  1. 281 - A couple of nights ago I ran into Cherno and it was on fire. Found three blown up helis there, as well as one fully gassed, perfectly fine Huey sitting on the largest building in the city. Dead body right next to it with an AS50, NVG's, rangefinders, M9 SD, etc. More crashed helis near Cap Golova and all the way up north in the woods. At least one hacker went by the name Kevin. Server restart a couple days later (terrible management), Cherno on fire again. Crashed heli in the city, another one flying away toward Elektro. 500 SipTippy - Group member went on this server and spawned in Elektro, heard loud explosions like satchel charges. Came across a dead body with a patrol pack, AS50, 7 NATO clips and all the goodies. I joined for the lolz. I was positioning myself to get overwatch of the city when all of the sudden I hear footsteps behind me. I look over my shoulder (running in an open field), nobody there. I keep running, footsteps are still there and then someone starts talking to me in direct, calling me by my in-game name (which was a veteran server, no nameplates). The person told me to stop, so I stopped, aborted and never went back. 1241 - Group member spawned in Kamarovo, found a hacked crate along the beach. 400 STANAG mags, 100 STANAG SD rounds, a ton of M107 ammo, 130 M136 rockets, ammo for every gun in the game basically. Also found a dead body between Balota and Cherno. Patrol pack, AS50, 5 NATO clips, nothing else. All US servers, BTW. It never ends.

    I'm not wasting my time taking pictures because nothing will ever get done about it. I'm just posting here so people who play/want to play on those servers know to watch out because hackers were roaming around and might come back.

    Let there be a "true map border"

    You don't need a giant fence to stop people from going outside of the map. The simple answer is a map trigger, much like how zombies are spawned in, how the game forces your character to swim, etc. Just set a trigger along the map border. You step over the border, you die, plain and simple. For effect, you could have signs every X amount of meters warning players not to venture any further.

    I disagree that we need an indicator. IMO, the KoS thing really ballooned out of control after global/side chat was disabled. Yes, it was annoying to read, "any friendlies in Cherno?" every minute but at least some form of communication was there. All you can do now is get into the radius of direct chat and hope whoever you startle won't shoot on site. I agree with you that most actual "bandits" are snipers who hide in the hills, but still, the bloody clothes idea has it's use in my eyes. If you're a fresh spawn on the coast, you're bound to come across bodies. Same thing for Stary and NW. If you kill someone there or come across a body, chances are you're going to loot it.

    Breaking your legs and going unconscious by getting smacked is realistic? Healing those broken legs by shooting up with morphine is realistic? Being forced to eat and drink every 40 or so minutes before you start dying is realistic? Eating food to regain blood is realistic? Running forever is realistic? Running with full gear being just as fast as running with nothing is realistic? Every character being a jack-of-all-trades is realistic? 35 or so usable vehicles (including bicycles) in a 225 square kilometer area is realistic? Touching a body and having it fall through the ground is realistic? Zombies (or whatever "the infected" are supposed to be) are realistic? I didn't think so. Drop the stupid ass realism argument. It doesn't work in a video game.

    LOL, this mod is not complex in the least. It's a sandbox with no structure or guidelines. The most complex part is probably figuring out the right formula for the zombies in regards to their LoS, hearing, damage they deal and chances to make you bleed/break your bones. To counter your claim about me being a noob who dies a lot, here you go: Hopped on the game really quick just to take these pics. This character's been alive for like 3 days now. The character before had a MK 48 and was alive for 5 days or more, only died because I fell off of a building. If I'm a noob, you're just another sheep who thinks Rocket is a God.

    I play the mod. These forums are here to express opinions, and that's what I'm doing. At some point, the, "this mod is in alpha" response becomes an excuse. I understand, it's not a flawless diamond. However, can you sit here and tell me that in the 4+ months this mod's been out that appreciable progress has been made toward becoming a standalone game?

    I've been playing this mod for awhile now, and personally, I haven't seen a ton of progress toward the end goal, which is of course a standalone game. The main reason for this IMO is a lack of focus. When we have an update, it seems like everything gets updated. Zombies are different, new weapons/items are introduced, something happens with vehicles, weather effects are changed, behind the scenes changes are being done to the HIVE, etc. What happens as a result is the game usually breaks in some way, and then we have to wait on hotfixes. I think the developers need to have tunnel vision if they want to put this out as a standalone game. What I mean by that is focus on one aspect in an update and don't worry about anything else until that one aspect is as good as you can possibly make it. For example, zombies are a huge issue right now. IMO, the focus should be on them. Doesn't make much sense to me that we're worrying about bear traps, reintroducing helis, etc., when we still have zombies that can see for miles, run faster than players, break your bones/make you bleed easily, walk through walls and zigzag when they run at you.

    @ActionMan - Not sure how you can draw up a comparison to the health system in this game and real life when you can simply eat a bunch of canned food to get your health back up. If I go and donate blood, I'm pretty damn sure eating 10 cans of beans won't help me out. @Clayton - Yea, I was interested until I saw "in reality." People take this shit WAY too seriously and need to realize that it's not real and any "in reality" arguments are useless.

