It seems as though the pen and paper are being clumped into the "useless items" category in favor of better loot (remember the tin cans and bottles in the mod?) As such, I have yet to find any notes left by any players and I have never even written my own. It's a great idea but I think the implementation could be reworked and we could hopefully see a rise in player participation.

On every server restart, no matter which server, my character has been reset as well as my friend's. Not sure if anyone is experiencing this but beware. And the weapon sway is absolutely ridiculous now.

Since my original post will be lost a midst the experimental patch discussion and I read about a few people asking about whether it is in the experimental or not, here are some screenshots and videos of the Longhorn. I found it on the 3rd floor of the school right where the video takes place. Scope doesn't zoom and it won't fit in the chest holster. It is loud as fuck and is really fun to use.

Sure you can. If you need any more, let me know and I can take them. Matter of fact, I don't really care too much about my gear, if someone wants the pistol, I can give it to you no charge. Just make sure you clean her after every use.

For those who haven't seen, this is how you make a fire, minus the chopping down the tree part because I went crazy up there. By the way, I was only able to chop about 5-6 trees with a pristine axe before it got ruined. Pretty lame but I suppose that prevents trolls from chopping every tree in Chernarus. Also, it's tough to make fires in the open because the wind will blow out your matches. I tried to light one just north of the power station in Elektro and went through 20 matches.

It appears the rubberbanding issue only happens when your player gets "stuck" in geometry but when it happens, it dupes the player and you run along just fine in your client but the server clone thinks you are still stuck somewhere and teleports you back. That's why zombies can attack your "dupe" and you will receive damage wherever you are. So to avoid the rubberbanding, avoid running inside buildings and square yourself in doorways or any opening/passageway where your player is close to geometry. This should help for the time being.

You complain about slow development yet you want the team to entirely redesign new buildings, cities, textures, models, clan/ladder systems, underground worlds, and a completely redesigned and revamped weather system? The amount of bickering and bitching and the knowledge most possess about game development/programming/art in these forums is absolutely astonishing.

I see it as an incentive to make the best game possible. Rocket expected 200,000 players after several months. Now that there is more money, the project can expand in terms of personnel to allocate tasks that would otherwise be kept on the shelf. If that many people bought the game already, imagine how much more money you can make when it is feature complete and working as intended.

Once respawning loot is working in the game, it becomes a slightly different story with server hopping. Let's say it takes 5 minutes for loot to respawn and 5 minutes for the timer to switch servers. What would be the benefit or wasting your time switching servers (where you could potentially enter an area that is already secured by other players) when you can just hold down your position and wait for the loot to respawn? Since the game is still in development and focus is on more important aspects of the game, it's hard to provide a solution to a problem that will change in the future.

I'm aware of that but these hackers are clearly launching up into the air and flying around. Just curious if others have noticed a large increase in hacking and if server admins have any way to detect, verify, and gather information on the hacker. -

8 out of 10 servers I've played on tonight have had hackers. Floating and flying around the server Full auto weapons The usual teleporting I've seen maybe 1-2 confirmed hackers since the launch of the game but this past day it has been ridiculous, has anyone else noticed this as well? Does the game allow server admins to check logs at all or has it not been introduced yet? -
People shooting automatic Mosins on public Servers

Had the same thing happen with an infinite ammo B95 shooting at me. Guy spawned right in front of me 10 seconds after I spawned into the server. -

From what I recall, desync doesn't exist anymore as it was part of Arma 2's architecture. You can still experience lag but when you get the broken chain links on your screen, it means your client is just getting updates from the server. I will have to find the interview where Dean Hall explains all of this.

No player list and no # of players when joining server.

An annoying problem would emerge where you have 6 people in your group or so and you try to join a server with 4 slots remaining. 4 will get in and would have to leave, giving them 5 minute respawn timers. Imagine if this happened 3 or 4 times before you could all get into the same game, it would take 30 minutes. -
US Marine Corps uses boot bands to blouse the trousers outside the boots. I can cite the regs, P1020.34G if you'd like. Now I'm not sure about the US Army's uniform standards but I believe they can tuck their trousers into their boots and it is acceptable.

The last thing i want is Chernarus to be plastered with billboards advertising Axe body spray and Coke products.

This thread is for the awareness, discussion, and reporting of the invisible player glitch that I have experienced from playing in the new 0.37.115791 experimental patch. Issue: A player can become invisible to one player but visible to another. When a player becomes invisible, their character (when viewed from a different person) is stuck in one position on the ground moving about mimicking the actions of the invisible person (Running in place, punching, eating, etc.) However, on the invisible person's screen, they appear perfectly normal and have no way of telling they are invisible and can not see their avatar. The invisible player's avatar may be in different spots for different players and if damage is dealt to the avatar, it will affect the invisible player wherever he is. -------------------------------------------------------------------- My first experience: I first noticed this bug when a friend of mine went to attack a geared player with a weapon in a house. He started axing the guy who immediately ran a few feet away into a room and began to bandage (thinking he was getting hit from the outside), while my friend stood in front of him continuing to axe him wondering why he was behaving so strangely. This continued with the confused player running and looking around trying to figure out where it was coming from until he died. Second experience: My friend and I were on top of the new police station and I was looking down the spiral staircase. All of a sudden, my friend begins shouting there was a man running up the stairs with an axe yelling at me to shoot. I could not see anyone walk up the stairs and begin getting axed. I ran down the stairs while this invisible person was behind me axing me. I could hear his footsteps and the axe hits but nothing else. I consequently died. The third experience I captured with video. My cousin became invisible to me and one of my other friends who reported the avatar in different locations that what I was seeing. Unfortunately, I only have footage of my perspective but I will try and coordinate all my friends to record so all the perspectives can be assessed and evaluated. -------------------------------------------------------------------- My friend's avatar is stuck in this position and mimics everything that he is doing on his screen. He was running around in the field by the firehouse in Elektro. As you can see, he picked up a white hard hat from somewhere and it appeared on his avatar. I also had another friend playing who was seeing this avatar in a completely different spot. I then ran outside and told him to punch the bus stop wall. He is directly in front of me punching it and you can clearly see and hear it but his avatar is still in the building to the left of the screen. I ran back up to check his body and it moved into that corner. I punched him to see if it would wound him on his screen and sure enough it did. Then his avatar made its way out of the building and stopped in the street. He was punching the zombie near the firehouse in the next video. The invisible man punching the zombie yet his body that I can see is just outside the building. Additonal Information: My friend, cousin, and I are all on wired connections and have suitable internet connections beyond 80Mbit. We do not experience any desync or other strange type of lag situations when the person is invisible. I've ruled out the new axe position since when my cousin became invisible, he was a fresh spawn with no gear. Maybe there is a connection here with how some zombies can become invisible so if the community can report their experience with this bug, the source of the problem will become easier to detect. The bug section only redirects you to the feedback tracker. Unless I am not seeing what you are talking about. However, I am posting it here so the thread will get the most visibility and more players can become aware of the situation and report it.
