First of all I've not played the game in a few months before today but I did get a tent and some great loot just before that hiatus. But I got this tent on a non persistent server, am I right in thinking non persistent and persistent don't intermix. And if so, is a tent in non persistent useless?

Just ambushed 3 players on a rooftop in cherno, they were kind enough to provide me with a tent amongst other things, but do they work on a normal server, or persistent ones only?

Just punch them in the face,they go down,you hit them in the head as they are getting back up, keep doing it right and they will just keep falling over soon as they get up.

Several times on experimental I've ran into buildings finding around 2 dozen empty med kits, I was in Novo tower earlier and found around 15 different rifles too. In one of the newer garage buildings the same seemed true for hard hats and flares. Absolutely crazy.

So whilst watching a zombie apocalypse documentary called the walking dead I had an thought. Everyone in this world has a role, a set of preferences or a uniform. So why not, in Dayz, have players spawn with random sets of clothing. We could have many times such as... The random man! Current spawn clothing. The builder! Hard hat,high vis jacket and canvas pants. The policeman! Police uniform. The office worker! Suit and tie. The soldier! TTSKO gear,no helmet. And you get the idea,paramedics,mechanics,chavs,convicts,waiters. There are dozens of possibilities which could really enhance the way the game is played. For example if I spawned as a cop,I'd act like one. If a convict,I'd act like one. A fast food chain worker....Well may be I wouldn't act like that one but you see what I mean. Opinions? Forgive errors,typed on a tablet.

You can actually freeze to death? Oh....I just ignored the irritating temperature reminders. But loot is awful at the moment, I understand the whole random doors thing but it wastes so much of my time. And when your a fresh spawn without a can opener time is everything.

Well,I found a few in the new tent city in the West. Both helmets and visors I found were badly damaged, but clip the two together and they'll be pristine. It's more an issue of finding magazines than the bullets to go in them.

Sometimes I stand still and try and hit a zombie,he tries to get behind me so we're spinning trying to hit each other. Basically shooting zombies is a massive risk whilst melee is just broken.

I just picked up a 1911 in a police station.

As a far off mod for the distant future what would you think of this as an idea, no it wouldn't be simple nazi zombies but there would be Nazis who had become zombies. Weapons across the board would be much more balanced without the elite military tier that will become prevalent soon. But more to the point it would just make for an interesting setting. I don't possess the skills to do it,it is just an idea and wouldn't be possible until DayZ is finished anyway I imagine.

Actually Wolf I meant the Nazis wouldn't exclusively be the zombies.

I'm curious as to what loot you could need from the riskiest(?) military base of all on a month old character.

To be honest, I don't see why eventually in the probably quite distant future, we could have a variety of maps in different places of the world.

So you would have combat logged if it weren't a death sentence now? You sound like a darned combat logging server hopping 3pp pretty britches to me!

I just dumped my backpack on regular,my gear now includes,3 coupled magazines as well as 240 spare bullets,a 'silenced' fnx with a single magazine inside it,a can opener,compass,saline IV,bandage and a sewing kit. Oh and a canteen. I'm now a simple soldier with my beret and M4 prowling Chernarus.

So I know Chernarus is based off some part of the Czech republic but it's an island right? So we can throw away this silly theory that everything should be Czech and instead we should be creating the islands own fiction. Now a downcast Eastern Europeanish island could realistically only be somewhere in the black sea or off the Eastern Coast of Russia. I'm sure others have given this much more thought but if it was in the black sea it is unlikely the Yanks would pay a visit. Off the Eastern Coast of Russia,that makes some sense. Where do you think this island realistically would be and should we be simply making it Czech because that's the easy unimaginative thing to do or should we be developing its own independent fiction?

Personally I'd like to see British equipment quite rare and only spawning at one,two helicopter crash sites. I'd like to see Russian at NEAF and American at NWAF and CDF at the military bases.
