I was never hoping but now I am afraid that I will have hard time to find a decent server to play in as I will have to wait 5 minutes each time. The test I was performing was simple. Log in, arm/disarm, arm/disarm, eat/drink or use an item, turn on/off a flash light. If connection keeps up stay else leave. In most cases I do not even move step. My suggestion is that if you perform some actions (looting, moving around for sometime, etc.) then the timer should kick in when you try to hop. And it should just let me hop till i decide where to play.

I did not try logging in after this patch. But during server selection before starting actual playing, I have to hop few servers to find a decent/good connection. Will timer still kick in? Will I have to play on a server which i joined and lags like hell for 5 mins to try another one?

check your spot on map, and try facing west, if u get god rayed to death. It is late in day. Same deal with east. If you do not see sun both ways, it is mid day.

The other option is to follow them sneaky and pop up on their screen when they are eating or holding a strong box/healing bag/ammo box etc. So I will be sure they can not react in a way to harm me. They will be forced to obey in able to survive or will try to arm and die. After that, you can talk to them when their arms are up in the air and decide what to do with much less risk. -
What are the minimum specs announced on the steam? With those specs, can a PC handle those 3 settings? If yes, yes they should be forced. If not, settings should be forced based on announced min specs. It is as simple as that.

Well, I was going to mention about that. Until you find a rope or a backpack, two handed melee weapons should drop from your hand just like primary weapons do when you have one more at your back. So ropes would be more valuable and attaching axe to your back would make sense.

In my opinion, in near future, we will not be able to get them so easily. Finding one will be luxury, choosing between one and other should be an epic story.

I was fresh spawned, unarmed and running in and out of building. I entered one building, I heard some one yelling friendly friendly. I turned to the sound and saw him coming in to my face with a fire axe. He chopped me into pieces. I think he figured i was unarmed after saying friendly... Once you are not armed, you don't deserve having friends... -
Last night I used a pristine weapon cleaning kit on a pristine M4, just to make sure i keep it in good shape and surprisingly weapon has gone to worn status right after i clean it. After seeing that, I tried on another weapon, same result. It became worn too. I mentioned this over TS (This is alpha testing and we test!) and friends gave it a try too, same result. So I report here; You should not clean your weapon if you want them to be in good shape...

It is not only about condition, buttstock, hand guard, scope and bipod combination should be in place too. It takes long time to gather right parts and is always very easy to loose them in DayZ.

You die too much, right? :) if you don't you can try shooting, standing up maybe put some flares around to make sure. Scope has range setup up to 700 meters and if bullets go below that, it means it is more than 700 meters. Simple...

Dude, i don't know if you saw but I sad I was sorry and you guys are right about search. But the main goal of my topic was keeping players informed to not clean their weapons not creating more drama. Just chill.

I think it is default hotkey is "T" and I will try to record longest ranged shot hitting the spot one after other again and again. I noticed that I forgot to mention about bipod too.

Well, If you place a right scope and butt-stock (considering everything in pristine condition) and change the shooting mod to single shot per click, you can make sniping shots from 700-800 meters. And with same setup, you can go in to the city a lot safer then you will ever be with Mosin.

After making few shots. You need to clean your weapon to protect it from rusting. It is not a repair kit, it is cleaning kit.

I used the word of report as announcing to others for not trying. But you are right about search, I should have done that first. Regarding to the 3 days delay; When you work 60-65 hours in a week, you can only play Holly Friday nights! Anyways, dont clean your fucking weapon. Even pristine cleaning kits damage them.

I have been playing MMO's for so long. Since the first days of Ultima Online (1997) to last days of WoW (at least for me when Blitz decided to milk the players...) I simply find DayZ as new born sister of Ultima Online. It was same when you die, you die and looting on same. PvP and PvE was with same (Dragons and golems instead of zombies). You could tame a ride now we can fix a car. We collected herbs to cast spells, now we collect pieces of guns and ammo. Biggest difference is you were able to trains skills and some stats which was being carried with your soul to a new body but you had run as a ghost to a healer in able revive. Skills were letting you build better equipment as skill developed but UO had a bank where you can store things and let you build houses so safe keep those valuables. I am not asking skills to be placed in game. It would ruin lots of things. Other difference was, it was a played from a fixed top camera where we play DayZ as FPS now. What I suggest now is; Allow bigger servers as UO did, 1k players maybe more. (but we will need bigger maps)Fix loot to server to prevent hopping.Zombie infested areas would provide better loot to push players grouping where more betraying will come in to play.Do not let players logging off instantly when engaged in combat or wounded. At the moment you can log of after taking one or two shots from a player, log off and log in later or to another server and heal up. 10 - 15 second logging off delay would solve this for good.Add more craft-able items. For example;finding a sewing machine and a 3 pants would provide a new pants with more pockets.A glass bottle and a gas station would be good lava bomb etc.These can be increased in number... Items are the soul of the MMO. Loosing them is the soul of our DayZ. More items, more players = more fun...
