    So I just suicided by walking off the ledge of the second level, if you can even call it that, of the Otmel boathouse and landing in water. Why are we not remotely affected by anyone trying to kill us with anything other than an axe or a bullet, but we seem to be made of glass when we fall short distances?

  4. How many pipe wrench hits does it take to kill someone? I find melee weapons other than the fireaxe to be a waste of time.
  5. Bag masks are not something that everyone can use. It's not as easy as it looks, but I suspect you already know that. ;)

    Sometimes items fall through the ground. It was a sad day the first time I lost an ammo can this way. Thankfully, I realized that 556 ammo is far from sparse and began to just throw it away to keep it out of the hands of others.

    Quit trying to piss in the sandbox. Progression? Really? REALLY? The idea that someone that just bought the game is just about as dangerous as someone that's been playing for years is what makes this game. You want to add levels? Devs don't even like interfaces. We get text messages stating our current condition rather than a hud, and you think they're going to want to add a leveling system? This is a sandbox, not a theme park. You're worried permadeath will kill the game? Let me tell you something. Making this game into every other game will kill this game. As far as loot goes, we're in alpha and we know that zombies are far from final. I think it's going to be a lot harder to just run back to your corpse to get your stuff, unless you're one of the cool kids that never leaves Balota.

    I 100% agree. Fall damage has to be in, but the current implementation leaves a lot to be desired. I like the idea of weight being taken into account, but I don't think the game is at all set up for that now. Down the road it would be nice, since it would make sense that a heavier load will make you hungry/thirsty earlier. Jumping from a single story (normal single story) should be a very, very low chance of breaking a leg. I'm not advocating that all short falls should be survivable. I'm all for a very, very low percentage of death being given. All I'm saying is that I used to jump off a friend's roof as a kid, and I'm still here typing. I never broke a leg either.

    DayZ without permadeath would be pointless. If you can't handle the losses, then this isn't the type of game for you. Without permadeath, death becomes meaningless and the game is a lot shorter.

  19. As I'm running my most enjoyable loot route today, I noticed something disturbing. There were 357s EVERYWHERE. The firehouse at the NW airfield had 5 of them in one room. Considering the 357 ammo is less plentiful than shotgun ammo, wouldn't it be better to tone down the spawn rate? Does anyone know how to throw 357s at people? I know they're relatively heavy, so it should hurt a bit. Replace the gold coins with 357s and you have me.

    I'm thorough. I pick up all the ammo I see, save for shotgun rounds, to dump in the woods. I actually dumped a full ammo can today, because I'll likely never use the ammo from the 3 full ones I have or the mags that I have. I'll just have to keep looking. Maybe I'll find a treasure. The guns are plentiful to the point that you can trip over them. The ammo seems scarce in comparison.
  21. Again, if everyone is forced to go to NWAF, then why would Balota be a high profile spot? Balota is a noobtrap.

    Clearly you're fortunate on the 357 ammo front, as I'm not the only one with the issue finding 357 ammo. Yes, I haven't been to Balota in ages. I spend my time up north.

    Because 357s are about as common as cans of soda, but the ammo is less common than shotgun ammo?
  25. If everyone is forced to go to the NWAF, then why are you heading down south to Balota?
