Still works with just a map.

Weapons are generally zeroed to 300m in ArmA2. What ranges are you shooting at?
-
You have a map/gps? If not, good luck. If so, try shift-clicking on the map. Should put up a waypoint you can follow back to the mainland. Keep in mind you're going to be roughly 7-9km out, so it's going to be a bit of a hike back.

I had problems with 1.7.1 as well, but no gear lost. I just happened to spawn in ~9 km west of the edge of the map. Was quite the fun time trekking back.

The heartbeat thing is just another version of the bandit skin. If Rocket thinks that the skin was imperfect, then so is the heartbeat. Not really a penalty, just an indicator of your humanity.

As a old player, this mod is now too easy it un-playable

Basing LOS off the eyes of a very active idle animation' date=' for one. [/quote'] So let understand you correctly. You think that zombies don't see out of their eyes? Do they have secondary eyes attached to the chest or something? But anyway that is only one aspect, and its not that bad. Explaining what is broken is a lot more constructive than saying that its just broken. +1 interwebz. Oi, jackass, he did say what was broken. In 1.7.1, zombie LOS was based off of head view, but the problem was zombies were jerking their heads left and right extremely fast, so fast that you couldn't see it happening. Which means their 30 degree vision cone just became 270 degrees. Hence the super zombies. Oi, person who doesn't read the entire post or understand the concept of context.... The end of my post was referring to the initial post and showing that posting constructively is better. Don't jump to conclusions. I took your post to be referring to the one you quoted, you know, because that's how quotes work. Don't get pissy at me for not getting your context when you yourself aren't clear about it. -
Demoralising and anti climactic end :(

I don't know about you, but dying for me is always a relief. Sure, I'm semi-bummed that I lost my loot, but I no longer have to act as cautiously as I was. I'm free to be a jackass running through elektro with a train of zeds. It's a breath of fresh air. -

They were completely awesome. How was it broken? What do you think? What part was broken? It is more complicated than just broken. What would you change? Again, punishing bandits for being bandits. Something Rocket said he'd never do.

Walked into a barracks and all the doors were closed. As I walked up to door #3 suddenly, zombie aggro. Arms flailing through the wall, and blood is dwindling rapidly. Turns out 4 zombies were having a pow-wow in the room, and didn't take to kindly to my approach. Ended up knocking me down to 2k blood. Well done 1.7.1. DayZ. DayZ never changes.

So much for zeds not attacking through walls.

Got it. Thanks much. By the way, Osiris, testing an alpha means reporting bugs. Just thought I'd throw that out there. -

Ah, thanks. Why is the whole infected not attacking through walls listed as a new feature when it's not quite working? -

* [REVERT] Disabling of interior raycasting (will mean some buildings you will be invisible/can't be hit in for the moment as they don't have view LODs) I took that as you'd be invisible/can't be hit inside some buildings, not that you'd be visible/able to be hit. -
You, you and you. You are all part of the problem.

A number of issues here. 1. The root problem here is not the people going around shooting first. They are A problem, yes, but not the ROOT problem. Shooting first is merely the most logical and straightforward way to avoid being shot yourself. Consider- Chance of bad things happening to me/Chance of good things happening to me (these are rough, bear with me) Shooting on sight: 5/95 Exposing yourself and asking if he/she's friendly: 50/50 2. You're getting upset about being called an elitist fucktard, but you have to go back and read your original post. You /are/ being an elitist fucktard. The unwashed masses are the problem, but noooo, not you. Never. Have you even /seen/ how many posts you've contributed? Well, most of them are positive, so you're better than we are and yadda yadda yadda. You may not be intentionally trying to be an ass, but you're doing a terrific job. Edited for clarity.
