I've got 2 tents in the factory east of Polana on DayZ US East 0-1 if anyone wants any of this gear.

In this most recent update, they've removed the new 3PP camera system. And I haven't found any zeds either. I'm also experiencing a strange inventory bug that I'm not sure has been present before. Sometimes when I double click items to grab them, they disappear completely but if I drag them into an inventory slot, it's fine.

There are many things involved with developing a video game, the most relevant to this topic is multi-platform support. Keep in mind, Bohemia is a business with only so many resources available. Decisions are made whether to expand a game to other platforms, dependent upon manpower, resources, availability, knowledge of future platform, etc. Although it would be awesome to see DayZ in as many platforms as we could imagine, which would make many a players happy, it just isn't always a viable option when it comes to develop. There are many things to consider when making this decision and Bohemia is in the business of making money as well as making great games. So there will always be a balance.

If the devs added Namalsk as a playable map i would cry of happiness

They were only using Namalsk as a testbed for future modding support. There were no confirmations on the addition of the map. -

I did love Namalsk, mainly because it had its own sounds with the new map. The temperature really had an effect on the player and if you didn't find the cold weather clothing, you couldn't go to certain places. It was very desolate, food was scarce, but provoked pvp because of that and easy acquisition of weapons. Nevertheless, a very harsh and difficult environment would be a cool addition to DayZ. Taviana was also great because of its pure size, wasn't it 600km² where Chernarus is 255km²? -
The experience DayZ brings is like nothing I've ever experienced in a game before. Your heart will jump out of your chest at every firefight/shady encounter/bullet cracking over your head. It is almost like a drug, I can't get enough of it. Then add in the fact that the only "plot" to DayZ is dictated by the players themselves, the amount of situations you'll encounter is endless. It is hard to describe but once you find yourself in those exact situations, you'll know what I mean.

I don't think a stamina system is here yet, that was slated for next quarter I believe.

I'm going to get in contact with Deadfast, the guy who made the 3PP mods for Arma 2 and 3, and see if it would be possible or even feasible to make a concept of my camera system in Arma 2 since 3ds Max just won't do it justice like in-game would. Sorry, the animations are a little lame and quick but I've been busy lately. Here are a few more videos for comparison of the default views to the concept. Default Look Left - Notice how you can look over the wall easily Concept Left 1 - The camera target and range to character move away/in at a relatively uniform pace. Concept Left 2 - The target moves away faster than the camera moves in. Default Look Down - Can easily be used to peek over walls. Concept Look Down - While doesn't fully prevent seeing over the wall, it is much more difficult since the camera immediately starts to look down and then move closer to the character so no more looking straight down to see someone directly on the other side of a fence or wall.

There are still some issues with it that I am going over currently and will put up a few more concepts of the camera track. Also, another issue with the camera closing in on the characters is when you are looking full left then look full right, the camera would move in and out very fast, creating some weird motions.

Loot spawn rates and locations are all screwy right now as Bohemia is trying to nail down persistence and loot economy so things will certainly change in the future. As far as the SKS, one reason there are so many is because nobody is picking them up since ammo only spawns at military locations. The SKS has never been able to fit the long range scope. With regards to carrying two weapons and using something in your hands, drop the weapon on the ground first before eating etc. If your weapon disappears when it hits the ground, retrace your steps as the weapon has most likely dropped earlier in your path. What you see on your screen is sometimes different from where the server thinks you are. This also applies to loot you sometimes can't pick up. Try vaulting to "reset" your character, it usually works.

Here is a concept I've had on my comp for a few months now and thought I should publish it now. The current 3PP camera system uses the character's head as a fixed focal point and is allowed to rotate around it with no restriction (seen in the first portion of the video. You can look over walls or corners easily). But if you allow the focal point to move and the camera to close in on the character if you want to look left, for example, now there is no way you can peek over that wall or look beyond your character's head. Obviously it doesn't fix every exploit such as being able to see some things over the wall or if the character was standing on the edge of the wall, you'd be able to see what's around the corner slightly. I think this coupled with a modified 4th wall technique could at least get rid of some "cheapness" to the camera.

I loved the Amphibia but it seems to have disappeared now. Magazines were also rare for that thing, probably nonexistent now.

I was having trouble crafting a splint but it seemed when I split both the rags and sticks down to one unit each, I was able to craft it instantly. Haven't been back on to verify completely since I did this last night.

Invisible hackers with axes seem rampant again.

Also, it seems global chat talking is back again. Unintentional it seems.
