What about very rare leftovers of new year? No timer but no need for any crafting. All you would need is a pack of matches in your inventory to ignite them. Throw them and see the beloved walkers run. Same but less efficient, what we already had in the mod, empty cans. I can even imagine with the implementation of the physics engine that you can throw quite a lot to distract zombies and players.

KoS solved. At least far more interesting than hearing a bullet snap and getting a black screen. Just imagine tons of rotten foot and empty cans flying around you :D

I don't see a reason why not. It should be possible to implement fairly easy and it would be a big improvement. By the way: Same for the Bipod...

Atleast for me it doesn't matter which server I'm on. It's everywhere the same. Regardless of ping, number of players whatsoever. -
I'm pretty sure that things like these are on the way, maybe far away, but coming. Remember that one dev-video, where Rocket built a improvised handgrenade with a flare at a spraycan hold together by ductape. Still good to collect some ideas. I really like the idea with the mosin and the shirt, as I've done something like this with old camouflaged pants and my softair M14. Stay alive, Snaff

I have the same problem. Sometimes it seems related to other players. As soon as I'm close enough to them (don't have to seem them) it starts to lag and desync quite badly. Friends next to me have no problem. Kinda weird, kinda random, kinda gamebreaking... at least when you're about to fight or observe another player and all of sudden you can't see anything because you're desynced. Cheers Snaff -

Hay there, So everyone is trying to get military pants, jackets and vests. On one hand for the camouflage but on the other hand for the additional inventory space. This means everyone ends looking like an russian soldier mixed with some british vests, given you won't be killed before you can get of the beach (D-Day anybody?). But: What if you can make it of the beach and equip your lousy pants with some leg pouches or other "strap ons"? Make them different sizes, different colors or even specific to some kind of gear like the chest holder. Imagine having pouches for knives, canteens or magazines. This way other player could see what you have and inventory space would be more specific. Think and share your onion on it! :D Snaff

exactly like this... Just imagine first having a tactical vest with few inventory slots but maybe some protection and with further looting you may find addtional pouches (with different functions).

I don't doubt that we will end up with tons of clothing, but I just like the idea of custumize your gear and the ability for others to see what you have and what not. You can see a guy with a tactical vest and military clothing and other than that he hasn't any more loot. OR You can see a guy with a cooking pot hanging on this backpack and a knife strapped to his leg, a gun in a holster and so on.

I really like the idea of leaving notes for other players. Or imagine finding a map on a dead body where locations are marked.

What about giving the game time to fix problems with people dying when they're falling ridiculous small heights, instead of reviving dead people. A defib should allow players to be revived when their "death" (make people unconscious before they die) is caused by sickness (heart stops beating), to give them some extra time fighting the sickness.

IMHO a player shouldn't be able to revived by a defib at all, when someone decided to throw massive amounts of lead (or just one bullet to the head) towards another player. Dead is dead and that's the thrill. There's no comeback or second chance with a 5.56 hole in your head.

Something I noticed in the experimental server list.

At the moment I think 60 players are enough. But looking at the development of the map which tends to decentralise important loot I think even more player per server are possible. At the current state you have 60 players spread to 3 airfields and 3 big towns or on the way to these spots. Having more big cities and maybe some interesting locations in the middle of the map, it could work out pretty nice with ~100 players. -
Aquiring new gear, starting out in a new location, wandering around searching for the things you need and struggling against other geared people is a lot of fun. I hate server-hopping, so I never did it but I lost a fully geared character 3 times after the server of choice was restarting midgame. Meant for me I was raging for about 10 seconds, realised I don't know where I was (did spawn way inland) and had fun with friendly and not so friendly players I found on the way. Dying/Loosing your gear is part of the thrill. Have fun, enjoy it, say f*** it and have more fun! Cheers Snaf ;)

I just had the same problem. May be just that the option to climb the ladder is buggy or missing.

Zelenogorsk became quite dangerous, too. Had some pretty intense gunfights there.

I don't know wether I should like the idea of carrying multiple weapons or not, but I really like the idea of the "hand-inventory" and the need for a sling. Imagine you find a weapon and it will have something like another attachmentslot where you can attach a sling to. A sling could be found like good military/civilian ones or can be crafted out of rags, which won't be that nice.

well... Imagine the only place to land it would be the airfields. Other places like fields can be used too, but it would be very dangerous to land there, if you're not familiar with the ground. And landing a "Here-I-Am-Screaming-Machine" next to the places where most players are... well I don't think this is a good idea.

its meant for battlefield 3 but it should apply to dayz aswell. Having tried it with Battlefield I know it works and I don't see a reason why it shouldn't work with dayz too. Thanks for the replies so far, Snaff -
