I thought the real moral of the story was not to get attached to your gear

"NO COMMENT !" - DayZ Standalone │deceit & trust in 1 video !

What a jerk. There's always those d bags that kill you the moment you drop your guard. It's especially a shame since the mosin-man defended shotgun-guy saying that he was only using his shotgun to defend himself against zombies and insisted that you not harm him. On the other hand, at least he didn't waste much of your time before killing you. -
The only sure fire way to tell if someone is "friendly" or not is to give them your gun with ammo and see if they kill you. I've had some good adventures with strangers by doing this. The best of which was probably a two-three hour road-trip across the map with a complete stranger; we had quite the adventure scavenging cities and military bases and withstanding several server restarts.

To weed out those who can't climb ladders from those who can.

I play on 2-3 private servers specifically when I want to goof around or solo-play. I've not had any trouble keeping my public-hive character in tact while doing this nor have I heard of any glitches or wipes related to this. Just whatever you do, don't get too attached to your character as you will eventually die or be wiped (whether intentional or unintentional). Characters are meant to live and die.

The Ice Cream Truck killer strikes again. (Note: These guys attacked us first!)

Such troll lol that poor guy at the end -
I've checked probably a hundred boats and absolutely no loot. I have seen no convincing evidence indicating otherwise.
-
http://puu.sh/deVqn/968063f161.jpg That was taken on exp, that's how the boats look that spawn netting.
-
I can see people just running around with the hats on lol the topss are a pain in the butt to make. 4 Burlap Sack (strips) and 2 netting for the incomplete top or 6 and 2 for the complete top. Stack that with 2 and 1 for a wrap and 2 and 1 for a hat and that's like 10 burlap sacks and 4 netting for a complete set.

I would love to see bandits using the ghillie in ambush type situations. I actually would enjoy seeing that lol It will be a rare occurrence though. I agree, not everyone will go for ghillie. Most will not go for ghillie. I think a few will but ultimately it's a pain in the butt to find netting and like 4 burlap sacks everytime you die before you go out and kill people or whatever lol

I'd like to see the transition of Mosin PU vs. LRS CR527 as well. The CR527 seems so much more difficult to find and has more difficult rounds to find so making it "the" sniper rifle would really balance out the whole idea of "too many snipers." Granted I don't run into "too many snipers" myself, but I'd rather see the balance of choosing one gun for another rather than NEVER picking up the CR527. I honestly have come across like two or three clips in my gameplay (not looking) and thusly have absolutely no incentive to use the thing.

I have yet to actually face anyone on exp in a ghillie suit. I don't see what all the fuss is about. If anything it's an alternative to the "get military gear" mindset which allows you to find a more "natural" camo without setting foot in a military base. I like the way they have balanced it so far with the inability to wear a backpack with the top, inability to wear protective headgear (IE: Ballistic helmet or my fav: motor helmet to prevent knockouts), and the fact that it's an item you have to craft. I do admit I hope to see heating up more as a result of wearing the ghillie suit but I don't think much else is needed since the trade off with this equipment is already the loss of inventory and loss of protection. I agree with this, I don't usually run into super leet snipers in ghillies on exp nor do I on stable. I suspect a large portion of gamers like to either hoard their grenades, ammo, and food and would want a backpack. I also would think a large portion of gamers like to do quick gaming styles such as get any gun you can, get out of starving/thirsty and look for people to interact with and not waste their time with difficult craftable items.

This actually seems like something that should be in the game lol

My suggestion:
-
That's how you do it. lmao I totally forgot about those gas stations.

Personally, my last death (last night) was near Berezino on a populated 1st person exp server. Me and a couple friends were starving to death picking apples when a guy came up to us. My friend was chatting with him and I snuck up behind the guy and tried to stun him with a cattle prod. Unfortunately I didn't check the battery and it was dead, as a result he turned around and promptly bludgeoned me to death with a pipe wrench.

I stick to a magnum or a repeater. Super common ammo and accurate enough. Neither require clips too. I probably have more magnum kills than any primary gun.
-
Oh my bad, I thought you were complaining that it literally wasn't a pretty piece of equipment. It could look better even with high settings, but then again a lot of things in game could. I feel that the idea wasn't to make a perfectly realistic ghillie suit but rather one that blends in with the average/higher average setting terrain (which is also not perfectly realistic). As for my graphics, I generally keep them down both for a consistantly smoother game play (don't have a top dollar machine) and to see the slightly more detailed people against the plain looking bushes/terrain.
-
I don't think it's designed to win any fashion shows, just survive.
-
Don't forget you can paint the green ghillie with black spraypaint to give it a more "mossy" look lol Also can confirm that the ghillie wrap goes on weapons such as the blaze and repeater. First person server (solo) so no good perspective pictures but here's the inventory view difference between woodland green and woodland black (aka mossy):

I applaud you for having the humility to share your mistake. I'm no PVP expert by any means but it did seem you took your sights off the stairs quite frequently (your primary point of entry for assailants). I can see you were probably looking around for other possible targets (out the window and whatnot) but knowing there was someone downstairs I'd have suggested keeping your sights trained on those stairs. I could be wrong but I'd guess the other side of the stairs might have been better. It might have put a little more distance between you and your target (accuracy) but where you were they knew you were there. If you were behind the stairs there would have been a 50/50 chance they wouldn't have seen you coming up. Additionally if you were behind the stairs you could train your sights on both the stairs and the room where people could have been logging in or something. Lastly you would have been away from the window where you may have been sniped. Another suggestion could have been in the room itself looking out the doorway to shoot people as they came up. This position would have probably been more of a surprise since most people either linger atop the stairs or on the other side of them as previously mentioned. The problem here would have been that you would lose sight of your enemy if they got up the stairs and ran to the other side (previously mentioned position) before you killed/disabled them. Just my opinion, take it with a grain of salt. I'm curious to see what other people suggest.

What functionality does the Gorka E Military Helmet actually have? Does it prevent melee knockouts like a motorbike/construction helmet? Does it have the same balistic properties as the balistic helmets? Is it a mix and if so, is it a perfect mix or partial mix of the two? Is it just one or the other or neither? I couldn't really find any reliable data on this thing and I am wondering if this is the new helmet to get or simply a new varient of something already in.
-
Yeah I have always kept a motorbike helmet with me to prevent melee-knockouts. It's pretty much indestructible to fists and zombies.
-
You probably could have ran there quicker than that.
