I dont think thats an issue? 2. is where you logged out. 2. is where you character sat down for 30 sec. 3. is the spot you returned to the game. You would only be visible when you pop back in, in which case you can just start running to your next location. -

Just because someone logs in at or near an airfield means nothing! I have had my server reset at an airfield so many times it's ridiculous. I have even had it reset while standing upstairs in the camo jail cells, not a good place to spawn in when you can find your last server and you need to join a new one where you have no idea if someone else is there or not. Yes, people server hop the airfields all the time, BUT you can't assume that everyone that spawns into an airfield is a SH. Should you kill them or not is up to you, but they may not be an evil SH. -
The only way I would agree with doubling the player count is if the devs filled out the North end of the map with another big city and a few more good size towns, then add 3 or 4 spawn points up there, and I feel that would give the north end some life and spread out the population, so the middle would still feel "empty" because there will be more cities up north with spawn points, so people would hang around there just like they do at the cost for PvP and to be fresh spawns that wish they were Rocky Balboa.

I think you should have to find a proper holster before you can carry a second weapon. Being able to just stick an axe to your back is ridiculous, IMO. Holsters and straps should be somewhat rare, but you could also craft a makeshift strap from some rope so you can use a second weapon early on without getting frustrated not being able to find a proper strap/holster.

I have never died from climbing a ladder....stairs on the other hand are a different story.

Gore would be so satisfying as a sniper! Im all for it as long as it's done right. Not over the top, the more subtle the better, and then every once in a while you get a decapitation or a head shot that takes half of they're head away. I would like the real gory shit to be very rare and very well done. Most os the time it wouldn't be that gory, unless your using an axe or a chainsaw, of course.

Complicated? I was going for as simple as possible. Im no dev or pretend to know anything about coding but, I know the game already tracks where you got hit due to the blood spurt from the exact location of your body So I figured they could make a hit box around the backpack and a box around the players inventory that represents the hit box on the players back and have them synced with each other so when the top right corner of the backpack gets hit the top right corner of whats in the inventory will be hit. Again from the picture you can see it's just remembering the location from where the bullet entered the backpack in relation to the yellow box and using that location to put over your inventories yellow box and damage any items that are in that spot. -

Like I told BobDa, forget about the controls and just look at the idea and how it would help in the game. It could be the hotbar key of your choice. I just thought "R" would be in a better position, but controls can be remapped so it really shouldn't be an issue at the idea stage. Edit: Double post, my bad, should have used MultiQuote. :P -

Overboard?...really?...explain please. I find pressing "2xR" to quickly pull out whatever pistol you have in the chest holster quite simple and efficient. Thats basically all I was suggesting. Only it acts differently when you have a primary in your hands already or if your running, or climbing a ladder Forget about the controls for now, those can be whatever, I'm just talking about when you wear a chest holster it allows you to use your pistol quickly in tight situations. No offence at all, but I fail to see what is so "overboard" about this idea? -
They are not all poisonous. They have a chance of being poisonous, a pretty good chance actually, but not 100% The berries are not for random food, they are for when you are starving to death and you dont have a choice, so you either die or take a chance on some berries. Thats how I see berry picking in DayZ.

Dean himself is excited for bows. He has said this many times. He wants them in as bad as anyone, so be patient if bows can happen they will happen. Once bows and other improvised weapons are introduced, thats when military weapons will be drastically decreased from spawning.

I was thinking something similar, but instead of a "random square" getting picked I was thinking the location you were hit on your backpack would directly correspond with what inventory square got "picked" to be damaged. I made this pic to better clarify. As you can see the where ever you get hit on your backpack will directly correspond to the location of the damaged item in your backpack. This same mechanic could be used for the rest of your body and its contents in relation to where you physically get hit. For those that cant see the obvious, the yellow box represents the edge of the backpack, and the red circles represent where you were hit and what was damaged. -
I fully support this as someone that enjoys playing a lonewolf now and again.

Thats not what I meant. The fact that he's sitting down means he just combat logged. If Im after someone that just sits down all of a sudden, then Im gonna enjoy the hell out of putting 60 rounds into his body! -
I think it would be cooler if you could create one out of a vest and some grenades attached to a dead mans switch.

No, This is a game that has no consequences, no penalties, and the freedom to be or do whatever you want. Thats part of the magic of DayZ. There should not be or never be anyway of telling what kind of person someone is, just like it is IRL.
