Vehicles will be added in time, if I remember the dev roadmap correctly. Though to be fair, the map gets small pretty quick when you're blazing around in a pickup etc... -

It's because of all the homicidal fresh spawns these days :) In all honesty though, I don't know how many times lately I've been wandering around looking for supplies with only an axe at best and I've been accosted by completely unarmed fresh spawns who sprint like maniacs toward me, stop dead a few feet away in a fashion that defies physics, then raise their fists and circle around me like ali looking for the K.O... I mean it ends 9 times out of 10 with their corpse at my feet having buried an axe into their skull, but I'm always perturbed while I get my breath back as to why they took the line they did lol... -
Interesting. While I would of course be happy with that amount of zombies, especially given their somewhat sparse population currently, I would hope through whatever means in the future that number could be pushed up significantly. With 54 (iirc) towns across the map, it really means just 55 zeds per town type area on average, with none to spare for the wilderness. Now of course 55 zeds would be overkill for a lot of the very small hamlets, but I would imagine it would take considerably more than that to give places like elektro and cherno the same sort of population density that most would ultimately envisage.

Ah, I didn't know that Rocket had spoken to the overall style he'd like for the horde in general, good to know. I did enjoy the setup in the mod also, with the combination of sprinters/shamblers/crawlers, as it felt like a good balance. Still, and its just personal preference, I would have liked to see a time when dayz had thousands of shamblers, making movement in low density areas easy but making it incredibly difficult/hazardous in high density areas. I had thought that using large proxy meshes, containing maybe 7-8 zombies could be implemented, to save so many zeds from melting gpu's. Oh well, I suppose given Rockets thoughts on the matter, getting back to the mods setup would be ideal then...

Normally about 25-50, though these days there has been a lot inside of the 25m marker. A lot of point blank blasts to the brain for me lately :(

If you had a choice though, would you prefer hordes of Romero style zombies, or the whole rage virus/28 days later style deal? I mean putting aside engine limitations, lag, gpu performance etc... I just ask because I'm wondering if people have accepted the limitations of the engine, and are seeking the optimal way of making the zeds a threat, or, do they genuinely prefer the faster animalistic style zeds? Personally I've always preferred the romero slow rolling "if theres enough of us you're fucked" style...

For some reason I can never get the sporter, a clip and ammo all at the same time... I'll usually find 2 out of 3 and then just be left like that lol. Almost every time I find a mag for the .22 its almost like a guarantee that I wont find the gun... Dunno how long I've walked around with a single round chambered in the sporter lusting after a mag while carrying pocketfuls of loose .22 ammo..

Are snipers the most harmless thing in DayZ?

Tbh I rarely even consider the threat of snipers around the place these days. After a while you can tell the likely positions that someone with a long gun is going to be at in a given area based on its sight lines etc, and you get used to avoiding giving anyone in these positions los on you by routing around them. Even on 40/40's its been a while since I got a *crack*... *crack* as I've moved around. Getting blasted in the face from 10 feet away on the other hand happens quite often :P -
I'll only help people out when I can completely control the situation, and always let people know to leave 5-10 feet between us. I'll usually ask someone to stay seated or keep their hands up if I have to go into my bag to get something for them. If they make any hasty moves or really do anything that looks iffy, immediate bullet to the head..

Oh.. alrighty then :) I've noticed that the weapon selection is getting better in SA for sure, but whenever I see a weapon being added I lose my excitement pretty fast when I remember how most things shoot atm :( -

Lol, as I said they are worth about $140-160, not that that's what you'd pay if you were a big enough moron to actually buy a new one from a place like newegg or any large U.S of retailer for that matter... I'm constantly shocked by how badly people are ripped off for comp parts these days, and then they think they're getting a good deal because they can find a similar price from a rip-off chain store... :-/
