You forgot the melee system. That is by far my biggest annoyance with DayZ for me.

Disabling shadows gives an unfair advantage to those who disable them. Same goes for post processing, most people disable this, but it is a huge part of the game, knowing how low your health is. But honestly this is all just an alpha thing. By beta, you wont be able to disable these things and it will be a level playing field for all. I will look for the stream I heard Dean say that he is going to change this later on and that being able to disable shadows and post processing is only temporary and is only allowed now for performance reasons. Eventually when the game is running at a stable 60fps (believe it when I see it, lol!) then disabling those settings wont be allowed anymore since people with low end PC's will be able to run DayZ without issues.

People that hack need that much ammo because they are horrible at the game. lol! Probably hacks. But I guess it could be some weird duping glitch? I would report it and drop it in the ocean or somewhere it cant be found. This could very well be a hack, or it could be some sort of glitch I guess? Anyways, I hope this doesn't start appearing more in the near future.

1st person too zoomed in when aiming?
TEST_SUBJECT_83 replied to martink8190@gmail.com's topic in General Discussion
I use the "- (num)" to gain a little FOV while ADS. It's not much but does help. This is tricky to explain so bare with me. By default "- (num)" is set to zoom out, and you can also toggle it with "-(num) x2" Now, I delete the momentary one and change the toggle to a single press of "-(num)". Then I set my default FOV lower to compensate for the amount that I just gained from toggling zoom out, which now gives me the same FOV as I had before toggling, but I gain that extra zoom when ADS. All this does is give you a closer view when ADS, which is the opposite of what the OP is saying, but wanted to share this weird trick without starting a new topic. -
Rolling Update Rev - 0.43.116251
TEST_SUBJECT_83 replied to Hicks_206 (DayZ)'s topic in News & Announcements
Its a weird bug that only happens sometimes. One server I will have a glitched sight just like kawa was saying, and then if I re-log or switch to another server it works fine, or doesn't. It seems to be random. I noticed when it is glitched and you cant see the scope/sight, adjust your FOV lower and it will magically appear, but the texture will be blurry. -
Nope...Thats Jimmi playing air guitar. :D

Ya, lets make melee twice a shitty!

Loot spawning idea - an idea that makes everyone happy.
TEST_SUBJECT_83 posted a topic in Suggestions
Ok, so we have people that want loot to spawn at random, and we have others that want it to be as it is now, predictable. Rope in a shed, M4's in a barracks, things that make sense. Now I agree with the ladder myself, I can see why people would want loot to be spawned at random. It would remove memorization of loot routes and add that sense of confusion and that feeling of not knowing, which is important in a game like DayZ. So I said to myself, why not have both? Why not keep it the way it is now, but add a percentage of random buildings in every town that can spawn anything. So a house that normally spawns canned food and clothes would now have a chance to randomly place any item anywhere in that house. So not only would the buildings that are chosen to have the random loot be chosen at random, but the placement of said item would have a chance of spawning anywhere in the building it's in. Now, it wouldn't all be entirely random. Guns would have a much less of a chance of spawning and things like rope and burlap would have a higher chance. So now you can still have your route that you normally take, but now you never know what you might find on your way. Thought's? Additions? Problems? I'm sure there is someone out there who can find a reason why I'm a douche bag for having this idea, lol! Edit: This idea is mainly to give people a reason to search every house. M4's would not be found in random houses very often, if at all. They would be extremely rare to find outside an airfield or police station. I would like to see most guns found in residential houses to be in a locked gun case or cabinet. -
I agree, plus no one has a clear 180 degree fov. Your peripheral vision is blurry and unclear unless you move your eyes left or right. No one can actually clearly see in 180 degrees. FPP = More hardcore and intense gameplay. Not everyone wants an intense hardcore experience with dayz, unfortunately. 3PP is a crutch that teaches you bad habits, and bad habits die hard.

Take photos and make a bug report if you havent already.

Standalone Priorities - The Big One
TEST_SUBJECT_83 replied to BadContrakt's topic in General Discussion
Stopped reading after this: "Does anyone else feel as though the Dayz SA developers have their priorities way out of whack? I completely understand that this is an ALPHA - It's still just a fetus of a game - but my points are still valid." You have no idea what is more important and needs attention first. -
Yeah everyone including Dean knows that this is an issue. My girlfriend who doesn't play games knows this. This will obviously get fixed, but we have to trust that they have other priorities that need attention first and we will have to wait until it gets fixed. PS: The gate sound is not a bug. It is part of the ambient sounds along with that cow eating grass sound too.

Loosing my character is no big deal anymore. I am so used to it. Some people get sooo upset, lol! I understand, Im just jaded.

What if DayZ ran on the Snowdrop Engine
TEST_SUBJECT_83 replied to joeymp's topic in General Discussion
Screw the Snowdrop engine! -
Both Stable and Experimental are unplayable for me. I try to join and get a solid yellow chain when I finally do get in and get 0 FPS. Most of the time I don't even get in and get stuck at "please wait" Been on a break from DayZ for the past week...looks like it's gonna last a little longer.

Soon we will be able to spray paint rags and tie them around our arms and match colors with our team mates. Or something similar to this. I heard Dean talk about it in a stream I saw a while back.
-
I would only like to see this option available once the "starving" status is started. Or else there would be no need for any tools to open cans with.

How are people currently getting around this strange design flaw?
TEST_SUBJECT_83 replied to uberfrag's topic in General Discussion
Rain will not be so frequent later on. It is being tested now and is happening way more than it will in the Beta/Final build. -
It would be one of those little things that make DayZ so awesome. I hope this gets added in the future.

Basically I think it would be cool for each backpack to have 3 textures, empty, half full, and stuffed like they are now. Then we could see our packs grow, plus it would make more sense to find an empty backpack that actually looks empty. Obviously not something that needs to happen anytime soon, but I hope things like this get attention in the Beta phase. What do you think? Any suggestions or other ideas along these lines?

Dynamic Backpacks - 3 textures per backpack.

I believe you are correct! -
Bootcamp or possibly after it's 100%done. But honestly I doubt it will ever come to Mac.

What animations would add depth and immersion to the game?
TEST_SUBJECT_83 replied to Roshi (DayZ)'s topic in Suggestions
For me it's opening your inventory and changing clothes. IMO, every time you open your inventory you should knell down and open your backpack. Clothes should also make you stop to change them. You should not be able to rearrange your inventory and change clothes while running through a field.
