Stringing up rope between two trees or something similar to hang up your clothes might be a cool way to dry them off faster. You may need to find nails and a hammer too depending if your attaching the rope to something you can tie it around, or if it is a wall, doorway, or something similar, but that may be unnecessary. Would be sweet IMO to have a tent and a campfire with your laundry hanging up close to the fire between two trees. :D

[Graphics] Why does my horizon look weird?
TEST_SUBJECT_83 replied to DerDuderich's topic in General Discussion
It is the weather system. It is actually quite impressive and it was the first thing that I noticed when I got back on Dayz. I took about a 3 month break after selling my gaming laptop and saved up for my current PC. (i7-4790k with a Corsair H110, Asus Z97 Deluxe mobo, 780ti-sc, 32gb Corsair Vengeance, Cooler Master V850 PSU, in a Corsair 650d) Along with the frame rate I definitely noticed a difference in the weather and the way the game looked in the horizon. Night time clouds look better too, but clouds in general move a little to fast IMO. So happy to see the progress that happened in the past 3 months and Im sooooo glad to be playing Dayz at playable frame rates. -
Movement controls detrimental to gameplay in 0.47 patch
TEST_SUBJECT_83 replied to Ninja_Meh's topic in General Discussion
You can sprint with a gun aimed ILR right? Your aim will be horrible but we can still do it. I say let us have the option to run and strafe while aiming, at least from the hip. ADS while running doesn't make sense to me, but having the option to spray down some cover fire while running seems like an option we should have. -

Anyone else have horrible framrate? I went from my normal 20 in cites and 30 to 40 in the forest, to 5fps in the forest and haven't even tried a town yet. -
Why no suicide button when broken legs?
TEST_SUBJECT_83 replied to maninthewall's topic in General Discussion
No, if your in the woods, all you have to do is look at the ground and use your scroll wheel to "collect kindling" No tools necessary! :) Trees, the ground and certain bushes all have sticks now. Tress need an axe, bushes need an axe or a machete, and the ground doesn't need anything. -

I agree, and the burlap sack should also allow for 2 or 3 slots IMO. -

Thats how it seems to be for me as well. They just need to make the sway a bit smoother and less jerky. But my 20fps in cites cant help much in that area either. -

Has anyone else noticed that when you walk left while aiming through a LRS that it is 100% steady and has no sway whatsoever? -

So whats your point? -
EDITED - PETITION: Should a sound be made when we log on and off?
TEST_SUBJECT_83 replied to Grimey Rick's topic in General Discussion
Someone popping in to existence out of nowhere makes NO sense and is "highly unrealistic" too, so thats why people want it. -

I did. Nothing came up. The search function isn't perfect. I ALWAYS use it before posting. Thanks for making sure though :) -
EDITED - PETITION: Should a sound be made when we log on and off?
TEST_SUBJECT_83 replied to Grimey Rick's topic in General Discussion
As the title says. This was a extremely necessary feature that let someone know if a server hopper or someone that got disconnected was logging in right behind you or in your immediate area. Now that this is gone you have no way of knowing if someone just logged in 5 feet from you. Taking that feature out was an extremely stupid move by the devs IMO. I dont get how they didn't realize how important that sound was. Please, bring it or something similar back. -

Get used to it. This is the way dayz is supposed to be. -
I think the addition of hunting and cooking are amazing and have the potential to add a great deal of depth to survival in DayZ. But with the abundance of food spawning everywhere, no one really has any real reason to hunt or fish, taking up the inventory space and your melee slot for supplies just to role play, because role playing a survivalist or hunter is the only reason to use those mechanics really, at least IMO. I would love to "have to" kill an animal for a backpack and chop down some trees to make a fishing pole or bow and arrow to get my character started. That kind of gameplay is awesome! Yes I can do that now, but it is much easier and faster to just loot almost any house for food. I have a feeling that this is actually on the road map and will happen, it's just the dev's haven't got to it yet. I mean .45 was just released to stable so there is plenty of hope. So, am I wrong? You guys think it would be better if food was extremely rare? Or should it be a Hardcore only feature? What do you think?
-
I have never seen this one before, and its the only one of this type that Ive seen so far. Forget the location. So, is it new or did I just completely miss this house in the 700+ hours Ive been playing this game? lol!
-
What do I mean? :I I have never noticed this house before in all my hours with the SA and was just asking if it was a standard house used throughout Chernarus, or if it was a rare house only used a few times in the SA.
-
Well yeah, lol! I was obviously referring to the Standalone. But, maybe I should have made a better title and not used the word "new"? lol! I wasn't sure if it was a rare house in the SA or maybe just the one was left over from Arma and not used throughout Chernarus like the other houses?

