Every time I start DayZ I reset my "Hold Breath" key bind to "B" and remove "hold second mouse button." I also change my interact binding to scroll wheel only. Once I back out of those key bindings it shows the new binding, however once I exit out of the whole menu it ALWAYS resets back to the default. I have set other bindings and have no problem getting them to stay, however these two refuse to stay on the news bindings I set and always reset. What could I be doing wrong and why won't DayZ accept the new binds?

I have two (1st person and 3PP) five month old characters with fully decked gear - bipod mosins with LRS, MP M4 with all the sights, tactical vests, 300 rounds of ammo, etc. They represent dozens of hours of scouring for loot, and then when they were fully-geared and all the hackers started stealing from inventory, I got scared to use them and let them sit on the servers all this time. Now I want to use them before the wipe but I have no idea where to go to find other players since I haven't played in so long. One is in berezino and the the other is in NWAF. Where should I go to find players? Thanks.

I only exit out using the "close" buttons. There is no "save" option in the config menu.

So because I want to PVP and engage other players instead of running around looking for beans that makes me a COD player? What do you do in this game? Spend your entire time fishing?

Lol. You're saying that giving noobs cans of food is more exciting than PVP? And what would be the point of giving them food? What is their end game? To find food and give it to other noobs in some kind of huge circle of life? If you had it your way, people wouldn't shoot others on site. So then no one would ever engage in PVP except in rare circumstances. Sounds super lame.

I mean that I feasibly have a defense against players who are using speedhacks and unlimited ammo. I have zero defense against gear stealers. I'm American. I guess I never considered rephrasing it because I didn't think anyone would actually interpret my post as someone coming onto the official DayZ forums and stating that they hack the game so they can counter the hackers. If I was going to do that, it would make sense for me to use the same hacks as them and steal it right back. My point was that I can learn to play with an occasional hacker who modifies their speed or ammo. I absolutely can't play the game with hackers who can steal all of my gear straight out of my inventory.

I recently started playing again after a 4 month break. Some of my settings constantly reset. I rebind my hold breath key to change it to "F" and then remove "F" as default action. Whenever I restart the game though, they are always reset back to the defaults and I have to rebind them. The other custom bindings I have done don't change. I have also noticed that my server filters keep resetting. At one point I put the phrase "experimental" in the server filter. Whenever the aforementioned config bindings reset, my server filter also reverts back to including the phrase "experimental" in it. Where is it even getting that information from after I have removed it?

This has been an issue for 6 months now. I have it too and have to exit Dayz and completely restart when joining a new server. It is in the bug tracker and acknowledged but devs have not updated it at all and to my knowledge, not progressed at attempting to fix it (or at least are saying if they have). I doubt it will be fixed anytime soon so you should probably try a complete reinstall. I think that is the only thing fixing it.

I've lost faith. Millions of dollars in sales. More than a hundred people working on it, and they still can't push fixes and development at a decent pace. I seriously doubt vehicles will be in before 2015. They can't get a handle on the rampant hacking situation, and there are huge bugs that they haven't even addressed on the bug tracker other than to say "acknowledged." The sardine art is a tuna can and the tuna art is a sardine can. How hard is it to switch those?

I cannot believe I leave the game for FIVE months because of the hacking, and then when I come back it is worse than ever. There is absolutely no way I am going to spend 20 hours looking for gear when hacks exist where players can instantly steal gear directly out of your inventory. At least with unlimited ammo and speedhacks I have some defense. This is game breaking.

I noticed this server in the host list, which bans server hopping and ghosting. Do admins have the authority to ban people from a public server for this? I logged in to a military base for the first time and was kicked within 30 seconds. I was planning to snipe people from the tower, but I was not server hopping. I suspect I was kicked for suspected server hopping. I then logged in again, and was kick/banned. I would suspect server hopping is possibly under Rule 12 from http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/62195-server-hosting-rules-updated-3009/ however it doesn't seem to me like logging in inside the military base is justifiable evidence of server hopping, as required under the "solid evidence" clause.

I was watching a streamer and noticed he was able to gradually change the zoom level on his LRS. For mine, when I press my right mouse button to zoom, it automatically zooms all the way in to 100%. How do I change my key binds so I can gradually adjust it if I want, and do something like only zoom in a little bit, or all the way?

Helping people do what? Get geared enough so they can PVP? What's the end game?

I had two characters on experimental - one on regular and one on hardcore. Decent gear on them but only a few hours worth. Both characters received the "unable to load your character data and it has been wiped" message. I also had it happen yesterday, and earlier this morning. I'm not complaining, just wanted to warn people who might want to keep characters longer than 4 hours and play on experimental.

I don't think you understand the definition of "literally."

The dev team didn't do that, the server admin did. And it is a violation of the server hosting rules. Nothing will be done about it though because currently no real action is taken against admins who violate the rules, but it's not from the dev team but the guy who rents the server.

When I try to set my game to experimental, it doesn't download anything like it used to, and it will allow me to join stable branch even though I have it specified in my properties to opt into the experimental. When I filter servers, no experimentals show up. Is anyone able to join them and if so, does anyone know why the game doesn's seem to be recognizing that I want to play experimental and doesn't download the update for it? I've been playing on them for a couple months so I don't know what has changed.

Today I logged into Svetlo on Experimental and the town was unlooted. Knowing how bone dry experimental servers are for loot, I proceeded to loot the whole town. I found two mosins, an SKS, and a sportster, and hid all but one in some bushes, solely so others couldn't get them and use them against me. I felt guilty doing it, but if someone picks up that other mosin, they're going to compete with me for finding ammo, or they're going to shoot me in the head with it. Also, if no one picks it up, they are visibly less of a danger to me since I can easily see they don't have a gun (whether they have ammo for it or not). I also do the same at military bases. I'm just wondering how common this tactic is.

It's funny because I have not found a LRS in 400 hours of gameplay and came to this thread for hints, and then saw that you posted this thread of mine. I am currently looting NWAF over and over until I find a LRS. I have looted the entire place, which is 8 hangars, 3 baracks and a tent now, at least 20 times with no LRS.

Does anyone know if it affects your character at all? Can anyone confirm it affects aim? I have the leg pain message too, but I don't have that "fractured" status message and I can run and do everything else just fine. I just scream every once in awhile.

It takes maybe 30 seconds, out of a character that will last for 10-15 hours. What else should I be doing in Dayz with that 30 seconds? Running?

For those who do think it is dickish, do you hide someone's corpse after you kill them? Or leave it there so others can have gear too?

And who is to say that fight for survival doesn't involve making friends with other players instead of killing everyone you see?

It's been two hours since I logged off of a hardcore server after an hour of looting. Now I'm a fresh spawn. Are they wiping characters on it? I don't think it's likely a zombie killed me based on where I logged out.
