How do i imagine it? Exactly as its supposed to be. An apocalyptic wasteland. People should be struggling to survive day in day out, the environment should be the main antagonist. Of course people are a threat too but equally they could be an asset. Unfortunately people dont see that possibility and shoot anyway so hopefully people will have more common sense once the game is complete. There should be several stages to dayz Freshspawn: struggling to survive and keep warm and fed. Meet people along they way. Perhaps you team up, get ambushed, tricked, eaten by cannibals. But it should always be a struggle for freshspawns to survive. Semi geared player: So youve found some basic gear to survive. From here you could join a group and survive that way or maybe try the hermit life and live on your own somewhere in the wilderness. It should still be a struggle to survive however but made that little bit easier due to the basic gear. Camp: Whether you are a hermit or part of a group, you should have a tent atleast by now or have claimed a house/shack for yourself. Life is starting to look up but its far from perfect. You need to start ensuring your groups/ your own long term survival. Base: Similar to the camp stage, but you have started to upgrade your immediate surroundings. Walls/ barricades, defenses. Stockpiled gear, medical supplies, food, ammo. Maybe at this stage you have started growing your own food and have some cattle. Maybe if your lucky, you have a power generator that runs on fuel until you can figure out something better. Advanced base: The base is secure, more people are joining you every day and soon a town starts to take shape. This does mean though that others want what you have. Now some meaningful PvP. Towns go to war with each other over land and resources. Or perhaps it was a grudge. Maybe you go to war with a bunch of cannibals. Anything could happen. The towns going to war part however could work at any stage from camp to Advance base stage. There should always be bandits too, hopefully true bandits that rob as well. This is the natural progression that i believe Dayz should be taking. To a degree it might even happen when the game is finished. Obviously its not as linier as this, there will be some grey areas in between the "stages". Hopefully this will mean Elektro/cherno deathmatch stops. Its bloody ridiculous it even happens. Although its somewhat acceptable at this stage of the game.

You may be cold. Iv had this happen to me where my gun sways around and shakes quite abit but nowhere does it say im cold. We didnt use a v3s but i believe its the same problem. Sit in front of a fire for a few mins and see if it goes.

Hey guys, me and two friends head to the abandoned base north of severograd, it appears it was not abandoned.

I always thought it was a few days to a couple of weeks after. There is alot of evidence to suggest it as has been pointed out. However can we realy talk about it fitting in with Arma canon? Because since Arma and the outbreak, a few rather large cities sprouted out of the ground. Pretty sure they wernt there before. Dayz standalone and Arma are similar but not realy part of the same universe.

Cowboy hat (black or brown but usualy black). Green check shirt, dark trousers of some sort. Improv backpack, chest holster. Then whatever guns i can find. But AKM is my favourite.

So i managed to sneak past 2 guys at vybor base. Noticed a camp fire in the prison so i went in and lured them out. This is what happend.

Ok im all for helping other players if i can and i hate killing on sight but what your saying makes no sense. In an apocalypse, a group of survivors would try to take as many resources as possible to ensure their survival. Yes that also means more than they need. It means other groups in the area would have less therefore less of a threat. I do not think it goes too far. Tents and groups of people are the first step to making bases/towns of survivors. To do this they need supplies. Its part of the progression of the game.

I certainly hope its the way most people will react. Im glad they added it in though, anything to add to the atmosphere im happy with. Yeah hopefully everybody and their dog wont be doing this. Would be cool to come across a group luring people into a trap though. Kuru coule be interesting but it is not exactly a widespread disease is it?

So me and my friends were in Severograd and got pinned down at the firestation by a sniper. I try to flank him, this is what happens.

Yeah they need to fix that sound problem. Its a bit of a pain, but hey they shot first. Serves em right.

Hey guys, so my group and I went to look for tents last night. We found two and legged it out asap. We finaly set them up and put non essential items in them (just incase). This morning i logged in and the tents were still there but they had slightly moved postion, i couldnt open/close or pick them up. The items had mostly disapeared (some remained). I couldnt take items from them or put items in. Anyone else had this experiance? I would accept that someone may have looted them but for the fact i cant interact with them. Cheers guys.

Zing you can find them in the apartment blocks. Ah i didnt know items dissapear (overnight really)? Ok well thats good to know thanks, were a rather large group so no interaction for 60 hours or 15 restarts is gonna be pretty rare. Im thinking they are just bugged then considering i cant even interact with them properly. Thanks for the help.

Wow im not even part of this argument and your attitude is annoying me. Seriosuly this game is not for you. Too much high value loot means too much deathmatch. Trust me theres enough high value loot out there. One of my friends has an m4 for christ's sake. If your not interested in immersing yourself into the atmosphere of the game, hunting, cooking at a campfire then growing your own food (an important step forwards in the apocalypse) and interacting with players (things like talking, holding them up, kidnapping, trading, forcing people to fight as gladiators) then seriously i think you need to find a new game.

Our friend is under attack in a nearby town and we rush to help him. Will we become the hunter or the hunted?

Yeah its a stupid mindset that gets nothing done. Talk about it, come up with ways to deal with it. Devs please ban their arses.

Love the part where you say accepted by most. Most people dont understand the term alpha and get annoyed when you try to explain. Its quite frustrating to deal with it to be honest. Anyway as for your point, i can kinda see where your coming from. If zombies are placeholder why not add vehicles. Honest answer, iv no idea. I mean it doesnt seem like it would cause problems but you never know.
