I would be up for joining you guys, although i prefer teamspeak and i am kinda new to dayz. Location central europe -
2 questions: What is the avg age of this group? How serious do you plan to do this role playing?

I would also recommend you open regular arma 2 or arrowhead and pass air combat trainings...

Hello... i have decided to try dayz mod (after playing standalone - dont hate me), and i am trying to decide which mod to play. I have been watching many Epoch/overpoch series on youtube for about a year now, and i really like those, but i would still like some more info. 1. What is the difference between Epoch overpoch or vanilla? 2. What other mods are popular and fun to play? Thanks

It all began with trying to install the update throught steam. Nothing was happening, the download didnt even start so i tried uninstalling DayZ SA and then redownloading it throught steam. Having high speed fibre optics net i didn´t think it would be an issue, however, when i try to start downloading/installing it again, all steam does is put up the window with "preparing dayz files for install..." in it with the 3 dots flashing and nothing else happening...
-
Yeah but now the issue is, it doesnt even start downloading the entire game Yes, yes, yes, and yes and yes... :(

Anybody else having problems downloading the patch throught steam? Cause when i click "Downoad the update" it immediatelly goes to "Ready to lauch in approximately: 0 seconds", no download no nothing and i can´t start the game. Its been like that for an hour now... -_- EDIT: New develepmemt i tried deleting the local content and re-downloading, but when i do, steam just stays at "Preparing for install" And nothing happens... >:( >:( -

And how about you finally fix it, so that dead or unconcious bodies do what dead or unconcious bodies do normally? Which is, well... Nothing?? -
Lol... just lol... When you decide to rent a server and pay for it, there are rules that you first have to accept. if you decide to accept them and proceed with the payment, get the server up and running and then start breaking the rules you agreed to, that server should be shut down. Simple as that.

I wonder if this will ever be implemented... Cause, while it is realistic, and cool (i didn´t know you could do this) it would break down the entire canned food complexity. You would just walk up to the nearest road, or find a stone and be done with it. EDIT: ok as i was kindly and thoughtfully told, that this video has already been posted here, well squeeze me. Im new here and didn´t know...

Hey there! I wonder if it would be possible (complicated, or simple work) To introduce some minor articles of clothing or attachments, that would help players recognise each other. I´ll give an example Say you find a red T-Shirt and a yellow raincoat. Tearing them into rags would not create standart rags, but rather colored rags. And tearing those colored rags further would craft them into colored ribbons. Afterwards you could just pin on both your arms for example "red, yellow, red" ribbons, and your buddies would instantly know it was you (or an excellent infiltrator). Each article of clothing would have an attachment slot (lets call it shoulderpad), on which you would insert your ribbons. I think this is a reasoneable, realistic, and mostly very simple idea to implement (development-wise speaking). No icons, no playernames, just an article of clothing simple enough to make with your bare hands. + for pros, this would add some infiltration elements into the game. What do you guys think?
-
Yeah i thought somebody must have suggested something like this by now... :| But well in none of those threads there was much about how the system could actually work or using multible ribbons, so at least thats new :3 EDIT: Come to think of it, you wouldn´t have to put those ribbons on your arm, you could put them on your leg, helmet or even gun...

Lol... if you had more than 2 brain cells you would realize just how stupid is, what you just posted. 1) If you have 15 warning points on those, You should have been perma banned 3 times already, and seing what you wrote to me its because you QQ, rage and insult others too much. Im guessing 15 years old. 2) There are no World of WARSHIPS (not battleships, the game was renamed a year ago and entered alpha two months ago) access keys and i doubt there will be any for at least a year. If you want access to that you need to convince WG you are competent... 3) And about that last part: The point of selective alpha rectuiment is to get only people serious about testing into that alpha.. Any moron can get into alphas like this one, when you can pay for entry. You are a perfect example of that

