The forests in chernarus are all pretty sparse, even in the thickest bits you always have a pretty good line of sight and the trees never block out a considerable amount of light. See: This looks great and fairly accurately reflects some of the forests in the Czech Rep: But! It gets pretty boring when you notice all the forests in the game look like this, especially considering how much of the map is forest. There are no small trees, saplings, wild flowers, ivy etc. So does anyone know if the devs plan on making any denser forests, with more features because this would make the prospect of hunting and camping a lot more attractive to me. Hi, this is just a question i have with the new 'total Persistence' system being trailed in experimental. How will loot now be removed from the servers? We have a large influx of new loot at every server restart, before this was offset by old loot being 'cleared out' at the restart so that over time a kind of steady state was reached regarding the amount of loot in the servers. So now that they have removed the 'loot sink' but have kept the 'loot source' how is the amount of loot not going to simply grow indefinitely? Obviously the devs are not going to let that happen so what i'm asking is, if they have stopped items being wiped on a server restart, what new 'loot sink' will they implement to keep the loot levels steady?

Seriously i think this forum should have some kind of a helpline section for people suffering DSD (dayz stress disorder). The sad thing is Im not even sure if im joking, this game has induced a genuine fight or flight response in me more than once (palms sweating, heart literally pounding in my ears, trembling, wanting to run from the room etc.). The more geared i am the worse. The only cure is to be killed in a completely anticlimactic way like by a char wipe. My last character had everything you could desire, mp5, akm, pso1 scope. Needless to say i was a complete wreck, sweating, ruining my neck and eyes by leaning into the screen, i thought it couldn't get any worse.... and then i saw in the corner of my eye a little wisp of smoke and curiosity got the better of me, of course it was a heli crash site, and of course i found a frag AND flashbang grenade, it was all just too much, i was by the balota tents and i thought i heard a player on the other side of a wall, i was practically sweating out of my eyeballs (manly way of saying crying like a little girl) at this point, I got out my grenade, pulled the pin and hurled it over the wall..... except this was a full 40 server... and the server frame rate wasn't so great... so the grenade left my hand and then just sat there... suspended in space about a foot from my face.... I could only stare transfixed.... you are dead. The relief was quite exquisite.

my fps seems to have improved a little but i doubt thats due to better server refresh rate. However the throwing physics is starting to look pretty good on a full 30 player server, its still janky as heck on a full 40 player server though. -
I don't think the AKM needs a nerf, i think the M4 needs a big buff! It should be more accurate than the AKM but cause less damage. atm it is both less powerful and much less accurate and much rarer!

I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that if you get some charcoal tabs you'll be just fine, the bad news is that they are fairly rare and if you don't get them then the prognosis is poor.... I think you should take a seat for this... what im trying to say is your about to die an excruciating death unless you get those tabs.

Movement controls detrimental to gameplay in 0.47 patch

I actually love the new controls and combined with the weapon dexterity and new crawl animation i'm really happy with the movement in 0.47. I think that it's much more fun fighting players who cannot 'slide' all over the place with their weapon raised or run in madly tight circles that would cause dizzying centrifugal forces while swinging a large axe. You can still move at a decent pace with your weapon raised if you double tap w. It is more janky than before but thats too its merit, moving around with a large rifle and backpack SHOULD be a bit janky, its difficult to do! -
Bring Back Southcoast Spawns

I have heard Brian Hicks say this aswell, i think it was during one of his twitch streams. They have no intention of bringing back the southern spawns because all the high tier military spawns are in the west now that the NEAF has been 'civilianized' and they want plauers to have to trek across the map to get too them. I agree though that balota should also become civilian. there are just too many military areas for the player numbers. If it became a larger civilian airport for 747 size aircraft with some proper airport terminals and hangers that would be really sweet. They could at least then return some spawns to around electro/ cherno. -

So according to reddit, some ingenious person has managed to join a server with the new experimental patch that's due to be rolled out on monday. And guess what? It looks completely different! No hangers, no jail houses. Just an ATC tower and some of those new buildings you see around Novo. Unless this is some kind of bizarre bug it appears that the NEAF is about to become civilian! Personally i think its a great move. If they are serious about keeping the east coast spawns, then this seems very sensible to me. And variety is the spice of life. Thoughts?

I got that last time was due to exceptional circumstances what with it being Bohemia's 15th anniversary... but this seems a bit of a hypocritical move on their part: to say 'only buy this game if you are heavily committed to the development process/ don't buy it now' on the one hand and yet at the same time to put it on sale seem like conflicting messages to me.

are they spawning or are these binos all ones your characters already had, because they were not spawning in experimental i believe. -
machete does work, unless its ruined. I played alot of experimental and the place you have to 'be looking' on the animal for the skinning option to appear is very, very small. Just crouch down with the machete out and scan over the whole animal and eventually you will see a skinning option appear.

i spent a few minutes literally marching around the main square yelling into my mic and didn't see a a soul. So then i climbed onto the town hall roof and danced around with a lit flare before throwing it into the square. Not even a peep from anyone :( .

anyone else noticing a decent fps boost? Also the server performance was pretty smooth. may have just bee because i was in a 30 player server though. Also the LRS seems to now spawn in abundance, i just found one in the three story house. -

I managed to get though to hicks on reddit about this. He wasn't aware of the bug and said they would look into this today. They have now acknowledged it on the bug tracker though. I love this game and do understand alpha and this bug is not a big deal if you are not frequently hopping servers but i will say that if they push .45 to stable without fixing it i have a strong premonition of a large shitstorm on these forums... -
The whole thing is pretty buggy at the moment, i timed it and it took exactly 15 minutes to cook my wild boar steaks. It then took around another 15 seconds(!) for them to burn which i'm guessing will be changed. I agree that undercooked is far more dangerous than overcooked. I mean unless you burn food so badly that its completely carbonizes, in which case it essentially becomes inedible, then it wouldn't make you ill. Indeed if your eating wild animals it would be wise to deliberately overcook the meat just to be sure that all the bacteria have been killed and all the virus's denatured.
