  1. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA "And yet, ive used proper grammer" "ive used proper grammer" "ive grammer" Sure, we could become Steam buddies for life. Maybe my school buddies and I could teach you some English. Maybe you could go back to school. Seriously, you say you're being an adult and not insulting people, then follow it up with one of the world's most juvenile insults. I am honestly imagining you right now huffing petrol.
  2. You're quite wrong buddy, the game isn't "playable" until the major kinks which break the game-- like falling through second story windows and combat logging-- are worked out. And all of us paid our $30 to the devs, who now have a job to do, so please don't tell them otherwise. That sort of thinking will make the standalone turn out like WarZ, and they already have our money. It is going to happen, actually, as stated by Rocket, you irreclaimable fecal-matter-eating troglodyte. I'm sad for your parents. If they have people able to work on the berries they should definitely be able to spare them for more important things. However, requests like this are drowned out by "IT'S AN ALFPHAAAAAAAR" on the forums. Not crying, just asking that we get cars before we get more violet pants. There's a subtle difference which you seem to have missed. Also, *separate. Commenting on what has or hasn't been released in the update is perfectly acceptable in a thread about the update. Not everybody is you. Not having to sprint for literal hours will encourage more players to go inland. Who exactly wants to spend all their time running, aka lazily steering with the mouse and putting a paperweight on [W]? Anyone who says "me", go play QWOP.
  3. I would rather have vehicles sooner than "very late 2014" when they could do it sooner rather than bullshitting around with other things, so no thank you. Adding drugs to DayZ would be cool though, with minor advantages attached to them [medicinal marijuana? Speed that does exactly that? PCP and steroids that make you physically stronger]?
  4. People could drop a track in the snow every 10 steps, maximum of 10 tracks. Blizzards would be rare, drop body temp, and not just make you freeze from being exposed for too long but also greatly increase the chance of hypothermia and the common cold passing on. I love it, imagine fighting zombies in the snow while you hunker in a log cabin from the cold and snowdrifts block your escape! And as a little fun thing you could collect snow into the hand, and put it into Canteens or Bottles to melt it with your body heat and capture the moisture. Putting it into the inventory would just melt it. Only very heavy clothing would keep your body temp at normal to survive the cold.
  5. No, you numbskull, this game is for me. I paid money for this game. We know they're adding vehicles eventually. We might as well have them sooner to allow players to do more stuff. Don't try the generic "you're not tough enough for DayZ" thing. I've made multiple characters run across the landscape in the standalone for at least 20 hours so far, and far more in the mod. I just want cars to increase the amount of stuff alpha players can do, because once you have a gun, there's no reward for killing zombies and having to run to explore the map is boring as fuck, so you just go straight to the coast and shoot bambis. Cars would allow much more fun traversal of the huge and under-explored map.

No, I mean a better melee damage indicator via a bigger, better gore spray on a successful melee hit, because often it's hard to tell when you land a blow with one of the weaker weapons or with your fists, but limbs falling off is also a great idea [although a little weird if the arm falls off because you hit them in the head]. Wow, you're just the funniest. I'm just asking for even a sliver of developer priority given to these basic things before they move on to everything else, and trying to get support for such a thing. Of course, hilariously sarcastic jerks like you aren't helping. For a start, an image macro half the size of the page does not count as a valid response. I have read the development plans and Rocket's AMAs and seen the planned architectures, and I would just like them to give us an advance on the vehicles one so we get a few models of basic, repairable cars, even if they don't follow physics to the T- that can be worked out later, as long as we get the gameplay mechanism sooner. I don't care if cars crash upon even brushing walls because of bad physics, I don't care if they only have two or three models, and I don't care if they don't let you shoot while inside them. I can live without that for a while: I just want a simple rectangular thing, with required fuel and parts, which 2 people can get into and which I can hit 60 km/h in. Surely they can spare some time from the other scheduled things [like weapon attachments and crafting] to just horn in the most basic car possible. Please learn to word your posts better. I know different developers are working on different things- that's pretty obvious. Adding violet pants is not anything that constitutes balance, and realistic games often don't factor balance in as much anyway due to the random nature of real life, which is not a game. 'm not being selfish. You are, by hunting for beans by hating on people.

