It should take a lot of body shots to kill a zombie IMO. Headshots only for one hit kills make sense. But the fact that they are programmed so shitty is why every time they get harder they also get "cheaper" for lack of a better term. If we had "normal" behaving zombies along worth a functional melee system, we would be asking for them to be harder. I just with we could have a real weighty melee system, where every items weight is factored in and swings accordingly. Each type of melee weapon should have it's own type of swing (they sort of already do). Pretty much as close to Dark Souls combat as possible, but I know Im just dreaming and nothing even close to that good could ever be in DayZ.

Your bullet hit right away, but the zombie didn't fall for a few seconds. Seems like the farther away you are the longer a delay it can have. I have experienced this quite a few times.

Gamma exploit, and the fact that nighttime is currently to dark. If the flashlights worked realistically and had a wider beam that fades out the darkness wouldn't be so bad. But with complete blackness and narrow beam of light from the flashlight, it makes nighttime quite un-enjoyable IMO.

Your just used to that 8 foot tall floating camera in 3rd person, lol! It does feel slightly short when compared to windows in some building and the grass is really tall, but everything is to scale. I just think some of the buildings windows are a little to high. -
Didn't see this in the search function, but Im sure it's been suggested in the past, so sorry if you have seen this idea before. I know Chernarus like the back of my hand and it would be so nice to have the map randomly generated once a week or moth or whatever, could be an admin controlled thing, I dunno. I just think that in a syrvival game the feeling of not knowing is important and precedurally generated maps would make DayZ freakin amazing IMO. Maybe it can be a mod down the road, but if it was an option in the actual game I think it would keep DayZ fresh for a lot longer than it already will be. I mean Chernarus isn't very varied in terms of the landscape so I could see this working. This obviously isn't a priority but it's just an idea I had and wanted to put it out there. Again, this is just an idea so don't get all defensive if you don't like it.

I agree, it wouldn't have the same feel of care and detail, but it would keep things fresh. If something like this happens it would most likely be a mod for sure. It would just be so nice to not know where to go in DayZ again. -
I dont use Post Processing, because it blurs everything to much for me. But, if you do use Post Processing, then I can see this being an issue.

Its for clearing rooms indoors. Now you can see around you while clearing a room and still be ready to shoot. Thats why when you press RMB it goes back to normal. Before this you couldnt clear a room while ADS, it was to zoomed. Now it works perfectly. You just need to get used to it. Please people, don't start bitching to the devs to change this back, because it really is a great addition. FYI: Now you can change your FOV lower to compensate for the zoom change if you want and gain that extra zoom when you press RMB. But I like it the way it is now, once you clear a room with this new perspective you wont be able to go back, IMO.

Yeah it would be great in any zombie game. Anyone that doesn't want it is just weird to me. It is a zombie game! I mean c'mon. If you watched a zombie movie without gore(that isn't a comedy or some shit) it would be disappointing to say the least. The reason we will never see it is because of the engine Dayz is on. Don't think dismemberment and gore would come out satisfying enough to make it worth it.

I never use the hotbar for the compass. Just "inspect" it from your inventory, it tracks your position from there as well.

If you actually paid attention to the forums and the last Dev-Blog you would have heard Dean talk about this specifically, and that they are working on having no log out timer for those that get disconnected or join the same server. But instead of educating yourself or asking someone here like an adult, you post a rant thread like a child and make yourself sound stupid for not paying attention to the info provided to us all. Have some patience it's alpha! ...and do some research before you rant about something that is getting fixed. -
I agree! It amazes me how people just don't get it, and feel like they are owed something for buying into the alpha. If you bought DayZ then you payed to test the game. It is not finished, how does this concept of alpha confuse so many?

I'm pretty sure it's all for testing. Eventually guns and food will be extremely rare and we will be forced to hunt and craft. So what little food is there will need to re-spawn after while because servers wont reset after 2 to 4 hours. Eventually we will have persistent servers where they wont reset, so re-spawning loot will be a necessity. I know there's still gonna be public servers, but I don't think they will reset so soon, but I could be wrong. -
Headshots are still one hit kills. Headshots seem to act the same as before. Honestly this is the way it should be...if the melee system felt right and your hits actually connected and it felt like you were actually making contact with the zombies instead on flailing around spinning in circles trying to hit the fuckin things. At least give us a horizontal attack so we can hit them while strafing. But since the melee system is something you'd expect from a game in 1991, we have to keep it as simple as possible.

I think it is for clearing rooms while ADS. The zoom compensates for it. When you ADS now it is zoomed out slightly and when you hold RMB it becomes the "normal" distance, like it was before. I think this is a great change and helps immensely when ADS indoors. But I can understand you being put off by it, but IMO it is to help with aiming indoors, but I could be wrong.

They need to just shut down the alpha and all the servers. Take the next 3 months and everything they've learned from testing and really hunker down and get some actual work done on the Standalone. Maybe have a closed Alpha testing where a few hundred people that actually care, and play the game with bug finding in mind instead of bambi ganking and wiping out the tents before anyone else does.
