So what happens when zombies can run up stairs?

The game becomes more challenging. Development- win!

Wich vehicles do you want to see in the SA?

I have always been a fan, in the DayZ mod, of personal vehicles. Motorcycle, bicycle, ATV. Mainly because I am a loner and have no friends. No one loves me.

    Opening Doors Still A Chore

Doors should open the way you open them, eventually. It gets a little annoying when, every time, you open a door, you get pushed behind it. Now you have to work with an off- in my opinion- collision system to get around the door. On that note, I also think the collision system needs a little touch-up. :P

    Strange Door Glitch in Elektro

Just thought I would show people what happens when you run into doors that are not meant to be open in Elektro. And then... This happened across the street of the fire station near the well. You cannot shoot bullets into or out of this spot. I have already reported it, just thought I might share how interesting being apart of the Alpha is. :D
  5. Excuse me if my programming knowledge is limited, and if i get anything wrong. But isn't the main complaint with 3rd person the fact that people can camp around corners or, in general, use it to get a visual advantage over other players who use 1st person? If that is the case, wouldn't it be possible to make a script that draws a LoS (Line of Sight) from your character to the models of anything else non-aesthetic in game? (I.E. Wild game, Zeds, and other players.) If this function determines there to be an obstruction in between you and them, then the player model would be made invisible. I am sure there is something out there... let me find it quick.

    System to Punish KoS

I am sure once the game gets further down the road, loot being "ruined" will have an actual negative other than visuals. Meaning it is in your best interest, if robbing for gear, to literally hold someone up and not kill them. But to be honest, most people who KoS don't do it for the gear so there is no point in changing anything gear related.
  7. Not a huge fan of flat out KoS, but I do like actually being a bandit. Nothing like outwitting someone, getting what you need, and then sending you and the person their own separate ways. It adds ACTUAL interaction to the game and a reason to play smart and press the "CAPS" button once in a while. But that day will, sadly, more than likely never come to pass. KoS, though, gives people a reason to check every corner and scout before rushing in someplace. So the suspense part is fun.

There is not much need to get mathematical about it, although I love seeing people put effort into their posts. Simply put... Imagine waking up. Oh would you look at that, it is 7:00am! You are almost late to work. You hastily toss on your work clothes, re-heat your "Holiday" mocha from last night because you forgot to buy coffee at the store yesterday. Making that a reminder, you procede to step outside into the morning light. As you reach your garage you find a note your wife left: "My car didn't start again so I borrowed yours for work. I'm sorry sweety. I left a couple dollars in the vans cup holders so you could pick up some breakfast at McDonalds. I love you and see you tonight! Also, could you pick up some more baby formula? Mom is going to be dropping Jill off tonight after babysitting and I saw that we were out. Love, Your Wife Chloe." Blast! Why couldn't she take the van, you wonder to yourself. Never the less, you do like a good McGriddle... You walk back outside and notice the family Chrysler van has been heated up for you. You casually make your way to the car, wondering about that formula and how you would love to avoid that bastard Jim at the office today. As you reach for the car door, you hear foot steps to your right. A man, standing at a distance at which you would play catch with an 8 year old. It is a calm autumn day. The sun is shining brightly in the crisp, morning sky. The man is dressed in a tenured red checkered shirt with slightly ripped jeans. This man sports a blue backpack and an eskew smile. "Hello sir." You state, "What are you doing on our driveway?" The man looks at you and says "Don't worry, I'm friendly." He pulls a revolver out and clicks it back, you immediately puff your chest out at him in defiance. In a mere moment, you felt a burning sensation well up in your chest. A 3 inch hole where your heart should be. In your last words, you mutter... "He said... Friendly..." And there you have it. Bullets to the chest hurt,

Why can't we agree a bullet to the chest from point blank range would kill someone? This fighting is tearing this family apart!

Agreed, I am a firm believer in player interaction in this game. Any change that supports that is a plus to me. Before spawn changes, it was almost like an instant gun fight.

My DayZ Experience: First Time Banditry

Banditry is not simply a "Let's rack up a huge body count!" play style. It is way more interesting, in my opinion, to rob people and come out on top without any death. It adds an aspect of game play that is not only different, but makes the game interesting for everyone of any play style. You can be a pacifist, a hero, or another bandit, and you are just as likely to be the victim as anyone else. This form of banditry is not only challenging and rewarding, but it gives everyone a reason to look over their shoulders while they loot. Without it, the game becomes a mindless item grind/sparse zombie shooter. I'm proud to say, I get to be amongst the members of the community that make people fear looting high-pop towns. Not to mention how fun it is listening to people's reaction as they remove their shoes.

Most of the "Noobs" come from mainstream shooters. Hence the all to common "Let's all spawn in Balota and duke it out for hours for the trash loot that has been taken already." mentality. (Before spawn changes, of course) DayZ is meant to be as unforgiving as it gets, everything in the environment will one day become a problem. Watch out, because the game is merely in pre-alpha... It only gets worse from here.

My DayZ Experience: First Time Banditry

If you do it properly, even the most well armed players are rob-able by a man with a pistol. People have to eat or drink soon, or put themselves in a building where they can be held up with no chance to turn around and draw weapon. Be smart and banditry is fun, suspenseful, and rewarding. Without the need to kill anything that moves. As long as they remove their shoes, of course.