To people who think kiling bambis is wrong check this out
TEST_SUBJECT_83 replied to Slyguy65's topic in General Discussion
Dont know if any of you know this, but DayZ has no rules or right/wrong ways to play. I may not agree with it, but if someone wants to camp and kill fresh spawns only, or a bambi wants to knock out a fully geared players(which I think is always hilarious btw) then they should be able to, because thats the magic of DayZ. No rules, No right or wrong ways of playing. You can play solely to gear up an kill people or the opposite extreme, get a boonie hat, a fishing pole, splitting axe and some matches among a few other things and you can play as a survivalist that never touches a gun or an assault vest and just hunts and fishes and reads books by the fire. What other game caters to so many different playstyles? What other game can you sit and read an entire book while cooking up the fresh fish and deer that you just caught yourself with the improvised bow and arrow that you just crafted over the fire pit you made? Its all how you want to play and what you make of it. Everyone's different playstyles creates different gameplay situations for people to react to...That's Amazing! IMO Once vehicles and base building are in....holy shit! this game is going to be sooo good. Having to repair vehicles and build bases along with everything we can already do and all the things we haven't even heard of yet, will give us so much to do. The PVP dynamic will change up so that instead of 99% of everyone running around this huge map barley running into each other, just to gear up and die in PVP, we will have people repairing vehicles and building bases, fishing, hunting and cooking. People roaming about to find resources, having purposes instead of just gearing up to kill someone else. So many new goals for us to have and things for us to do. The interactions and experiences we have with each other will have so much more meaning behind it that PVP will become much more personal and intense then it has ever been. Anyways, Im running on here. TLDR, You cant tell people how to play DayZ. DayZ is what you make it and has no right or wrong ways to play. -
Do you want the new version of NEAF?
TEST_SUBJECT_83 replied to leefriendfield's topic in General Discussion
Needs to be a few crashed planes strewn about. Parts lying all around from the crash. Should have kept one hanger and just had a plane inside and no loot. An airfield needs a hanger :) Like it! Also loving the new inland spawn locations. -
Tired searching for a topic to add this to an existing topic instead of starting a new one, but I for some reason didn't see any when I made a search for "3rd person" Anyways, Exploiting 3rd person has been discussed to death here and many ideas have been suggested. None of which is an outright "fix" for the issue. 3rd person has been in games for many years and is a great way to play games. But DayZ being an open world PVP game, cover and hiding from players is a HUGE part of the game and being able to be safe and out of sight while you have full view of everything is kinda cheap IMO. Now Im not saying that this is THE idea, but wanted to share it and see what ya'll think of it. So what if when your character gets a certain distance from a wall, tree or anything that gives you cover you automatically go into 1st person? Or instead of a jarring switch that you cant control, I think a better solution may be, the closer you get to a wall the closer the camera gets over your shoulder until its right next to your head. That way its a gradual change instead of automatically switching which I could see people not liking. This way you get the best of both worlds IMO. You can see your character and for people that get motion sickness can have 3rd person and still keep things fair by not allowing to look over or around cover. I feel like this could actually work well. Please let me know why this may be a bad idea or just wont work. The only negative I can think of is the camera changing when running or walking past trees or objects, so maybe it could only apply to walls and buildings. People could still look around trees but honestly walls are the biggest problem IMO. What do you guys think? This is just a suggestion, no need to get defensive if you dont like it, if so tell me why and explain your reasons for hating it, please dont comment "no" unless you back it up with your reasons. Thanks.
