I found the gasoil to make it run in a Police station. You can still swing it without being able to turn it on with fuel but I'm positive it was doing more when it was on.

Just a fun little moment running into two guys trying to be paramedics. I hope no one murdered them in Cherno or Elektro. The last time I wore paramedic clothing someone shot me on sight!

I really enjoyed the middle part spotting and stalking those guys then pouncing when they were distracted by hunting. Nice selection of music track too.

I made an effort to recreate the Hero skin from the mod in Standalone back in January. Now, of course the Tactical Vest has been removed from the game and I haven't heard if it will ever be back but for now the black UK assault would suffice. With over 500 hours of Standalone under my belt I still choose to wear civilian clothing a good portion of the time. Sometimes it has influenced people to not shoot me on sight and other times it hasn't. That's just DayZ. I do feel that wearing head-to-toe camouflage all the time and skulking around definitely makes you look like more of a threat. Anyways check it out if you like.

I was going back through old footage for episodic content and came across the kill at the end of this episode. Whenever I watch it I can't help but wonder what the encounter looked like on the other guys' screen. I've seen teleport-like desync in front of me before but does anyone think that's what it looked like to the other guy?

This video is footage captured with maximum video settings and in-game rendering at 3840x2160 during my journey up to the new city of Chernaya Polana. The band is Ohio Sky from Cleveland, Ohio. I was inspired by this acoustic version of their song Van Gogh to make an atmospheric montage video of what it sometimes feels like running across the wilderness of Chernarus. I figured it out. I had turned my Post Processing to Very Low for gameplay and didn't notice when I shot the footage for this video. Ambient Occlusion isn't available on Very Low PP it must be on Low or higher. Thanks again for pointing that out I learned something!

NVidia and AMD have been updating their drivers so I decided to revisit my graphics settings and how they affect FPS in DayZ SA. I am running GeForce beta driver v. 337.50 on an MSI GTX 780 Lightning. I don't have empirical data from 2 or 3 months ago but based on current performance I think the game is performing better. I swore I turned ambient occlusion on but sure enough I just checked the menu and it's disabled! Nice eyes!

I had to look all over to get good information about how to get the most from my hardware so I decided to try and put it all together in one video! I don't want EVERYTHING on the lowest possible settings so I try to explain which settings are important and which you can turn off. I know I don't have it all correct so if I don't have something quite right please let me know!

Sorry I replied in a hurry earlier and I missed some of your post. The answer is yes, if you make the file read-only they become persistent. Since I had my sceneComplexity at 500k every time I loaded the game my Objects under the Quality menu would be set at Normal instead of my preferred Very High. Now I keep it at the 1M level and if I need extra frames I will manually lower it.

Objects under Quality. It's the same setting as sceneComplexity= in your profile file in Documents/DayZ/YourName. I don't know the numbers specifically but Very High "Objects" is a value of 1000000 and I think Very Low "Objects" would be something like 100000.

I have my eyes firmly set on the new ROG Swift PG278Q. I see no point in getting a new monitor until I can get it with G-Sync. $800 though yipes.
