    Is Dayz finally lag free?

Lag is a critical issue facing this game and Bohemia overall. Its something I really hope they sort out, but don't have a lot of confidence they will. This has been a problem with Arma II, Iron Front and Arma III and the latter even now with the full game released is still laggy which is cack for what's meant to be a finished product. Please before you open up the bomb bay doors to drop the napalm, I fully understand DayZ is an early Alpha, but one of the most fundamental things they have to get right is providing a smooth gaming experiance with at least 30 fps or preferably 60 fps even if you are in Cherno/elektro. If that means having less content and only 30-45 people on a server, fine I'll take that. All I want is for there to be a version of DayZ that works with a decent FPS, vehicles and working zombies. Anything else beyond that is ok, so long as it doesn't impinge on these basics.

    Somethings need to change

I really don't get all this argument about KOS, PVP etc. I play the game I get up north go to the Airfield tool up and get shot just as I head out, there goes 30 - 45 mins of game time. Or I get shot as a new spawn, in which vase boo hoo start again. But this normally happens because I'm not cautions enough or mincing about too long in one place that's a hotspot for loot. Only rarely is it a problem if I'm out in the woods. So really what's the beef? Work out where to go that less people use and learn how to move exposing yourself as little as possible. When I do these things my character lasts for days if not weeks. When I play I often get shot, but you can talk your way out of some situations if you give it a go. Some will still shoot, but thems the breaks you can't stop that. I kill people to get gear sometimes sure, other times if I can see they're Bambies or clearly new to the game (cycling into the middle of Cherno or something) I'll let em be. The point is it's freedom to an extent, I don't think the game should be geared toward cooperation other then the fact it has benefits (i.e. protection from other people). Look at the Walking dead, when one group meets another the tension goes through the roof. That's how it's meant to be and you can't have that without an element of danger.

    Zombie instant Zeroing

Hi, Just wanted to say good work on the game so far, shaping up well at the mo despite being bare bones. Just wanted to float something, not sure if it's possible but I think it would be good if it could. Tried running a search and couldn't see this raised elsewhere, but happy to be corrected. In the DayZ mods as soon as you fired your weapon Zombies instantly knew where you were and could zero you no matter how well you were hidden. This has always been an issue with the AI in the Arma games, but it kind of means that stealth and hiding (apart from the initial shot) are left essentiallly redundant. I think that unless Zombies are right next to you when you fire they should only start to move to the vicinity of the shot, not directly to the player. The player can keep shooting as long as zombies aren't near, but when they get close if you stop they shouldn't be able to find you, unless they happen to get a line of sight on you. You could argue that this would reduce the effect of Zombies and mean players in a sense have less to worry about in terms of KOS (something I'm not essentially against by the way). But I don't think it would, it would still mean that to extricate yourself from a position you'll be surrounded by Zombies unless you wait for a time. So in short it would not remove challenge, but simply modify it. Lastly I think it adds to the realism of the game, as soon as a player hears a shot they don't know where a player is. They may get an idea, but they don't instantly magically know so why should a Zombie?
