    Finding vehicles

Source or definitive evidence of this? I have heard that devs must manually "roll out" another round of vehicles to cause them to respawn. Also' date=' the pick-up truck I blew up on my server hasn't reappeared in like 5 days. [/quote'] Found a flipped 4wheeler outside Chernogorsk, and a broken bicycle that didnt work (I also passed out due to low blood when I first sat on it :D) outside elektroz. In the last week alone I've gotten my hands on and kept/had stolen/ or destroyed a S1203 Van, GAZ, 3 Motorcycles, V3S, a Ural, and god knows how many bicycles we've found while traveling. This has only been across 2 servers since we try not to server hop a lot, specifically when we have vehicles. As for that flipped 4 wheeler and that bike....Dallas 1? Europe only ;o
  2. TL;DR Not everyone kill you. Have been killed on sight over 50 times in a row more or less I gave up hope on trying to actually yell friendly and hope it works, but today something magic happend! Today I took a visit up to some army-tents in the middle of the map. During my trip there I heard a bit of to many shots from Novy Sobor, rushing to see if its anyone that needs help. (I know you shouldnt trust, but if I can get in range for local chat I try to use my mic at least, if its long-range greetings, I prefer to shoot or avoid) Spotting a guy bleeding and crawling into the local church. I decided to stay outside, tell him I am out there and ask if I can help him in any way. noticed he was a fellow countryman (Sweden) and I gave him some morphine. Talked for a while and tagged along his journey to the airstrip. We didnt make it long before we met someone in a open field. It was a scary moment, he popped up from crawl and turned around to face us, we both screamed friendly and for some weird reason hoping he wont shoot us, he did, he should have heard us on microphones before he could see us thou. Upon spawning I soon spotted another stranger in a small village, this one didnt say anything, just aiming at me for the whole time, while a third guy appear. Both were silent, never typed a word. but the later one understood what I said atleast. He tagged along when I took aim for Balota airfields. We found a Mp5 I gave him on a dead guy. This probably gave him some trust unto me. The other guy stood there, aiming at us as we walked away. Did not shoot, did not follow. A few minutes after we left town we heard a faint shot and the chat told us he had died. At the airfield we met another guy, he was running around in the airfield, getting to the edge of the runway and slowly crawling away. He spotted us for a few seconds (100m away from him) then he turned around and crawled faster. weird guy, didn't answer calls on the microphone even thou I shouted his nickname (shown upon aiming) We let him just crawl away. At the radio-tower it was a carnage, was atleast 10 player corpses mocked together in a tight crowd. So, 3 guys, no one had shot me on sight, thought I had a dream at first. At Chernogorsk Supermarket we managed to run past another lad, we entered the normal entrance with a dozen of zombies after us, he ran out the same way. Yelling that we are friendlies and for his own sake he should move out of the way from the zombie train. After we finished of the zombies he had logged out just outside. But he stood and watched for a little while atleast. Id bet the one following me was rather new, slow on the loot and not to good on the sneaking at all. : ) but we managed, and it was fun, even thou he didnt say anything, and I talked all the time since we left the first town. Shortly after that we ran for the church, once inside (with another zombietrain on our ass) I spotted one guy sitting in the corner, now I gotta die, this is when it ends, I cant be this lucky right? I yelled friendly all I could in the mic, hoping my follower would stay hidden so he could run if I died. (told him to run away if someone shot me, that was the rule, and I always walked first) The guy still pointing his gun at us, typed, rather slow "Friendly?" in the chat, if I had been on killing mode he would have died before me. guess both panicked and hoped for the best. We typed a little, he needed help with his bloodpacks, he was low on blood and didnt have anyone to help him use them. Helping him out is when I noticed, my first new friend can type! he needed food. Gave him 3 of my cans then I talked with the new guy a little. He managed to get his microphone working, was rather quiet but if I stood close I could hear him, he had a friendly voice. We took of to the little café around the corner. For some reason my fps had been down the sink for a while and didn't want to get back up, I told them I needed a fast reboot. Closed the game, wanted to reconnect. Server full.

Also' date=' the pick-up truck I blew up on my server hasn't reappeared in like 5 days. [/quote'] Destroyed ones need a server-reboot to respawn from what I heard. Havnt seen a vehicle at all yet. Been hunting almost 24/7 the whole week, all spawnspots, random spots in bush, and I have traveled the "whole" map a few laps soon. different routes and servers >:( Found a flipped 4wheeler outside Chernogorsk, and a broken bicycle that didnt work (I also passed out due to low blood when I first sat on it :D) outside elektroz. Zomg. I wish I had your luck :/

After you are killed by a survivor...

I logged in this morning, noticed 3 guys running of in the distance. Shot one in the stomach, enough to make him bleed hard, only fired one shot. They all ran in different directions. Then I moved out of the area. I got a rush out of it, positioning myself in danger, they were 3, I was alone in a bad position. Id bet loads on that these 3 lads also had a rush from it, scary but still a rush. Thats what keeps the game interesting. The world is not a great and glorious place when everything is down the drain. If I killed him, with your idea implanted his friends would know exactly where I was if they had any kind of communication outside of the game. Making the situation not as scary, easier to either avoid me or kill me. Where is the thrill in that? If he just died, and all he could say in their voicechat (im dead!) I could imagine their panic on trying to figure out of they should search for me, or run the hell away, whatever they pick, they still dont know my location by a longshot, besides a direction.

WTF is happening to the server community.

