Considering how the concept of diseases is already modeled in DayZ, it would be interesting if people could get sick by carelessly interacting with rotting corpses of other players. As the Wikipedia article on this states, most dead bodies do not present health risks. If a person died due to trauma or gunshot, they won't necessarily spread disease. However, if you find a person who died of a contagious disease, and you loot them without gloves on, you should be exposed to the contagion. In real life, if you come across a dead body that shows sign of disease and not trauma, you'd do very well to avoid it for risk of getting sick. Additionally, any food or water on a corpse should be infected too. Societies have various ways of dealing with the dead to prevent rotten corpses strewing the streets. It'd be interesting if you could bury or incinerate dead people in DayZ. Perhaps even leave them a tombstone. This feels like it would have little "gameplay" value, but would have immense "symbolic" value. I'd love to walk across graveyards, or give a comrade a proper burial, or just be a wandering undertaker burying dead survivors so their corpses won't be shown indignity by looters. There could be grave-robbers, people who attempt to steal loot from buried corpses, and of course, it could be meta-gamed where there could be traps under tombstones to kill would-be grave-robbers. I haven't given any thought at all to the feasibility of this or how server resource limitations would affect this, but if it could be implemented it would make people have an impact even after death.