    Can you IP ban people, or is it just limited to kicking? I ask because I've read posts of other server hosts saying they can see stuff hackers do differently from us normal denizens, and thus they can be banned/kicked. If you can't IP ban people, then you should be able to PW your server so long as you aren't doing it just to loot the NWAF until you get some sweet loot.
  11. Played intermittenly around 7:30 EST, got back on at 10 and just got off now. From the get-go, the server was yellow and red chaining every few minutes. The server just died three times at least. The most recent server death wiped everything I believe. Our tents and ATV's were gone when we made it back to camp. A random tent that someone placed down for kicks was gone. Hell, even those shitty boats that barely move were gone (there were two near Berezino, one in Solnichniy). I guess it'll be open-season on the vehicle spawns tomorrow or another server death will result in a reboot where everything is where it was before.

    US170 - Everything Wiped

    Meh, I'm all for scheduled wipes every now and then, but this is just kind of stupid. I think there were like 15 people max during the last few hours, so I don't understand what all the diffucluties were for. If it involved the HIVE, I assume similar situations would occur on multiple servers. Are there any stable, hacker-free servers out there?

    Hotfix Build 1.7.2.3 Rolling Update

    Just logged in using 1.7.2.3 and 94876. I still have all my gear and I'm exactly where I was when I logged out last night on 1.7.2. I downloaded everything manually, BTW, no Six Updater or anything.
  14. Prior to a couple days ago, I've never seen a Coyote backpack on the ground. I've been playing since early June and probably put in 120+ hours, which includes many raids on Stary, NEA, NWA, Balota and deer stands. Now I'm seeing these things drop like ALICE packs. First, one of my group members found one in the south barracks I believe. Next, I found one in a tent in Stary. Finally, two other group members found one in the fire station in NWA and the hangar that is literally right next to it. So I guess the question is, were Coyote spawns bugged before, or did they just increase the spawn rate? EDIT - Apparently I can't edit the title name, so bakcpack it is.

    I don't value a GPS too highly because I can navigate fine just using a compass. I'll ask my group members when I get on later, though, as I know one guy is big on having a GPS.

    This may be so, yet a lot of the current features are there with balance in mind IMO. Spawing everyone near the coast, the current vehicle selection, the way the weapon spawns are setup, rarity of various items, etc.

    I'm going to say no, because you have to look at the big picture. Bikes, motorcycles and ATV's are vehicles as well. It doesn't make any sense to have them locked and magically you can't interact. Not only that, but the windows can be destroyed, so not having a key wouldn't be a problem.

    My understanding is zombies are currently tied to individual players, not the server. That's why when you DC to avoid zombie aggro the zombies disappear and do not linger. They would need to tie the zombies to the servers before something like this could happen.

  21. I receive this message a lot when playing. I'm pretty sure it's because I use an overlay for TeamSpeak, but I'm not 100% sure. Anyone else get this message when using the TeamSpeak overlay?
  22. So I was running along the map not too long after I spawned in when I noticed a heli out of the corner of my eye SW of Stary. I thought it was crashed at first, but when I found a clear view to my amazement it was a working Huey. It only needed engine parts to use, which my group had. We put the parts in and started flying around. Within a couple minutes we heard another Huey. After a pretty short air battle, we destroyed it. Right near where the destroyed helicopter fell was another Huey that was blown up. Flying around in the helicopter we came upon another group of two helicopters in the woods, beat up. Strangely, next to these helicopters and scattered around the open field near the woods were a bunch of ammo boxes (medium), all empty. We flew around the helicopter some more, came upon at least two more Huey's. We decided we were done with the helicopter and we were going to park it near our camp and destroy it. That's when we heard another chopper. After a lengthy air battle, we ran out of bullets, which ultimately led to our demise. The server admin came on chat and said the server would be restarted right after this happened. We logged back in and a vehicle from our camp disappeared. Not only that, one of our group members heard the helicopter again in Gorka. Now, I can't confirm this 100%, but I believe the people responsible are in the clan [brothers]. The first chopper we shot out of the sky was being flown by them, and the chopper that shot us down later was being flown by them as well, not to mention they had ghillie suits and nice gear. We also had a firefight with one of them as we were driving in one of our vehicles and he had a ghillie. He killed one of our guys and we killed him but he alt F4ed out so we couldn't see his loot. Their names are Bes, Viper and GGGamerProRus. I believe there are others but they aren't in-game right now. They are still prowling around in a Huey as I'm typing this. Message to anyone who has a camp on US 46; Get to it ASAP and move your shit. EDIT - Almost forgot, each of the helicopters we inspected (4 of the 7 I believe) had 15 AKM mags and 5 normal AK mags inside of them, which clearly indicated some form of hacking if the number of choppers and ammo boxes weren't enough. Also, as a final thought, we've been playing on this server the last 5 or so nights. This was the first time we save this [brothers] group, and then crazy shit goes down. Might just be a coincidence, might be something more. Don't know. I just hope I log back in later with an intact camp, but something tells me it'll be gone.

    I love how so many people clamor for realism or authenticity, yet the idea of having a body fade into the ground merely by placing your hands on it doesn't raise any red flags. This is a stupid feature, and a broken one at that.
