True that's why I suggested perhaps a flipside reward to killing such as coming upon a survivor who is being held by bandits, if you rescue you him there could be some kind of reward. Although killing people is still a lot easier and more common, perhaps there would rather be a chance to receive a trophy when killing someone to make it more balanced. If this was cosmetic as well it could be something flashy perhaps a headpiece or mask that would shout "Hey I'm a mass murderer!" so when you see this person out in the field it would trigger you to want to KoS.
I was thinking what if there was some kind of trophy system which centered around PvP, you would collect items off of players you kill such as ears or something like that. This could be split between bandit kill and survivor rescues as well. The system could also go deeper and include a way to turn in the trophies for special items, so the longer you survive and more people you kill/rescue the better reward you can obtain. Probably best to just be cosmetic items in my opinion. These trophies could also be looted off dead players to make for a bigger risk.
