Done it many o' times. The most I've ever gotten to charge at me was 3... and they all die from 1 bullet so it is actually easier if you do it this way. Then you can loot not having to worry about a zombie popping out of the floor and biting an ankle.

I think the map is too small for cars. Am I the only one
MystoganXIX replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
I support making vehicles extremely common, but like most of the other items I find in this game... they need to rarely be in top condition. Fuel would be a nice incentive to keep people looting constantly. Helicopters, tanks, etc are great end game toys to keep people entertained. I think they just need to be difficult to use and even more difficult to maintain. I really want to see some noob who got lucky just crash and burn in a helicopter accident. -
[suggestion] for improve revolver/Russia roulette

This would be a nice way to settle disagreements, or an interesting game to force your hostages to play. -
I think that the zombie speed is not the issue, it's player speed. People aren't realistically able to sprint full out indefinitely. The reason we can escape so easily is because the characters in this game don't have much of a fatigue aspect other than the hoarse breathing after running a marathon. Zombies do need to be buffed though. Both on health and numbers. Headshots should be 1hit kill, but otherwise they need to take more depending on caliber of the bullet and maybe the type of bullet if DayZ devs ever venture into adding that. (Hollow Point, FMJ, Ballistic tips, etc)

Anyone kind enough to share tips on a Mosin
MystoganXIX replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
The M4 is the worst weapon I've ever used. I'm dying less in firefights now that I'm using the mosin and the FNX45 as opposed to that hot PoS. -
This has happened to me 3 times already. Once when I as sniping in Balota. No shots fired, no injuries, etc. Once when I was looting. Again, no gunshots, no injuries, etc. And other time when changing servers, I log in and find that I'm instantly dead. (I never log out in unsafe areas. I was in some random part of the forest smashed up against the tree under the cover of it's leaves.)

I clicked on this thread because I saw porn in the title. You sir have disappointed me as well as probably most of the other people who have read it. I also would like the seeds idea, but I do not want people going out to the most secluded area they can find without having to worry about "If I move this far away from the looting areas, it may cause problems when I run out of food".

Killed by a Bug, No more playing for me.
MystoganXIX replied to Darkshader's topic in General Discussion
Well, at least you died from something. Twice I have died from simply just moving around. No gunshots, no people nearby... just death. Another time I log in and I am immediately dead. There is no way someone even saw me because I was pretty much smashed into a cluster of trees and weeds. (I don't log out in unsafe places) -
Just me or are people missing the point?
MystoganXIX replied to CaptRandom (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
If zombies would spawn based on a timer in a spot evey minute or two, servers would probably start crashing not too long after. The devs need to make randomized spawning which doesnt go over a certain cap of server entities. They also need to factor in many other things such as competition between locations that need spawning and locations that are waiting for spawns, likely will not want zombies to spawn next to players, etc. They can't just put a timer down or have zombie 001 spawn after x amount of time after he was killed because it would likely just be crap, cause more issues, and not satisfy players. -
PSA: If you put "No KoS" in the title of your server, I'm going to favorite it and stop in every day to kill at least one person
MystoganXIX replied to ZedsDeadBaby's topic in General Discussion
The no KoS servers are usually packed. I think I was on one not too long ago... Joined in, went prone, put a bullet in the chest of some guy running down a dirt trail. They don't seem much different from any other server. -
Just me or are people missing the point?
MystoganXIX replied to CaptRandom (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I'm glad I bought this game now before it actually changes into the zombie apocalypse survivor game that is hyped about. Right now its just a fun sniping game. I get great entertainment and satisfaction sitting on a mountainside or in the fields near an airstrip prone with a mosin... just blowing people away one after another. Then hiding and server hopping if I run out of targets. Its especially fun to watch one person in a group hit the floor and everyone else scatters for cover. Not even knowing where the shot is coming from, another one drops to the floor and so on. -
I think I'll take a break and wait for anti-hacks to be implemented...
MystoganXIX replied to XOLiD's topic in General Discussion
Probably weren't even hackers. I constantly join games where I'm trying to snipe someone running down the road and they teleport. It's not really predictable either, sometimes to the side, sometimes through a wall, sometimes forward, sometimes backwards, etc. I have teleported through a fence or into a building while sprinting a few times. Usually gets me stuck and I have to relog. The community isn't that bad. Nobody really likes "Had enough, I'm leaving" posts and there is actually no evidence that so called hackers wasn't just the OP getting stomped on by people who are fully geared or lagging/teleporting due to all the alpha bugs. -
I wouldn't use roads if there are popular cities or bases nearby... You're just asking to get picked off that way. (Its quite fun doing this to people.)

