Ok it looks like it has not saved the .cfg files at all. Does it specifcally look for 'My Documents' as I have the folder named 'Documents' If I rename it would it maybe help? or should I just restore the location to my pc? Edit: Just thought I would restore it and see if it made a difference. It seems it has.

Hi, Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing a bug where my settings will reset everytime I open the game up. I am talking about everything. Key bindings, resolution settings, my name. Everything. I havn't seen anyone speak of this issue so it might be something specific to me. My thinking is that it could be the fact that 'my documents' is not physically located on my machine, but rather on my file server. I would rather not change the location. Has anyone had this issue and do you have a fix for it?

The most common 'cheat' used in DayZ...

I am a bit between both worlds with this topic. I think that it gets an advantage over people, but I enjoy using it and speaking to friends. I think a simple way to even it out would be that direct communication is permanently on. This means that everyone can hear everything you are saying. Might be a bit annoying but it will stop the people 'ambushing' you. -
Solving Both End-Game/Meta-Game and KoS Problems At Once

I will admit that I only read the first few pages of this thread, so I apologize if I am repeating things. I personally find that KOS is fairly annoying (being a new player) but that is because I find it so hard to see other players I need Doritos above their heads hahaha. But that is not my point. I accept it, and while I try to be friendly it usually ends bad for me most still try to kill me. As stated by others its probably got to do with the fact that it is basically a zombie survival game without zombies, and not a whole lot do being alpha and all. Anyway I was going to make the statement that KOS is not that strange, or different to what I think would actually happen if this scenario were real. At first I think most people would have a hard time killing someone, but as something like this progresses people would get desensitised to killing and violence. It would be hard to trust people you know let alone a stranger. -
Thank you for being better than DICE

I have always believed that BF4 would have been so much better if they released it to say 5000 experienced players for an alpha. There are just so many issues that probably were not apparent with the amount of people playing currently. I don't think they could have seen some of the issues. (things like the sound bugs etc I am surprised they made it into the final game) With that, this is the reason why I think that when DayZ is released it will be of great quality. However with that said most people don't think of it as the DayZ alpha, they think its the finished game. -
Stop changing spawns until....

From what I have read and watched, my understanding is that it would be a warning system. So that you won't get banned and have to wait if the server crashes. My guess would be if you switch between a few servers in X minutes you will get banned for Y mins. Hopefully it increases the more you do it, so if you get banned get back on and do it again the time banned doubles or something.