So why aren't the artists and designers making basics like car models and adding "car parts" and "jerrycans" to the game that are going to be needed for when cars are added? They will initially be useless, just like screwdrivers etc. at the moment, but no more useless than violet cargo pants or multiple types of shoe colour, and will allow faster addition of cars as the programmers get to implementing them. As for gore sprays on hit and zombie loot drop, I can't see that taking that long for the programmers to bring together. Wall clipping is the other thing, the one which would take up time, but is needed more than fixes to things like holsters, magnums, etcetera which are all essentially reskins of current functional items. So the spare programmers who aren't working on server functionality and people losing their characters, and are instead working out these item bugs, could be tackling more serious and gameplay functionalities. At the moment, the priority still seems to be cosmetic rather than gameplay related, and that doesn't sound like common sense to me.
  8. You play with retards. You live in England, learn to speak and read English. I'm talking priority of additions to the game in terms of features, and only mentioned one bug fix.
  9. I'm only asking for cars because I know it would take ages for helicopters to come around, hence I didn't ask for helicopters. The tedium of running is acknowledged by many players. Piss off, douchewad.
  10. *Cannon. Go home brony scum.
  11. Wow, that's a huge overreaction to have over two sides of the game map. Nice drawings, but invisible walls and debug plains are inescapable. And a roughly square-looking island is a far greater suspension of disbelief than the debug plains. A generally snowier area on the map [maybe further north where not too much stuff is on the go] would be excellent though.
  12. Well considering that in dayZ you have endless sprinting? I think you're forgetting that little tidbit.
  13. The majority of cars would have been taken already by fleeing survivors, although it's a pretty heavy assumption that many were allowed to escape by the military. And it is an obscure, log cabin-in-major-towns-post-Soviet-state, so cars wouldn't be as frequent as Western nations, but indeed there would still be many in the entire area. But starting off with 20, rather than 200, that the player actually had the basic skills needed to repair would be fair enough, assuming Joe Survivor is an average bloke and not a well trained auto mechanic. 200 unrepairable cars would make sense as decoration/road obstacles.
  14. Wow, you created an account just for me? What a GREAT addition to the community. You want to tell me about life and how things in life don't come easy? Let me spell it out. In real life, we invented cars because walking was slow and tedious and wasted time we could spend doing other things. THEREFORE, if DayZ is realistic, there are cars, because not whiny kids but whiny adults were the ones who gave a reason for there to BE cars. Stop trying to look cool. In life, things don't come easy, but in real life son, yes indeed cars do exist. And they existed in the original mod too, moron. Delete your account now.
  15. Well it really isn't if fuel and parts are resources you have to search for, in which case even a 1 to 1 amount of cars to players on the server wouldn't be too many, because they still have to go the the trouble of gathering parts, repairing a car, and There's nothing wrong with every player having a car, in fact. In a zombie apocalypse there would still be many cars around because too many citizens were zombified to drive them. It makes sense for parts and fuel to be a rarity, but not zombies. And I was talking 20 cars spread across the whole server, so it isn't 1 vehicle per 2 players unless every player treks across the whole map looking for one, and so I naturally assumed you thought they must all be in easy reach. I think that the vehicles that remained in Chernarus would be the ones that broke down or crashed into each other. Considering the chaos that a zombie apocalypse entails, that would be quite a large number. Only parts for 3-4 vehicles is quite unrealistic considering that this is a 225km2 map, and the fact that there is still some un-rotten fruit like fresh bananas, and that most zombies are not swarming in maggots or missing too many limbs, means the apocalypse should be perpetually about 4 or 5 days in, assuming these bananas were unripe initially and that the devs would have bothered to model little maggots. So, sure some survivors would have taken the remaining working cars. That makes sense. But definitely more than 3-4 broken down cars would still be left in a 225km2 area, and I reckon 20 would suffice. As for gear, in any major town in a Western nation could run around and gear up in roughly an hour. A human can go 360 kilometres in 8 hours roughly, so covering the whole map to get gear in real life, realistically, would take more into a 2-day period than a 2-week period. Also, many of the people who came through before you would have died within the confines of Chernarus, leaving their uneaten food and unused items and, of course, car wrecks where they died. So no, I don't think taking 2 weeks to gear up fully is realistic if you are all out looking for loot, and I don't think 20 cars is unrealistic either.

