Can I Run DayZ Mod? (POST HERE)

Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E545 (20B20011US) laptop with an AMD Dual-Core A6-5350M CPU (Min 2.9 GHz), and an AMD Radeon HD 8450G GPU. 4 GB DDR3 RAM and 320 GB Hard Drive. Screen Resolution is 1366 x 768.
  2. ***CORRECTION*** The laptop i am looking at is a Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E545 (20B20011US) complete with an AMD Dual-Core A6-series APU and an AMD Radeon HD 8450G GPU, which will only set me back about $440. will THIS laptop be able to run DayZ smoothly without any problems?
  3. okay guys so after giving it much thought, i'm now trying to decide between either buying parts for the afore mentioned desktop computer that i already have, or purchasing a brand new laptop. the laptop that i am looking at is an HP built with an AMD Quad-Core A8-550M Accelerated Processor, and an AMD Radeon HD 8550G. it is about $500. the reason i am considering a laptop and not just building a desktop from scratch is because i will be going away to college in the fall and i'm gonna need a new laptop anyway. seeing as a laptop would be much more useful in college, i am leaning towards this option so as to invest in something that i will be using for years to come, as opposed to spending $300/$400 on parts for a desktop that i would only be using for the next 7 months or so. would this laptop be able to run DayZ smoothly without any problems?
  4. well i just tried playing Arma 2 OA on the previously mentioned HP desktop computer, and it is barely better than the laptop at lowest graphic setting. Would anyone like to recomend a graphics card or other solution to improve graphic performance on this desktop?
  5. Alright cool. And did you make any modifications to the laptop or is it the same as you bought it 2 years ago?
  6. *That emoji is supposed to be a "(B)" lmao
  7. Let's say that i just happen to have a HP Pavilion Slimline s3905f PC desktop at my disposal, with specs as stated below. Would this be able to run DayZ? 8. You should definitely post a follow up and let us know how it runs bro. And what model is it?
  9. Also, do most people play DayZ on desktops?
  10. oh damnn guys i didn't know that you can't get a new graphics card for a laptop!! :/ ughhh okay so aside from getting/building/using a desktop instead, do i have any other options?
  11. I recently downloaded the Arma II: Operation Arrowhead free demo from Steam to test my laptop's performance capabilities and to see if it would be able to run DayZ (which i plan to buy), since they are basically the same game. The demo was laggy, as predicted, even on the lowest setting. I tried defragging my laptop and uninstalling a few unuesed programs and all the other little tips that you can find everywhere to speed up performance. They did not help at all. So i am now considering buying a new and improved graphics card so that i can actually play DayZ smoothly and without lagging. The problem is, i know basically nothing about graphics cards, so i was hoping this community could offer me some guidance. My laptop model is the Toshiba Satellite C655-S5049 The specs are as followed: Processor / ChipsetCPU Intel Celeron 900 / 2.2 GHz Cache L2 cache - 1.0 MB Front Side Bus 800.0 MHz Chipset Mobile Intel GL40 Express MemoryRAM 2.0 GB Max RAM Supported 4.0 GB Technology DDR3 SDRAM Slots Qty 2 Empty Slots 1.0 StorageFloppy Drive None Hard Drive 250.0 GB HDD Interface Serial ATA-150 Storage Removable None Optical Drive DVD±RW (±R DL) / DVD-RAM Read Speed 24x (CD) / 8x (DVD) Write Speed 24x (CD) / 8x (DVD±R) / 6x (DVD±R DL) Rewrite Speed 24x (CD) / 6x (DVD-RW) / 8x (DVD+RW) / 5x (DVD-RAM) Optical Drive (2nd) None Hard drive type Portable Audio & VideoGraphics Processor Intel GMA 4500M - 128.0 MB Memory Allocation Technology Dynamic Video Memory Technology 5.0 Max Allocated RAM Size 829.0 MB Sound Stereo speakers BatteryTechnology 6-cell Lithium ion Installed Qty 1.0 Capacity 48.0 Wh Run Time 4.6 hour(s) AC AdapterVoltage Required AC 120/230 V ( 50/60 Hz ) Output 65.0 Watt So what graphics card would you recomend i purchase?
