more power so less room for zombie AI's 2. Story related: this is a post-civilization non-society 3. Gameplay: players themselves should play all the meaningful roles, it's possible. If you want to know how...

    Love the molotov idea, crafting them more specifically. Should be technically feasible, however given the open nature of this mod, could be used in ways that really bring server performance down. Massive usage, that's the problem.

    I only fear this kind of suggestions that force you to play in a way you may not want, in the end I want the same but there are other ways to get there.

    Solution for Excessive Murder

    Well, no. That's the Sociopath side of things. But, there's nothing realistic about murdering someone and then standing in place for 5 minutes unable to move. I'd rather they introduced a behind the scenes sanity meter based on your murders that made you start seeing and hearing things that aren't there and make noise even when you were trying not to. The meter slowly drains over time but, only when logged on. So you can kill in self-defense without having to worry too much or you can go on a murderous spree and slowly lose yourself. Edit: I would also like to add that the sanity meter does reset upon death. make a full post of this idea, that is just brilliant. This kind of stuff have been proposed countless times. It's just a way to tell you how to play, don't get me wrong I hate excessive murder and general KoS, just I don't want that kind of 'fix'. _____________ My proposal about selective FF. The only method that allows everybody to play like they want, including cooperation, trading, betrayal and PvP of course.

    Only if you have a chance to fool other people. My name is Henry Gale and I'm from Minnesota. Hate to be repetitive but if your gun/backpack is better than theirs, they probably gonna shoot you, sooner or later.

    A reason for trust

    Am I here the weird one that sees no solution, at all? Pretty good ideas are posted every day, yet all of them ignore the fact that this is a game. People gonna kill you as long they get a gun and some ammo. You, the human player, are the most wanted target in this game. The harder is to kill you, the higher symbolic value you will be and others will want to try harder. Maybe you can delay this fact somehow, or make it harder, maybe you can make the murder more intense or interesting, but strangers won't trust each other.

    A new 'status' to encourage cooperation

    This is the exact addition that dayZ needs to kick all the normal players like me that don't team up and probably wouldn't want to stay near other strangers fearing some sort of ugly end for such relationship. The medication is supposed to make the whole thing more palatable, in the end may be used as a reason to kill and loot other players for their medication as well... I welcome any effort aimed towards KoS reduction, this may backfire though.

    What happens when your depression is cured? Do you need friends soon again? ^^ Some people may take pills, others just may waste people.

    Either FIX zombie speed or REMOVE the knockdown

    The knocking down chances must be pretty low right now, don't remember any personal case post 1.6. It shouldn't be a matter of luck in any case.