Your old, now days its more or less said as pro or pr0s, as in. -Oh I saw a pr0 do this on his livestream. -Im pr0 dont worry -But all the pros do it, its how we all should also! So it would be more correct to say. "BTW, I'm not some hardcore pr0" or "Im a dick" Dont let the age hit you in the face ;)

I also noticed, you want to try to survive in a harsh evil world, full of undead and "untrusties". Yet when your met with a challenge, you dont want it anymore?

Well, id bet people would try to kill you, not everyone get the "Surviving as a group is stronger" mentality in real life. Others just get "Better you then me" feeling, rather gun one down instead of being gunned himself. Why should he take the risk of being shot, so you can have your friendly way of playing the game? Isnt it better if you manage a way to force trust people? try to adapt to the changes in the world, instead of letting the changes adapt to you.

WTF is happening to the server community.

The thing is, the more you have to loot the less friendly you become, the less you dare to take a risk. If you die with a huge ammount of items you get sad, but also happy, because now you can trust people while you gather and start the game over. Until you reach a point where you get enough gear to stop trusting again. ;) The more gear the people have, the higher chance it is they will shoot you, the less gear they have, its a larger chance they run from you, dont bother or actually talks to you. Sadly its the same for me, until I know the map better even a primary weapon for me is "rich" enough to be scared of everyone. So far my only deathreason is from players, not zombies (thou one was close, my first death) And most of them is without any real good reason, shooting a poor random guy with a pistol in his hand, or no weapons at all. >:D Me and my 2 friends spotted a rather wierd group yesterday at Stary Sobor. We heard some shots when we passed the area, so we took a peak up to it, slowly and high hills ofcourse. ;) More shots, and a bit more of shots, when we get there its only 1 person there, we thought we heard a few different bullets. And the guy is looking like hes looting something. We are on the edge and shoot him down before he even knew whats hit him. Going up there we se 2 dead people, by the looks of it, it looks like The first one just died, second one tried to loot him, got shot by the third one we shot, all had equally good gear, the first person had a CZ thou, and from his area we scouted down to the tents, finding another player corpse. 3 dead in matter of seconds, we kill the last guy, cleaning the house, everyone had pretty much the same loot, besides different weapons. Why?
  10. TL;DR GOOD GAME! Seeing friends playing Arma 2 on steam, looked into the game, never paied more attention then that, nothing I would ever get. Hearing about DayZ briefly on a random forum, checking it up on youtube and stories, figured out thats why they played arma2, asked them and answer was easily yes. : D I do love zombiegames like hell, so I got it asap. Never played Arma2 so everything was new. ------- Getting into the game ------ Starting off in pitchdark, could barely see my feet, stumbling around for a long while until I figured out how to get flares out and throw them. Realized by now that I am a living beacon for everything in a miles radius. Switched to an American server to have some daylight. Finding myself in a village when I logged in, a tiny one. So thats where I stood lighting the place up like a christmas tree eh? Strolling around, crouching past zombies (One almost stepped on my face, but the tall grass probably hid me well enough?) Managed to find 1 place open, way to many locked doors/houses :( Car parts, thats all it was, 2-3 carparts, tires, fuel and an engine. By now zombies had noticed me and I had to call it a day anyway, logging out and being scared on how close the zombies might be when I log back in on my not so safe spot. --- Day 2? --- Logging back in the next day, different carparts and some food being on the ground now instead. Zombies all around the tiny house, but so far noone spooted me. Crawled out in the fields when I spot another survivor. We both stood up to show that we have seen eachother, then I slowy crawled over the street to him. (Is it any command to wave or anything?) From reading the forums I do know trusting strangers is more risky then actually be-friending zombies, but first life, what the hell. When we met up, a third survivor came from nowhere to scare us but greeted us. 2 of us had a working microphone (had to check controllers to find it, took a while but worked) Started to scout out the village a bit, I took a right and they took a left. Shortly after that I hear several gunshots from their location. Making most of the zombies alerted. Sadly for me, I was in their walkpath. We managed to meet up again (by suprice thou) in a tiny house, all 3 well and alive. Decided to move to the other side of the town we started moving as a group until one zombie spotted one of them, a shot was fired, and hell broke loose. We decided to run toward the water, I got badly thorn apart in that fight, bleeding. While they hold the fort I managed to bandage myself (it was easy to figure out thankfully) Out of ammo, they had ran apart from me, got a few more hits on me, more bloodloss and a broken bone. Laying there at a small concrete docks of some sort, passing out, seeing them shooting, running and gunning, hearing they said they needed to leave me. During the hourglass I crashed. Reconnected fast, every zombie was gone, I dragged myself back to a house I knew had first aids and more, noticed it during the chaos. No ammo, bleeding, broken bones, passing out and trying to sneak past those monkey zombies, was hell of a run. Found a winchester along the things (Isnt it a rifle? Its running on shotgun shells, close quarter weapon then?) Banded myself up, stopped the bleeding, but kept on passing out. Passed out right infront of a walker, he was so close I almost cried a little, waiting for the hourglass to go empty. Dragged myself to their last location, following the beach and see if they are still out there. Found 2 corpses, no flies, players. not sure if it was them or some other people. Looted them to get some ammo. Tried to eat some food, noticed my blood was low and I had a temp of 42, cant be that good. even if its F or C temperature. So food equals blood right? Better get all I can carry and eat the rest, need some when the hunger kicks in. Dragging myself, a bit better now thou, along the coast, seeing more corpses along the way. Something is not right here, either people tend to run off here and die or someone is sniping them for fun. Leaving the beach and the village for the woods. Now im wandering aimlessly in the woods, bloodvalue around 2400, a temp of 41 atleast, and passing out every now and then. I love this game. <3