    Rolling Changelog: Stable Branch: 0.32.114557

With all respect to the valued and revered devs, I don't think much of some of the additions you and your team are working on so hard, Rocket, when we are still waiting on much more important things to be added and fixed which you could be spending your time better on. Every time I see violet cargo pants ingame and no cars, no zombie loot, I die a little. I would really like 4 things to be done in the 34 update that can do a lot for base gameplay. Read my signature.
  17. Considering DayZ is a game influenced by realism, you have it all wrong. For a start, don't think so coast-centric. Vehicle spawns would be scattered across the whole map, so only about 5 would be available to bambis. Vehicles would require repair as in the mod, which leaves you vulnerable while doing so and forces you to look for parts. Jerrycans to fuel cars would be needed, so players would go through a well trafficked area and find it empty of fuel. As for gearing up, it already takes a decent amount of time to get some stuff; weeks is a ridiculous expectation. I would suggest removing Balota Military Camp and decreasing the amount of full on military loot spawns if you don't like how easy it is to get a full kit, but we don't need many more items at the moment, especially cosmetic shit. What we need is vehicles, because they could potentially decrease banditry and make players explore the 225km squared map which is currently being ignored and wasted, which stops players from finding bugs in the far corners as they test. Vehicles are a "now" priority for letting players explore deeper; not different types, just one for now.
  18. No shit, that's the point: the cars will be valuable and drivers will be a target, so they will be something to work towards. But there shouldn't only be a few, there should be 20 repairable car spawns to start off.
  19. Please to learnings the Englishes.
  20. I did say fix wall clipping. Learn to fucking read. Oh, wow, would you look at that.
  21. Rocket PLEASE We need 4 things before anyone even thinks about berries and SILLY SPRAYPAINT so can you please make your sacred dev team prioritise these FIRST for the next update Drop the crafting sawn-off-shotgun-in-69-different spraypainted colours team to add at least one type of car, just one or two models to save time, that come in wrecked bodies in twos and threes; RUNNING IS REALLY GETTING OLD. I don't care if it's basic or buggy just as long as we get just one land vehicle that speeds travel and gives players something to build and work towards. Please. Priority to damage indicators on zombies so players can tell when the melee hits, a gore spray on every collision in the next update would be a great help Can you please work on loot drop on zombies before you add new items, so that players have a motivation to kill zombies. There is like no reason for killing a single zombie unless you're trapped. Adding a reason to kill zeds earlier in the alpha will make players more likely to use ammunition on zombies than each other. Priority to fixing of player models badly clipping through terrain. Honestly even zombies going through walls isn't that bad but teleporting through 2nd story structures to one's death is a needed fix! In short: Save me obi wan rocket you're my only hope I don't want violet pants I want more basic gameplay first

    ID TAG

In response to "you never know who you're dealing with" in terms of reality, a slightly better level of facial detail would let players say "this guy/girl tried to kill me earlier" or "I know this friendly". Thus players have another layer upon gender and race to distinguish themselves, so you can remember faces of people you've already come across. That, to me, is a bit more real. But yeah, players shouldn't be able to match person to name with ease, although the wallet idea is great and should be implemented as a separate 1 slot item you can wear upon yourself.
  23. To the lovely crew behind DayZ's Standalone. Could you PLEASE prioritise these things, before anything else, to better the experience for people who paid $30? :) Because I had thought all my Christmases had come at once with the update, only to find that all the glaringly urgent game problems with the alpha had been ignored, and some of the new additions were: "-Loot: Added color variants of all shoes into loot spawns" "-Loot: Added hiking pants" "-Loot: Added hacksaw" "-spraypaint" "-fifty billion other separate things" To clarify, I'm not upset that we get these nice things. I Know That This Is An Alpha. However, I would really like to have the most important things fixed before we get all this other minutiae- I don't care about shoe variants. I want, in this order: -Fixing player clipping through walls so it STOPS HAPPENING and my 10-hours-of-running character doesn't fall to their death out a second story wall by teleporting through it. THIS IS IMPORTANT. -Fix-upping of zombies so we can tell when we have hit them, please. A gore spray would do that nicely. -Introduction of at least one type of repairable land vehicle, requiring 4 different metal parts to repair it and jerrycans to fuel it, with the vehicle having 40 different spawns, more frequently inland. -Loot on zombies. There is no reason to kill zombies at present unless you're cornered. Zombies need to drop a rare handgun, helmets, chest holsters, and sometimes water bottles, ammunition and other stuff which could conceivably be in a zombie's pockets. Balance to this could be achieved by making military supplies a little rarer. All these things being made a priority before anything else will make things so, so much more fun for the alpha owners than just more types of civilian loot. Thanks for reading.

