So... this is just coincidence, I guess? Lol. Stone cold busted.

I'm not sitting in wait inside the town. I come from wherever to overlook the town. The carebear coming into town... now has to pay THAT MUCH MORE attention to the crazy zombie hordes (that already respawn on experimental). More attention on Zeds, less attention on surroundings = one metallic object traveling at 3000 ft/s coming straight for your nostrils. Me, I'm hundreds of meters away. I will ditch the Zeds before they even reach half the distance to me. Edit for clarify: Ditch --> manage in whatever means available. Whether that is melee, or just plain outrunning, or hiding... they wont keep glitching through the walls very much longer btw... PS: I applaud and encourage players to seek out KoS players like me. It really does get boring when a group of 3+ takes off running and combat logging like babies the moment they hear that gunshot ring out (of course they only find out a few minutes later that they are now minus one member...) Bring me some excitement!

If you honestly think that even a billion zombies would be more dangerous than any other random player on a server, then you have seriously underestimated just how dangerous people actually are. As long as even a single gun with a single bullet inside it exists, within this game, I will personally find it and I WILL use it to kill another player. EVERY SINGLE TIME! Deal with it. You know who is going to have the legitimately hard time playing with billions of zombies? You. All of you carebears, that's who...

I think what OP really wants is multiplayer Fallout. Dont worry OP, Fallout MMO might happen some day. THIS, is neither that day nor that game. Sorry, but a large and unwavering no from me on this idea.

I dont think bows will be very effective outside of hunting and/or zombies. Crossbows will be rather viable vs another player though. Most any proper arrow will likely rip through a soft kevlar vest with no trouble. Maybe it will have a hard time against stab vest, but we will have to see how the devs decide to balance it...

How long does a dead body stay before it is "cleaned"?
Wheunis replied to smoq2's topic in General Discussion
It's important to note that, while the server will clean bodies every 10 minutes, if a player is within range of the body - it will NOT be cleaned. So reaching your body after 40 minutes, means that someone was near it for an extended amount of time. All this will be sorted in future. Cleanup is a temporary measure at the moment to lessen server strain. -
Rocket has actually talked about this, a month or two ago. He plans on implementing a layer on top of the ground, that when viewed from a distance, would either obscure or completely block the player proning in the grass. So, even if you turned all settings as low as they will go, to the point where grass doesnt exist at all at any range on your screen, the guy will still be masked by this additional layer of "invisible flat green surface". When, how, and other such details have not been fully developed or discussed, as it is a very very very VERY low priority feature at the moment.

PROOF from Ukrainian uprising the PRESS VEST WORKS!

Im more curious where the idea comes from that it was a sniper... Looks like a hollowpoint bullet from a handgun to me. Most likely .45 by the length, as not many 9mm bullets are that long. -
Vsync limits your fps to the refresh rate of the monitor, as detected by windows and/or the gpu. This is a good thing, due to any extra frames beyond the monitor's refresh rate will go to waste. Push enough "extra" frames above the monitor's capability and you will start getting what i call "over tearing".

In the last few days, I have also come to greatly respect the M4. Most of its problems are solved by magpul parts, an ACOG, and some experience. I do however find it funny as hell when someone sprays out an entire mag in my direction only to hit air, after which I doubletap their armor, and finish it off with a delayed third shot in the nostrils.

Im pretty sure, based on me remebering your profile pic, that I have already adressed this to you (or at least in your attendance) in another thread. Please stop this. The guns are fine. The bullets are fine. Its item absorption values that are out of whack.

Some buildings are weirdly small yeah. And on the flipside... some ground floor places your character can BARELY see into the windows at all theyre so high up!

Question for headphone users (game audio through headphones)
Wheunis replied to Slyguy65's topic in General Discussion
My personal experience says no. Game sounds at the moment are a little buggy and weird. Sometimes you wont even hear that gunshot at all; Meanwhile your friend swears that he just heard a 4 round M4 burst quite nearby... -
Naw, but wiki is easiest thing to link to. 99% of people on forums do not appreciate, nor have the time, to read actual medical research papers. Thus, wikipedia is just the easiest manner to convey a general understanding of a topic.

Even extremely modern military body armor has a hard time stopping bullets at certain power levels. Notably for our discussion: 7.62mm rounds... SKS level ammo (short, lower charge, lower energy) can be stopped very effectively. Larger loads like those from a 51mm... its up in the air on the manufacturing quality and your luck that day. Edit-add: To be fair, with the armor is STILL a less likely chance of irreparable damage and immediate death, but even with armor, the sheer energy release of highpowered rounds are EXTREMELY lethal, vest or no vest. You simply have a slightly better chance of medical assistance being effective with it, than you do without,
