    Jason Troll

Or just a guy in a Jason skin who likes to run around playing Friday the 13th music and have a good time. Half the ones I've encountered, including myself, do it for fun without hacks. A custom 'face' doesn't automatically mean they are hacking. It's part of ArmA 2.

    Hotfix Build 1.7.2.5 Rolling Update

This has not changed since 1.02, and is certainly still the case in 1.62. I am going to assume you have multiple GPUs in SLI or Crossfire? Your copy of GPU-Z is misreporting VRAM usage if those are the results you are seeing.

    "Friendly" hacker on US958

Or maybe he's just a guy that got sick of getting mass teleported to random places and having his last 10+ hrs nuked to smithereens by a script wielding child, so he has taken it upon himself to justify the use of a hack himself for what he might consider 'good' reasons. I think you may be over estimating the methodology of these cheaters. I highly doubt even 0.1% of the DayZ 'hacking' population are sociopathic enough to plan what you describe.

    Hotfix Build 1.7.2.5 Rolling Update

People should be running this setting at Default anyway, as any other setting uses < 512MB video memory. So unless people are running very old graphics cards, using even the 'Very High' setting is actually worse than 'Default'. It's really not hard to google ArmA 2 Graphics Tweaks folks. :( Your game must look seriously messed up with your 3D and interface resolutions set differently. A Wii connected to a CRT TV might even look better than that... :\ ArmA 2 Graphics Settings 101 - Read it, and thank me later. P.S. All the artifacting I was experiencing in Berezino, Cherno and Stary has vanished with this hotfix (was always using 'Default' for video memory, as mentioned above).

    To the baby's moaning

lol @ idiots claiming crouch run doesn't aggro zeds from 60m+ away I'm sorry but your servers must have had 1 zed spawned in the entire town you were crouch running in because that is 100% bullshit. 1.7.1.4 crouch running is 3 sound / 3 vision *on grass*, let alone on a road. I personally don't think that's a massive problem, as I perhaps have more patience than some people when it comes to sneaking my way around, however claiming you don't aggro zeds while crouch running everywhere is just pathetic elitism. These forums don't need bullshit artists claiming any given patch is a gift from god, they need people to point out the fucking flaws in the patch so they can be assessed and addressed. If you all continue to smear your noses in brown day in, day out, you're gonna wind up with a game you wont even want to play, so stop complaining about people complaining, and go do something constructive with your time because you're wasting a whole lot of it here.

    Build 1.7.1 Rolling Update

I like the zombies hitting harder and the fact you can 'hide' from them, but right now the game is borderline unplayable because of the issues with Zombie LoS and attacking through walls, which was the entire point of increasing how hard they hit and how far they can see you in the first place wasn't it? Is there plans to address this in a hot patch very soon? If not I feel the playerbase is going to go downhill very quickly. :(

    Darwin List: Banned Users

The real valid point of this topic is that some of the hacking victims may have been banned as well, for just looting a weapon off a dead body. This is collateral which sadly happens if you want to step up and drive the hackers away. That is the biggest issue I have. The rest brought it on themselves to be completely honest. But not everyone did, and that's not on at all as far as I'm concerned. Those with hacked items looted from others better not be global banned, or some money is rightly owed to those innocent parties.

    Darwin List: Banned Users

Whoa there buddy' date=' you've demonstrated a misguided line of reasoning here. Spending money on ArmA II does not entitle you to a single byte of Day Z data. You don't buy Day Z, you buy ArmA II, and an independent entity is in control of your ability to play Day Z. Spending 30$/20£ on a game with the intent of playing a single mod is fine, as long as you understand that you have no rights for that mod, only revocable privileges. Players who are banned from Day Z are more than welcome to check out some of ArmA's other fine mods and missions. [/quote'] I appreciate that everyone posting is against cheating, that is a good thing. Cheats can ruin multiplayer games completely. But these bans are a global BattleEye ban as I understand it. You can't play ArmA2 either if you have been banned in DayZ. At least that is the way I read it. Correct me if I'm wrong? rocket did state these global BE bans essentially 'bricked' multiplayer ArmA 2 cd-keys. Now I'm not advocating cheating at all, I don't believe in it, I think it's pretty sad to be honest, but this has gotten to the point where people need to start realising that these bans aren't something Bohemia should want to deal with since they're going to be forced to refund some people's money *if* they start asking for refunds (lets face it, none of them will anyway but the point is still valid). As far as I am aware, there are no hacks in existence for ArmA 2 that reverse engineer or directly modify the files shipped with the game, which are the only stipulations in the EULA. If there are, then I'm am certainly mistaken, and those specific bans are well within the rights of the developer, any others however are not. I'm all for protecting DayZ's integrity at such a crucial point in the mod's development.. I love the mod, but banning people's ArmA 2 CD-Keys globally from BattleEye for cheating in a mod in alpha *testing* is NOT the way to do it. rocket.. I like your mod mate, I really do, you and your team have done a great job so far, and I trust you will continue to do so, but you are being a bit childish at the moment don't you think? It just seems a bit like you're power tripping based on the way you have written your posts about people's ArmA 2 copies being bricked. You said it with such enthusiasm like it was an amazing triumph, even though there is no actual legal standing for it to be done that doesn't breach the licensor's (Bohemia Interactive) part of the EULA. The reason being, limited warranties are actually not legally upheld in many countries now, and all warranties implied or otherwise are handled in the country of purchase, not the country mentioned in the EULA (in this case Czechoslovakia). End User License Agreements and Terms of Use law is dangerous waters these days, things really aren't how they used to be, you really need to look before you dive. You don't want to mess around with the FTC and the ACCC and similar agencies. It's no good for anybody. In saying all that.. I'm fairly certain cheating players are not educated on any of these points, and none of this will even have an impact on Bohemia. I just don't like the way some people are behaving, dancing around with such glee in the posts on here. It says a lot about the state of the world when people don't even stand up for their rights, and just believe everything they are told by corporations. Question everything, or you might aswell just lie down and wait to die now guys.