Dear developers, hear my plea. [priorities, not additions]

A tl;dr of my [in retrospect] too long response. -I was talking broadly, velvet pants are one example among many other less wasteful recent additions with other skills involved than modelling and art. -I never suggested priority to server stability, because I knew they're already working on it. Don't put words in my mouth. -what xTITANx said ("alpha") was in no way educational, I told him in the OP I know it's an alpha -seeing as I only insulted xTITANx and nobody else, I didn't exactly insult everyone as you said. It may now possibly include you, I don't care. -I paid money for a product or service, ergo I'm a fucking consumer, learn capitalism. -Everyone involved with the game are acting as consumers giving feedback on the product as they play it, not paying to test bugs. -Evidence I'm paying to be a player, not a tester: "Let's play DayZ"-s all over the Internet. Clans and servers for players. Wikis for people to learn to play, not to test. Nobody paid $30 for the privelige of testing a game, they paid it to get DayZ Standalone Version early. I think you will find this is general consensus. -the best I can do is go to Reddit and complain, or suggest here in the forums, because as you say the issues have been covered, which is why I'm suggesting priority in dealing with the issues. The bug tracker is irrelevant. -I read the disclaimer, did you? It applies to people complaining "I BOUGHT DIS GAEM AND IT DOZZENT HAVE MAH 6 MILLION ZOMBIES AND COPTAHS RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!" It doesn't apply to requests for basic features to come before luxury features in development. I know it's an alpha, as I said many times, but what I want is for them to change their priorities, not just "hurry up", which is what the disclaimer addresses. And, as it says, "we will be working with the community." -I have to use capitals not as a sign of urgency but to emphasize words to make the text easier to read. Many people do this. -Wow, tell me off for insulting people then dismiss the entire forums as being in a poor state. Nobody needs you here to criticise a simple suggestion while giving no valid points as to why the suggestion is wrong. If you don't approve of me asking for development priorities, ignore it, because my OP is relevant to Suggestions as a Suggestion. If you want to see them add zombie hit indicators/zombie loot/one land vehicle/a bug fix on clipping, then donate your beans to as to actually let the devs hear it. Since you seem more preoccupied with getting beans for yourself from other lazy critics, I doubt that is going to happen.

Dear developers, hear my plea. [priorities, not additions]

I do understand the term "alpha", as I fucking well made clear. If they didn't care about our current experience, the game wouldn't be in open play alpha for $30 with fairly constant updates, and we wouldn't have a suggestions branch of the forum, and Rocket wouldn't be doing AMAs at this time. Being in alpha means they are continuing to add features. What fucking dictionary are you reading? Nowhere in an alpha's definition does the phrase "they do not care about your experience right now" come into it. I do get how games are made, and I probably get it a lot better than you do, so stop jumping on the "it's an alpha" bandwagon and shitting mindless drool out of your mouth. Instead, take some time to realise that me asking for the game basics first is something they can easily ignore, but if they do listen and implement it, it's a positive thing anyway. You bitching at me for making the suggestion is not fucking helpful, when we could be having A FUNCTIONAL BASE GAME EARLIER AND VIOLET PANTS LATER, something which is good.
