The difference between: Scumbag & Banditry...
tullyburnalot replied to TheCalyx's topic in General Discussion
Well, technically they didn't kill on SIGHT, they took the time to slowly kill the poor victims using whatever they had at hand. -

That reminds me, do gas lamps actually work? I know they're actually bright, but they don't seem to illuminate anything around me when I use them. -
DayZ Panthera Epoch Ep2 - The Long Journey Home - PVP and AI Missions

Free views, maybe. -
Behold, the logical extreme of the "respawn somewhere else because of loot" mentality. Skip over to 9:37, and I apologize in advance for the audio quality, but it's the best I got, hardware-wise.

I find most of those ideas great, but I do have to note a couple of things: 1) Adding the occasional weapon in a random, less military location will just aggravate loot grinders. We'd have cities even more swarming with people who's only objective is to get as many gear as possible. 2) Honestly, I like the day/night cycle as it is, and feel that it's better the way it is. Personally, playing DayZ in the night has been THE most pants-sh***ing experience I have gone through. However, I do agree with you that the current metabolism is ridiculous. I shouldn't drink two canteens-worth of water then become thirsty to the point of dehydration three hours later. That said, here's a couple of suggestions to add to the thread: 1) Fix Bleeding: As it is right now, zombies will make you bleed nearly all the time they hit you. Bleed to DEATH, might I add, since apparently scratches don't clot. I remember back in the mod that the first time you got hit after logging in would make you bleed, but then it would go back to normal. The way it is now seems REALLY excessive; 2) Fix the Compass: The way it is now makes it really hard to look at. I have to use the freakin' zoom function to see it half the time. 3) Respawning: Building on what you said, instead of a respawn timer, make it so that if you die X time after you spawn, you respawn at the same location. So basically, imagine you kill yourself 10 minutes after spawning in, let's say, Kamenka. You'd still spawn at Kamenka. I agree with you, people don't seem to actually want to survive. edit: Wrong font colour xD -
I've had it happen to me once, but when I logged back in half an hour later in a different server, my old character (with full inventory) was right back where it was. I've had quite a few issues with item drop lag, even though today's patch was supposed to address that (I think).

Okay, first post in these forums, so I'll openly admit I have no idea in what thread this goes. If I'm going against some sort of forum regulation, I beg pardon. Anyway, here's the thing. Today, I was fortunate enough to find 3 Mountain Backpacks while looting a Military Base. While fumbling around to see if I could switch backpacks and also swap out all the items without having to move them all at once, I broke physics. See, the way it's made now means I can put a Mountain Backpack inside a Mountain Backpack, and still have some 10 inventory slots left, or something. I tested it, and I could actually place items inside the backpack that already had a backpack. Essentially, I found a way to have infinite inventory space. Pretty sure this is a bug, but I'd just like to share that with everyone *cough cough*

O.o I ain't even mad. That takes some serious patience.

Well, I don't really have an issue with medkits, since you can only put medical items in them (and those are small enough to actually make sense), but otherwise, yeah, it feels so cheaty I honestly can't bring myself to do it.

Welcome to DayZ. Seriously now, server hopping will be fixed eventually (hopefully), so just hang on. Stuff like that doesn't really happen all that much.

You can imagine my reaction, though: "Oh look, infinite storage space!" *stands there* "I'll... I'll just put that back where that belongs. Nope, didn't do this, didn't do this at all!"

DayZ Is Officially Ruined(Player Wise)
tullyburnalot replied to daniels's topic in New Player Discussion
Given the chance to do anything they want to in the realm of human interaction, in a video game, people will default to shooting first and asking no questions, purely because it's the easiest thing to do. Because frankly, most people playing this game don't really care enough to interact with other people, they just want to grind for gear and go human-hunting, because this is obviously Fallout (no disrespect to Fallout, love that series). You'll be hard pressed to find anyone who actually gives a damn about other players, even if it translates into mugging you. At least there they actually DO something instead of pointing and clicking. Welcome to DayZ. Everything is out to get you. Even the bushes. -
I was in a similar situation as well. If what Mystic said didn't work, do what I did: pray for a random server lag spike that teleports you outside.

Thanks for the heads-up then. I guess my reality warping powers aren't as powerful as I imagined. Oh well...