Possible solution to KOS, hear me out
MystoganXIX replied to jan3sobieski's topic in New Player Discussion
In a zombie apocalypse, I doubt people would trust anyone that they hadn't known prior to the apocalypse and it would likely end up in a similar manner of what happens in DayZ. Sure in the real world, there would be a lot less "bandits" and more people just trying to survive, but I'm sure when a guy needs to feed himself and his girlfriend or a father needs to feed his children in the middle of anarchy, you're life is equal that that of an ant's in their eyes. -
psychological effects of banditry
MystoganXIX replied to SpetsnazGRU (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I actually see this in pretty much every game that has open PvP in it. There are so many people who just can't stand a game where you can openly kill other players and not be punished for it... I even saw it in minecraft a few times. "This guy keeps finding my base and stealing my stuff/killing me, you need to add in a jail or a temporary ban for people that keep doing this stuff. (because I don't like it)" -Kid playing minecraft on a server labeled "hardcore" -
The sounds are very distracting. I was in a standoff earlier with a guy on the floor above me, as both of us were pointing weapons at the stairway but nobody wanted to take the initiative. For the next 10 mins, all I could hear was moaning, zombie noises, mainly the cracking of soda cans, and other crap. At first I thought he was drinking a soda so i started up the stairs... ran back just in time.

Its gonna be really hard to get that mentality of KoS out of players you know... just reducing ammo won't quite help. Just because there is less ammo around, it doesn't mean anyone is going to be more trusting of other people. If the person has a gun, it will likely still be a "Kill him/her before he/she kills me". Otherwise it will be the same as it is now, kill other players if they get too close to me or kill people because its fun to kill people. Think about it rationally. "I only have 2 bullets, as ammo is harder to find now. But if this person kills me, it doesn't really matter how much ammo I have now does it?"

1. Obtain a mosin with a bipod and a decent scope. 2. Learn how to shoot a mosin with a bipod and a decent scope. 3. Make people angry because they randomly drop dead.

Player Logging is REALLY killing gameplay
MystoganXIX replied to crypticsilence's topic in New Player Discussion
Logging out needs a delay even if it's from a game crash. It needs to be there regardless. If this feature does not apply to crashes, then I'm fairly certain some kid is gonna figure out sooner or later one of the many easy methods to make a program crash, then ask for help or maybe do some research on how to make a macro/hotkey that will crash DayZ. It may be unfortunate for those who legitimately crash, but it needs to be all or nothing. -
To be honest, I love KoS. Its annoying as all hell when it happens in some random house or while Im travelling... but when I go into a military complex or airstrip, its a challenge to gauge whether it is safe to proceed without a sniper or a spray & pray m4 douche making my screen turn black. Plus taking out unsuspecting people is entertaining. Some guy climbed up on the roof of a building earlier in some random town and decides to just enjoy the scenery I guess. Pull out the mosin and watch as he keels over and dies. The guy had pretty much all the supplies I'd need to fuel myself and my weapons for the next 3 days. Of course its just a waste if you kill people near the spawn areas since they usually don't have weapons or anything of value. Just a waste of bullets.

So this is how you stop server hoppers/farmers
MystoganXIX replied to king_of_the_beans's topic in General Discussion
Its somewhat baffling as to why someone would play on any of those private servers which require VIP in order to be completely unrestricted in item use, or on any server in which VIP players have any type of advantage over non-VIP. I mean... this is not a free game. Why would you buy this game, then play on someone's private server and pay them in order to fully play a game that you just bought? -
Broke leg bones whilst shot in the arm lol
MystoganXIX replied to ryan__mc__@hotmail.co.uk's topic in General Discussion
The injury logic is classic. One of the videos on youtube shows a guy shooting his friend in the face on accident. The result? Bleeding and a broken leg. ...You can break your leg by getting shot in the face. -
The problem is that people are able to poof in at any time, even right behind you if you're unlucky. Even if you scanned the area and safely adventured into a building to loot, a server hopper could simply log in behind you and pop a bullet in your head. I think we just need a mandatory 15-30 second wait period in between when your character joins the server and when you can control him. Even though they may still get lucky spawning behind some oblivious people, they take a huge risk when server hopping in a desired looting area.

What, exactly, is the point of this game?
