Just my opinion but... two mistakes you made. First, telling a guy you'd let him live and then be a douche and kill him. Second, not standing your ground and shooting the truck as it came at you. Shooting it as it drives away is for cowards!
-
Oh damn. I was hoping for "Yeah there was an epic firefight. I killed two people then my backup arrived. We took down three more guys but all my allies went down. Next thing I know, three trucks with decked out players charged the building. Out of ammo for anything else I decided to go out in a blaze of glory; I picked up my buddies pump action shotgun and opened the doors shooting."

Found a MP-133 Pistol Grip Shotgun
Maia (DayZ) replied to Kittys Go Meoww's topic in General Discussion
I don't think it fits in your bag. I found one in a police station. I used it to clear zombies out but then tossed it for an SKS. It looks neat but ultimately I think it's just the same as the MP-133 Shotgun. I could be wrong, it could be "faster" inbetween shots and more inaccurate but I didn't do much testing myself. -
Report it. Not much else you can do aside from stop playing.

Yeah, I always come across the ONE other guy on the server when I'm on low-pop servers like that but when I'm on maxed out 50/50 servers I can't find a soul. The other day, I was geared up in a ghillie and whatnot and logged into a server with one person on it. I found that one person. He proceeded to chase me all over Cherno taking shots at me until I lost him. Shortly after I lost him, he logged out. Better luck next time Alecs.

They were removed a while back if I remember correctly. There are just three random crashes per server now.

To the guy on a lonely German server two nights ago with only 4 people on. I couldn't remember your name, it started with a B. You were in Komarovo minding your own business half-decked in military clothing (military green backpack, TTSKO pants, ballistic helmet, gray(?) tactical shirt) and sporting an SKS. My pal and I saw you run down the road and into the police station. It was starting to get dark. You never saw me, but I saw you. My friend stood outside the front door of your police station with an AKM loaded and aimed. You came out and for a moment that police station was Armageddon. In the end you died and my friend had a bullet in his chest, alive. We took a couple bullets and your pants then proceeded to hide your body. I am sorry that we killed you on sight despite the fact you were probably harmlessly looting and headed in the opposite direction. You see, we were on ghillie guard duty and one does not take chances on ghillie guard duty. ------------------------------------------------------- P.S. To the guy we saw south of Berezino possibly three nights ago. You were in gray civilian clothing that killed a friend of mine on sight with a shotgun and proceeded to chant "Get wrecked scrub," yeah we aren't sorry we killed you. I hope you were still conscious as my friend took a poo on your face 8D Also your friend that tried to shoot me in the back: horrible shot; you were a mile off. This was you dead on the ground if you recall:

I just hope advanced communication consists of megaphones and graffiti.

Third Person View should be Over-the-Shoulder, NOT a bird's eye view.
Maia (DayZ) replied to Rags!'s topic in General Discussion
This for me. Just this. I play 1st pp servers as much as I can but ultimately I am very limited on how long I can play because of this. -
Was pretty epic considering it was with his final breath that we saw the shooter go down lol Not to mention he was using a sporter. Probably one of the most dramatic endings in a dayz video I've seen
-
Good idea but not in the game yet. I would love to see the ability to sneak up behind someone and grip the life out of them. Of course I think you should be able to resist somehow too
-
That was awesome lol is it just me or did the shooter at the last moment of the video fall down? I feel like in that very last frame right before the main character dies you can see the attacker fall forward. Also, videos like this, I can't give enough beans.

I'm curious to know what happened next lol

Peter: Original DayZ Standalone Build on Experimental for Christmas
Maia (DayZ) replied to Tatanko's topic in General Discussion
If the original launch of the game is released on exp, won't everyone be going crazy in Balota? I don't think it'll be too boring lol -
[Franky?] The DayZ Colony Experience
Maia (DayZ) replied to Weyland Yutani (DayZ)'s topic in Gallery
I actually enjoyed some of the peaceful moments of the video. Sitting around a campfire, swimming, hunting, and etc. -
Yeah, can confirm netting is definitely in existence on stable.

Oh I know it'll happen and I know I signed up for it. I also know I'll die several times before the reset so I'm not that worried. I think what bothers me is that this is the third hack-related wipe (since basic login duping was mostly fixed) that is happening and after those wipes nothing changed in terms of the hackers (from what I've seen on the forums). I am just being pessimistic that nothing will change this time either and all this will do is hurt the legitimate players while dupers just dupe their stuff immediately. Also, I honestly have only encountered hackers when the game was first released. Since then it hasn't been a problem for me and I do play pretty frequently in high-pop servers in hot-spot locations. I feel like it might be a problem blown out of proportion, especially by players. I see all the time when players get shot or die or even when new features like hypothermia are released people instantly blame hackers for their ignorance.
-
Technically both. The persistence on servers just have trouble respawning stuff. As a result, your chances of finding anything on a persist-on server are virtually impossible but not literally impossible. Persistence off servers are best. There are only like a handful and they are usually populated so it can be pretty risky.
-
Nice ghillie. That's pretty much how my character on stable is set up except with an AK74U instead of a handgun.
-
Hope you guys actually fix duping this time if you're going to keep resetting for it lol Especially with the addition of extremely difficult items to obtain like ghillie suits that legitimate players struggle to get and then lose several weeks later due to a January reset. Note: I don't really care, I die too often to care about any of my stuff but there are those who play the "hermit" style gameplay that will.

Hardcore vs. Regular (Different characters) - Still a Thing?
Maia (DayZ) replied to Gu1t4r_M4n's topic in General Discussion
1st person servers and 1pp/3pp servers are different hives and thus different characters. Switching won't hurt your characters. Also private servers have their own characters so you can still play whatever viewpoint you are used to if you are looking for a throw-away character for some quick fun -
I've seen like 250+ limits before but 150 is pretty ridiculous lol
-
They are on topic and stating their opinions. You seem desperate and spammy. Try not doing that and produce new original content.

Persistently boring empty servers.
Maia (DayZ) replied to ryanincalgary's topic in General Discussion
The majority of persistent servers are pretty boring. It does seems like people usually hop onto non-persist servers and gear up then either hide in the woods or hunt fresh spawns/bandits. The non-persist servers on the other hand are dangerous lately. In my experience thus far, non-persist servers are usually heavily populated by people looking for military loot/netting/gear and the only people I've come across are KOS or are betrayers looking for loot (more specifically, your loot). I like both persist (lack of loot/realism) and non-persist (more interaction/people not hiding) but hopefully they'll fix loot respawning and helicopter crashes soon which will balance out the player base among the two types. This is just my 2 cents. Obviously we are in Alpha and the game mechanics (loot distribution, persistence, etc) aren't nearly done and I try to look at the positives of both server types rather than the negatives for the time being.
