[POLL] - 3PP / 1PP and seeing round corners
Timecharge replied to floj's topic in General Discussion
My main problem with 1pp is that you can't see over your backpack when pressing alt to look behind urself + I am more of a 3pp type of guy -
For awhile while playing Day Z I frowned on Server Hopping, but then began to actually think about it and I asked myself, how is it bad? Would you rather search for the same weapon that you may or may not find for four hours or would you rather just go grab said weapon or gear and have fun with it. Eventually you are going to die and said gear will be redistributed back into the environment + servers restart so if anything you are saving gear from being wiped and becoming useless. But now, I don't frown on Server Hopping nearly as much, I will admit I do it occasionally (did it at vybor today, although I didn't find anything that I really wanted (i wanted the m4) but i did find some good stuff) and call me a scumbag or what ever for doing it but until someone offers me a viable explanation for why you shouldn't server hop, i don't see the issue with it. edit: If someone offers me a viable explanation for why you shouldn't server hop then I will stop doing it

Usually when I try to be a hero I end up getting shot or KO'd for it..

My entire group just died... and there weren't even bandits or zombies.

Yeah I have almost shot my friends a couple times (once on purpose) just because I didn't know who they were. Everybody looks the same right now -

So if you guys were ACTUALLY under attack, would the first thing your buddy does be to take out his/her gun and shoot you? _____ Seriously though that sucks, but hey I have the most fun in Day Z when I die and have to regear again. -
Mosin = Easy Mode, I love the Mosin
Timecharge replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
I was able to find 20 rounds in Kamy 10 or so minutes after spawning. Note: I also found a Hunting Backpack, Multiple Motorcycle Helmets, a PU Scope and food in Kamy, probably the best Kamy run shortly after spawning I have ever had. -
Cherno has been quiet the past couple days.

Kamyshovo is pretty populated -
Unarmed fighting needs to be severely nerfed

If you got punched hard enough in the face 6 or 7 times irl you would probably be at least dazed if not unconcious. -
Item Conditions: Which Actually Matter?
Timecharge replied to Tabris07's topic in General Discussion
Lol, that was me, i kept typing my password wrong and my main account got locked out for 15 minutes. I won't be posting on that account that often. -
I don't want them adding planes (planes make the map feel smaller and just seem op) but I would be fine with them adding a Helicopter. I would prefer for the Helicopter to be like this, -Only have 2 or 3 max on a map at a time. -Spawn in various locations so that it is uncampable (random among the Military bases, camps and occasionally crashed in Forests etc.) -Make them spawn damaged, but in different conditions (example, if you find one in a Military base it would probably be damaged just due to it being weathered down from nature and other things over time although if you find one crashed in a forest it could be very badly damaged)

Me and my friends ran into a player who had spawned in Novy and had ran into us in Stary him with just his baseball bat and a yellow raincoat (there were 4 of us and 3/4 of us were fully geared) instead of killing him we told him to put his hands up, gave him some food/water and helped him find a Taloon backpack. After that he came with us to Vybor we got him a bit more stuff let him in the teamspeak and the server dc'd. We usually don't help people but we don't always kill them unless they look hostile or try to attack us. It REALLY just depends on who you run into and the mood they are in, me and my friends sometimes just shoot people, it really varies.

At what point does the Long-Ranged Scope become inaccurate? I have a damaged Long-Ranged Scope and I am wondering if it will still be reliable.
-
in the 40 hours that i have played the game and after dying like 15 times i have probably spawned their 3 times
-
To my knowledge kermo50 when it gets seriously damaged ( i don't know at what status ) it gets inaccurate
-
Yeah i have had shots that were really far off and I have had shots that were dead on.

Is the amount of PvP due to the difficulty of PvE
Timecharge replied to adwilk1231's topic in General Discussion
Players are absolutely the biggest threat in the game and a lot of KOSing i have learned is in often in response, or fear to, A). People combat logging if you don't KOS them B). New spawns and how easy it is for them to knock you down if you turn your back to them, C). The fear that the person about to KOS is going to get shot if they don't KOS them. Secondly about more zombies, currently there is so much ammo in the game that people usually die before they fire all of it, if they buffed zombies or made them where they don't die from one shot of a fire axe i'd imagine more bullets would be used on zombies. edit: ignore the smiley face where B is supposed to be when i type out B like i did A and C it puts in that smiley face -
Working out distance from the map
Timecharge replied to chasieboy317's topic in New Player Discussion
Great job and incredibly helpful I might actually try this sometime. Although really the only time where I would have enough time to do those calculations before the person moved out of my LOS would probably be when they were A). Looting and I knew which door they would come out, B). Afk C). Sitting prone in one spot not moving trying to shoot people. -
I have server hopped for loot mabye 3 or 4 times in the 39 hours I have been playing Day Z. The only time I ever server hop is for loot. The first time I ever server hopped was I think on my first day of day z in one of the Elektro Apartment buildings looking for loot. Another was at Green Mountain looking for an M4 (second day), and since then i have server hopped once at Novy Sobor when I was in a server with really bad lag and it was making it incredibly difficult to loot due to the amount of zombies, and once at Vybor.

TL:DR, combat logged a bit when i first started playing. usually try NOT to combat log, but there are circumstances where i do On my first and second day of playing Day Z SA ( I didn't play the Mod ) I combat logged 2 - 3 times that i remember. The first was in a Fire Station when i was just about to meet up with my group I climbed up the stairs of the fire station and there must have been 10 bodies there a lot of them with a small amount of gear and a guy said in VOIP that he knew i was in there and to come out. I logged out. The second one was at Green Mountain when I THOUGHT ( could've been a sound bug ) that I heard someone down below me on my second day of playing Day Z ( i was on a night server without a light source and I will be honest i went onto a server in Green mountain in order to attempt to find my first M4 aka server hopped ) and i logged out. In the 39 hours that I have played Day Z I have logged out while being shot at once ( it was a guy with a mosin I had no idea where he was and i didn't want to die, i probably shouldn't have done it because i could have escaped but i did oh well), MABYE twice but i usually try not to.

1). Rotten Fruit makes you sick don't eat them. 2). Wearing a Clown mask does not mean you are a bandit you are a new spawn and due to you being able to knock people down with one lucky punch a lot of people will shoot you on sight, hold you up and handcuff you, or run away from you. 3). How to cure sickness? http://dayz.gamepedia.com/Status_Effects#Sick

does anyone else find it difficult to aim with due to how wide the crosshair is? OR is there an option on it to reduce the crosshair size?

Okay here's the problem : Gear Hoarding
Timecharge replied to onebadbasterd's topic in General Discussion
I personally enjoy losing my gear when it really comes down to it ( when i am actually getting shot at by some random sniper in a bush somewhere i may not say the same thing ) although losing your gear and the want to get it back or book it back to your body to try to get whats left is fun. I have held onto my gear for 3-4 day time spans and it gets extremely boring because I run out of stuff to do if I become afraid to lose my gear. -
thanks for the tips from the both of you I am going to have to shoot with it more i guess and just get used to it. or i could find a pristine long-ranged scope ( i have one but its badly damaged )
-
why are there so many people on that server i mean i know its in elektro but still wow
-
I usually log out around pine trees gives good cover for logging back in and there usually aren't many zombies. I also usually log out near places i am very familiar with so if I don't play for the bit i always know where i am and am not standing confused and lost in a forests.
