All the artwork I've seen in this post would make DayZ an amazing game if I get the ability to dress my character like that!

Feeling the barrel of a gun is a great idea. Not only should you be able to do that but smoke should also be visibly coming out of the barrel for at least 2-5 minutes after firing. Bullet casings is also an amazing idea because I've always thought that tracking should be a part of the game. Footsteps, animal footprints, being able to distinguish if an item has been recently placed by checking if it's dusty, being able to see dusty footprints, bloody or otherwise dirty hand prints. I've been posting extensively about things like this and also about the fact that the surviving aspect in the game isn't good enough, needlessly to say it's too easy. Seasons should also be implemented. More surviving mechanisms, tracking and features like that is what DayZ needs.

I dont understand why there is no AUTO RUN KEY!!!
Archit replied to Bohannan (DayZ)'s topic in Suggestions
I think Devs should work on adding features to the game which will make it intense even when you are running in a forest in butt-fuck-no-where. Stamina, fatigue, temperature, feral/lethal animals and addictions all of these things should be put in the game so that players always have something to worry about or look forward to. Wasting time on adding a auto run key is a stupid idea in my opinion. This game is already being referred to as a running simulator a auto run key will only make it worse. -
Seasons are a must for this game in my book. Seasons should also make the virus mutate zombies and give them new passive and active abilities and new behavior. In example: During winter zombies could maybe stay still in the outside and use the snow as camo and when a player gets close they suddenly burst out of the snow and attack him. Zombies could also start mimicking their old human habits by staying inside houses and under trees while it's raining?

I like the idea. I've been suggesting a trait, skill, profession systems for quite some time on the steam forums. A player needs to feel attached to his character and not to his gear. There needs to be some kind of other leveling mechanism except the quantity and quality of your loot. I suggest that your character gradually gets better at shooting, swinging an axe at zombies, chopping down trees, fishing, skinning and quartering, starting a fire and such. After all we are all playing as civilians and not as machines who are perfectly skilled at doing everything they ever try to do. Maybe we can even make our every new character start out with a couple of traits which make him more adept at doing certain things like firing small arms, rifles, skining and everything else is at average and has to be leveled from average to mastered. So now everytime your character dies you can engage in a new playstyle from the very start. You'll be looking for specific items which benefit your current traits. This could go so far as that players who are survivalists can have special abilities like being able to cut down trees with a knife, start a fire while it's raining. I also think that it's a great idea to let some profession-specific abilities like cleaning guns could be learned by anyone if books/guides are found in the world which show how to do it although a soldier would know how to disassemble and clean every gun meanwhile someone who is learning how to do it from books will have to find guides/books for every gun and learn it all one by one.

I like all the ideas that OP gave. If some parts of the map are inaccessible due to radiation it will add a whole new aspect to the game. Radiation zones will require players to wear clothing which will protect them from radiation but it will leave them exposed to bullets. Players in radiation zones will avoid conflict at all costs because just 1 bullet hole in their hazmat suits will open them to infection with radiation poisoning. Players who are wearing hazmat protection can run away from heavily armored bandits by running into the radiation zone. Players will have to watch out for mutated zeds and animals who have adapted to living in the radiation zone and have even grown new weapons because only 1 bite or tear in the player's clothing can open the player to getting radiation poisoning. There-fore players in the radiation zone would be more likely to work together due to the harsh environment. New types of animals and zeds would be amazing to see and it will work lore-wise as well since this is a virus like every virus it will mutate. This virus can mutate it's host's body in order to increase it's chances of spreading much like in "The Strain" http://cdn.screenrant.com/wp-content/uploads/Guillermo-del-Toro-The-Strain-vampire-with-proboscis.jpg http://i2.cdnds.net/14/14/618x971/comics-the-strain-the-night-eternal.jpg http://www.pagetopremiere.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/thestrain01.png I agree with OP on the matter that the world of DayZ doesn't look post-apocalyptic enough. Some changes should be done.

I absolutely agree with OP. The world doesn't feel post-apocalyptic at all, it's more like everyone went for a vacation and forgot to lock their doors. Around the time this game releases I would really love it if it were possible to dress your character like this: http://imgur.com/hQRX26J In fact it would be really cool if most people would be wearing very ripped up /damaged or badly damaged/ civilian clothing or make-shift clothing like the example above and only the very very lucky ones would be wearing high-end military clothing. What do you guys think, I think that the Dayz mod 2017 actually made DayZ look a lot better and a lot more post-apocalyptic than the conventional DayZ, just look at it! http://media.pcgamer.com/files/2012/11/ArmA2OA-2012-11-12-08-49-51-02.jpg http://i48.tinypic.com/2a7tzm0.png http://media.pcgamer.com/files/2012/11/ArmA2OA-2012-11-12-10-11-28-69.png
