Pending Changelog: Experimental Branch: 0.33.114782
Gugolas replied to rocket's topic in News & Announcements
I agree with you...but...not everybody is a pro-supa-dedicated-gamer. What if your children starts to cry and you have to go immediately? You can't go in the woods, just a few seconds to logout. Imagine also that when that happens there are no firefights, no players around. A zed knocks you out while you are sitting there and you lose a week character (talking about finished product of course).Yes, combat logging is a gamebreaking problem and this one is a solution, but maybe not the best one: I hope it evolves in something more user friendly. Atm, the logout timer there was in the mod was more user friendly and still doing partially the job, so I prefer that. We'll see the future developments. Edit: what I mean, in case it isn't clear, is that all points of view and situation have to be considered. This is against combat logging and it partially works, but firefights will not be the only game situation, and players also have a RL around them. -
Another "Yo dawg![...]" nostalgic!

The limitation I see (not beeing a coder) is only one: Why interrupt programmers who are doing things that will lead to the normal item respawn to make them create and code a whole new system (that is not really necessary, we can test the game anyway) that will be only a temporary one until they finish architecturing the servers, wich is what they were doing before?

Might it be your sensation because of lag/FPS issues?

Drinking Too Much Water Affects Energy?
Gugolas replied to Neinsager's topic in New Player Discussion
Never said you can't get stuffed from water, almost every player does it on respawn. I said that vomiting may not remove the stuffed bar instantly, and I brought you another example of slow refreshing of those inventory bars .I was replying to your "You wouldn't be stuffed anymore", as I quoted. Read again. Then, if you were in first person, for sure you don't know if you vomited, wich stays my idea of what happened. -

Being stuck crouching happens when vomiting...test it again standing and moving to be sure :) You get a notification for vomit only if you have an intoxication, atm, not if you vomit from stuffing. And yes you wouldn't be stuffed...as you shouldn't be healty right after they shot you and you lost lots of blood and the screen is grey. In case it isn't clear, some notifications take some time to be refreshed (while some others don't), and this could be the case. -

Uhm, it shouldn't and it is the first time I read something similar :/ Are you sure you did not vomit? Animations are cluncky, if you were crouch walking you could have done it without noticing... -
Remember that many "wipes" are due to character dying on login/logout, logging out in buildings can be dangerous. Please remember also that currently there are 2 hives, regular and experimental. Anyway, this is an alpha and wipes due to bugs or desynch have to be expected. Remember that dev team could also wipe all characters on purposes if it is useful, it has been done once and in the future will probably happen again. This is not the finished product, so yes, if you play expect to die for a bug or to lose your character without a reason...it's part of the development process, I'm sorry. Anyway, also in the finished product...when you die you die. Start again is the only thing to do.

Impartially speaking: don't start arguing in every damn patch thread - it is not useful, to you, neither to others. And makes the thread painful to read, then people does not read it because it's too long and asks 50 times for the same thing. Vitious circle. Stop it, it is still possible. -

You die of you log out while unconscious or cuffed - not if you are bleeding :) -
Not all over the map (unless one of the sound bugs...), but blowing a gas pump makes a very lord noise!

If your tactical vest is still pristine, he probably hit you just in legs and arms and not in the chest area (and obviously not in the head). Those are non lethal or KO areas, if he hit you just a few times (maybe less than what you think, it's very easy to shoot badly with a magnum if hurted and in close combat) you had the time to bandage up, it makes sense (in terms of the game). M4 has an high dispersion atm, so if its parts were badly damaged that could have caused the lack of precision that saved you from the first attack. All items project the body, a little, but in particular vests protect from bullets and so do balistic helmets, motorbike helmets protect from melee and punches (good to prevent KO from fists). When hit, those take a damage, gradually but it is clearly noticeable because of the various stages :)

An alpha is used also for this, when open like the DayZ one. Remember that this is not a finished game. They can see what the exploits are and kill them with good architecture and less scripted parts. This could not be done in a final release game, clearly. Rocket said this multiple times. So, there are many things that can still be done, this I guess will always be improving. Anyway, 150+ hours of gaming and never saw someone cheating (except for one PBO guy, but this is different)...I must be lucky!

There are literally at least 20 threads on this topic, plus the discussions on the news thread. Yes, it is noticeable that at the moment loot does not spawn as before in military tents (all the military tents, not only balota ones). Nobody knows if this is intentional or not, but of course it will be changed in the future as almost everything about loot spawns.
