There is 2 rather good sniping positions that atleast cover some area. One covers Center of the map and the military tents, The other area you have a view of the church and the navy parts of town.

Berezino is one of the best cities imo. Low populated with this. Military -> Check Fuel -> Check Supermarkets x2 -> Check Appartments x2 sets -> Check Hospital -> Check Vehicle spawns -> Check Deerstands x3 -> Check Shitload of smaller places for fast loot/food if those previouse wasnt enough. ;D

Logged in to bandage and patch up my brother since our last adventures, we parted ways, pitchblack server, noticed how nice the lightning actually is on the sky and that it light up the entire field (map?) I was running on. It started raining and a few more thunder roars ecoed. Silent for a while I was right about to log out when another flash, and this one was loud in my headphone. My character yelled, broke a bone, got into shock and pain, also bleeding and unconscious. I only lost around 1-2k blood, might have been from the bleeding before I realized it thou. Tried to figure out if it was a player, almost zero damage, all those effects, nah. I was unconscious for a few seconds also. THUNDER STRUCK!.. : D Jikes, my heart was beating , while I was waiting for the hourglass to get empty I was expecting a second shot or something, nothing came. Bandaged up, continue walking like nothing. trying to walk off the shock before logging out. EDIT So people dont bleed on me: Well this is the only reason for it what I can think of. Also noticed a post by another player with a similar situation with it. : D

Well, people tend to try out servers, or scout new servers once their home-server feels empty. You might just had a group scouting out the server. And the 6 weeks before as you talked about was mostly newbies or "homeserver" people visiting and not really looking.

arma2oa is the one there. dll is a map, if you dont have it, it might not be needed for that patch then? :) Oh well Happy that it worked out for you! ^^

You were in the Airfield. if any place is shoot on sight its that one. Everyone goes there, knowing the superhigh risk / reward. Thats the #1 place you can kill without feeling bad really. ;D

Playing via steam and applying beta-patch dont always put it in the right path. This is what you should do. X:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta In that folder (might be a different location on your computer) your beta-installer files will be put for some wierd reason. You need 2 things, a map and a .exe : ) Should be a map named DLL and a file named arma2oa OR arma2oa.exe :D (same thing) Copy those 2, and paste them into your X:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead That will fix it. If your unsure, make a backup copy of your current DLL file and exe before. This is something I have to do every new arma beta patch, to lazy to find the fix for it. and it works ^^

Marking locations for tents/cars. Marking locations so once they hit the mark on their home-server, they switch to some highping wierd server where the loot is stashed, etc etc?

Your game and betapach is up to date? the servers betapatch is up to date? Tried in different servers?

Could just be a guy with the invisibility bug that wanted to do good stuff with it before it vanished? : D Happy story thou! a guardian is def rare to come by.

Most probably a hacker. : D Or someone found a hacked heli and is happy. Or some lucky sob saved a heli from the days it worked and is flying it. But with most chances the first 2.

me? empty server with my brother outside cherno up high in the hills. The thing is, there was no damage thou. besides the bleeding that took a few before I could fix it.

Aye I know tends tend to do that nowdays. Was no tent what so ever near my location thou. : D Only real reason I can come up with there. ;| tried google arma 2 for it, no real reason. Found some old posts about someone else with almost identical situation during another lightning in earlier version of dayz.

Might be that US 451 is not a hive-server. Or the other servers are not in good standing either. try another US server, if thats still on the same beach all the time. Us 451 is the bad egg in your basket, just leave it then. ^^

Last patch seem to spawn you in a random location also, not only rollbacks to places you been to. Happen a few times to our group, but not to far or anything lethal, so we just shrugged it of. : )

Hello there Moodrich. Id say 1 thing to you. Do all the misstakes, break all the rules. Thats what sets the ground for new players most of the time. You learn the game better that way. I followed a few friends raiding castles and high-risk places when I was a noob, the most boring 5 hours run of my life. They set the phase, I was new, they set the sneaking needed, and the routes. After all that I decided to hit electro, cherno and all thoseplaces, finding "high value items" such as nice backpacks, AKs, thinking I was a bad motherfucker, just to be shot at and dead by a silly gun. I stole boats by shooting players. Have been running around bleeding and passing out around towns for hours, just to get a bullet in my head when I final manage to cook me some meat. Now I am more prepared, not in love with my loot and dont really care if I die. A way better player in general, dont kill everyone for the reason of killing. I know how to re-gear fast once I die, and I still do stupid things for the love of the action and thrill. Dont be an elitist loot-hoarding inlander! be the noob, get the action, get friends that will backstab you! You will learn how zombies work. You will learn what to do when things get bad. Having a zombie breaking your leg, bleeding out, and 4 zombies hitting you, you can still stay calm and fix the problem. You will probably just run into buildings in isolated towns, to the right building, instead of sneaking for ages. Everything will be better. But before it gets, you will have the best time of your life! : D Today I ran past a place I havnt been in a long while, Remember when I had a AK kobra and was sneaking around those parts, "sneaking" like a retarded hippo up in the open for all to see me... jikes I was such a noob.

2 places that are well, not way better. But less riskier but with a slight drop in loot value. I mean, you cant get rocketlauncher from these locations, but pretty darn close. http://southcoastbeanwars.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Crashed-Heli-Map-v7.jpg Most of the time you just stumble across them (a server that reboots often, or if you prefer to play on a varity of servers finding them with loot is easy) Berezino military tents, its a bit of a risk, but not even close to as high as any other location with military stuff, it only have 4 tents thou. Luckily you got a airfield north of that if you want more loot, still a tiny risk but not as borderline retarded as NW airfield with serverhopers or supercampers. ^ ^ Thers where you upgrade your AKs to next grade, after a few visits to them places and some close contacts with non-friendlies, you might as well just hit the barracks for those uber-rare loot. Thou its probably fully looted already.
