Who said it's going be the Hunter. It has the potential to integrate realistic hunting as we have a dedicated team for hunting simulation. Did anyone say it is going to be BF4 (for instance) when people speak about war side of it? Then, a hunting simulation mod can include all the specifics of hunting simulator.

I read an interview where the developers said they want to make hunting animals as realistic as possible, but sure this will take time. As i can see, for now you can run towards a deer or wild boar without it run away and this is unrealistic and takes the hunting thrill. For a priority, is making animals more alert to what around them and run away if they sense danger. You could not approach them while you are standing, you have to crouch or creep towards them.

I find this running after a deer with an axe quite unrealistic. In a real situation, you wont be able catch a deer with an axe, it turns and disappear very quickly. I hope they will implement realistic hunting for the next update. The same thing applies for the wild boar.

I play almost only hunting video game and I am watching Dayz for this feature. I hope they will make a hunting simulation mode without these zombies (I hate that). For Cauldron, they have some of the best animals models and AI all around and you can see some videos of the latest title: Cabela's Big Game Hunter: Pro Hunts. They are not perfect but they can improve them to make it more realistic. Activision has kept the Arcade side of it which destroy the simulation experience: things like bullet cam, onscreen information, ... I can see what kind of hunting simulation can result if this studio (as experienced as it is in hunting titles) work with latest engine, the one that made Arma 3.

Yes please a hunting simulation mode :) I would love to see hunting simulation mode in Dayz , particularly big game animals like deers, wild boar, wild sheep, .... Please realistic animals AI and look combined with realistic weapon ballistics.

I dont think it is a good idea to add zombie animals, rather hunting simulation is the way to go. Many of the virtual hunting community are aspiring for hunting simulation in Dayz, it has perfect grounds for that plus the ballistics are great for long range hunting. It can be even greater if they add a hunting simulation mode for this game, where you can select rifles, crossbows, ... where you wont meet zombies, ...