I realize that some people here are "special", but can you at least READ??
-
Oh yes. Alpha and beta games live and die with steam. FYI only reason i still use steam, is because i got some free games for it and recently i got DayZ SA through it, which was the only way. I have been in beta of World of tanks, and a Closed alpha tester of World of Warplanes, CAT of World of Warships at this very moment, Closed alpha tester of war thunder and many others. And those aren´t the kind of games where any moron can buy his way into the test, you need to prove you are responsible and competent. I couldn´t care less how many games you bought your way in on steam or how big your e-peen has grown. HOWGH. I shall say no more to you, for it reduces my IQ considerably every time i even read one of your posts.
-
You have no idea how many alphas/betas ive been in. Before i knew about this forum i reported all that stuff on steam forum (for example). It continues to amaze me, how many morons are quick to judge a person based on few lines of text and in their arrogance dont even bother finding out more about that person. In my former post i listed 3 very frustrating events, caused by bugs, that need to be fixed ASAP and i also reported them, or posted in threads of people who already reported them. And by break i meant i will wait about 2 weeks to A: cool off, B: for a couple of patches to come out and see what they fix and how fast DayZ SA is progressing. So yeah. Before you open your mouth again and start embarrasing yourself, think twice about what you are going to say.

Personally im taking a break from the game now as well. So far i went through 3 characters, not one of which died normally. The first one simply died while walking on stairs with no other player in the vicinity. Second one i lost, because the character didnt save, and third one i lost when i was looting a jail and clipped through a wall on the first floor, falling to my death (which is ridiculous in itself... 1st floor..) All 3 of those things happened when i already have spent considerable amount of time gearing that character up and basically playing the "trecking simulator 2013/14". The third time i had just found an M4 (which ive been searching for for past couple of hours) and as soon as i equipped it i clipped through a wall, into the air and died from falling 2.5 meters. so, yeah... Time for a break.

Basically what you are complaining about: "Even if i pay for server, i can´t use it to get easy loot? whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?"
-
If you´re not enforcing, those rules are pointless, because people have no reason to follow them... I have actually seen servers, that are public, no password, that have description: "Friend server no-join or kick by admin"... I mean how patethic is that. I think this calls for enforcement, otherwise it breaks the whole careful-not-to-get-killed-and-lose-your-gear thing... Man what a patethic excuse for a guy, that admin and his "staff" was...

(NOTE: If anyone knows about a place where devs are more likely to read this, please put it as a comment below) I wonder if it is planned, or not, but i would really like to see this implemented... That we would be able to have more than one character in the memory of our account. For example on serious one and one for casual playing. Right now i have a character that i use, when we play as a group, hunting bandits and protecting/helping new spawns, and torturing (xD) spawn campers. But since we have a sort of "policy" we dont play/move without the group (we log in and out together), i don´t want to play that character alone, so i would have a second character, which i would play when im alone and want to play DayZ. PS. If this is already possible, i didn´t find a way to do it, and would appreciate help. Thanks. EDIT: ___________________________________________________________________________ Ok since people who post here are probably too slow "special", to first read the thread thoroughly and THEN post i will put it here. Basically as a countermeasure to obvious abuse of this I came up with the solution, that one user ID (which every user has a unique one) would be able to have multiple DayZ standalone characters tied to it. Once a user ID logs into a certain server, that server will remember the character the user ID logged in with and will not permit that user ID to log in with a different character until after restart. This would make up for the fact, that in DayZ mod, when you switched server, you started anew, so basically multiple characters were implemented in DayZ mod. I would just change server and play alone, then when my friends would be playing again, i would join the former server and play with them again.
-
you can do s**t like that right now only its a bit more complicated... when you want to cheat your way around the game you will always find a way. I think majority of people would invite this without doing that kind of stuff...
-
another one who doesn´t bother to read the thread and posts his BS ignorantly...
-
Yes... you missed the point of this suggestion. I basically propose, that it would be possible to have multiple characters tied to one user ID and that once one of those characters logged into a server, the other characters tied to his user ID wouldnt be able to log into that server until it restarted... WHY THE **** DO YOU BOTHER POSTING THIS BS, WHEN YOU DONT EVEN BOTHER READING THE THREAD? With what i said what you suggested would be impossible...
-
There is a thing called user ID... DayZ would use that to see to it that one user does not log in with more than one character into one server (neither at the same time, nor singly). That wouldn´t effect more users playing on one PC.
