    Classsystem - Encouraging Teamplay

Not in support of a class system, game should be classless and people left to define their own roles by the items in their backpacks. Instead, assign people real time roles; designate a medic whos going to be carrying most of the medical supplies, a quartermaster for carrying food and water and then begin to define your squad; Squad Commander, Pointman, Marksman, Brawler etc. No need for the game to give you a label.

The last one is for myself

Press ESC > hit Respawn > You will die and be respawned in a starter area. Seems like the same idea you were poking at, no?
  3. So I've got two little bits of interest about the mod and the game itself (excuse me though I'm really uneducated about ArmA so bear with me here hehe) 1. DayZ is set in what time period? I'm curious because are we dealing with a STALKER timeline here? More modern? 1990's? 2000's? This brings me onto my second question; 2. Whats ArmA's capability with implementing other mods with author permission into DayZ? If this is a STALKER timeline, perhaps we could make the game look and reflect more of a STALKER universe? I'm getting at things like; seeing a platoon of these bad boys approaching and patrolling Cherno; Cheers guys. Alex

    DayZ Setting + ArmA Capabilities

There isn't a persistent world multiplayer PvP STALKER game, otherwise yeah I would be playing STALKER - unfortunately STALKER singleplayer can't satisfy my thirst for entertainment.

Good intiative. Maybe contribute some stuff myself!
  6. Really happy to see player contributions being put into the game, way to go Rocket!

A hub for trading, meeting and bearing.

Zombies doesn't make me PvP, the idea of combining the need for survival through the consumation of food and water and treating your characters needs and medical issues makes me want to PvP to stay alive. Zombies to me are quite a hinderance and I tend to avoid them rather than engage them. If the game focused its developed around PvP and Survival it would be incredible.

A hub for trading, meeting and bearing.

"Please hardcode a safe zone for us". It's a sandbox, gather a squad of players and set up your trade zones on servers, use sandbags and wiring fencing to create perimeters, set up protection teams and service teams. For goodness sake, WERE PLAYERS, LETS DO THINGS AND NOT HAVE THE GAME DO THINGS FOR US. "But its too much effort and bandits waaah"; set up in a area of situational BENEFIT - no ones asking you to set up in a major city with an unlimited amount of tactical points that any sniper could pop shot you at. Set your trading post up somewhere remote but where you can be located, try and set it up at the bottom of a hill so you can post your protection team on the highground. With all these hardcode suggestions people would think were playing WoW; c'mon guys lets be creative :/

    No more servers.

To be honest we NEED more servers, this mod has become a huge success and last night alone all the servers (besides the New Zealand and ANZ) ones were full; this meant there were at current 3000 players actually playing with probably thousands more wanting to connect. Everytime someone disconnects a new player joins practically instanteously, people hammer their enter buttons on servers just to get in. Besides new servers I think the mod needs some more optimization to increase loading and character retreival, also yeah the forums load pretty slow most of the time yet the database is under capacity?

    NON-PVP server ?

Unfortunately some people aren't looking at the bigger picture on the consequences of having PvE and PvP server types could have on the entire community. DayZ is a persistent world, World of Warcraft is somewhat persisent; however everyone in WoW has an equal enough chance to get the gear they want - bosses have fixed loot tables and drop several piece of highgrade loot when you down them. Another reason, WoW is not persistent over all of its servers - its servers are unique and detached from the rest of them, someone couldn't grind themselves up on a PvE without their leveling being interupted in contested areas then hop over to a PvP server and smash people trying to level up. Unless we bring character transfer fees but we all know its a sadistic form of microtransaction that shouldn't be allowed in the first place. PvE'ers your going to have to find a way to go about your Zed killing with a minimal saftey but PvPers are and SHOULD be allowed out there to kill you if they so wish. I play EVE Online; I have 3 accounts and live in 0.0 with them solidly (and have done for quite some time). It's a dangerous environment and you have to adapt. Cheers.

IF this was an actual game...

Game purchase Community Developed (However, I would sample members of the community and draw them into a dedicated testing team; I would try and find a balance of players who could speak on behalf of both playstyles found in the community as current) Don't end up like a game called Face of Mankind (where the developers wanted total control and only adjusted things in game when it suited their faction only).

    Character Motivations

You don't need the game to tell you to do these things, nor notify you or act as a checklist. Make your own checklist on a piece of paper besides your computer and designate these as your character goals if you so wish. C'mon people its a Sandbox game you don't need to be spoonfed shit you can think of yourself.

    [PvP] Flag

After reading that quote from Rocket, I love this game even more - a risk taking developer whos not going to cave in to the newer generation of gamers who want content spoon fed to them. A place I belong.

Player models and some other suggestions

I would enjoy seeing more variation on the clothing in game, I'd like to find various uniforms laying around that I could wear to disguise or otherwise develop my character with - I know its not supposed to be a roleplay heavy game but character development is a big thing for me. Even if we have to make sacrafices with backpacks there surely must be a workaround, no?

    [PvP] Flag

    Just mentioned one, Fallen Earth.

    [PvP] Flag

Been reading and lurking the forums, so much complaining about being killed by players. There should be no flagging system, no safe zones and no way to prevent/avoid PvP. Welcome to an open world sandbox game that I've been searching possibly years for. If the Devs ever touched PvP to make it more carebear friendly I may have to move on :/ There are also a lot of carebear orientated PvE apocoplypse games out there with designated PvP zones and such, Fallen Earth for example. If you want a more MMO safe haven experience I suggest you play that; you can also flag yourself for PvP if you really want too.

    We need a purpose.

I like the Sandbox and Mojo has it spot on, but providing content is always a good idea and keeps people occupied, so longs its not game breaking or gives huge rewards for minimal effort it should be fine.

    We need a purpose.

I'd love to preserve the open ended sandbox nature of DayZ, instead of having AI given missions I'd be much more inclined to see the introduction of random events - they shouldn't be easy to find but more like easter eggs as the apocolyptic world unfolds. Every so often a downed helicopter may spawn, you may run into a destroyed military convoy that looks quite out of place from the rest of the surroundings offering exploration and supplies to the lucky survivor. I would encourage these events to happen WAY OUTSIDE City parameters to encourage more exploring for hidden treasures. It's not just limited to guns and cans though; random spawning of herds of wild beasts roaming the plains or supply crates that were parachuted in but never found. Alex
