Survey: How many of you played the Mod or ArmaII/III?
res replied to airfell's topic in General Discussion
Fuck Wasteland or Altis Life, I play ARMA 3 for the combat, editor and it's campaign. +Being able to port DayZ SA to it and mess with gamefiles and do experiments with vehicles in Chernarus+ almost seems a privilege. -
"The map is NOT small" Here comes the expert I guess. Yes, it's really small, it takes 5 minutes to drive from Solnichniy to Balota with a SUV. Let's not even talk about choppers. I tried one in Chernarus+ and it took a minute to get from the coast to the NWAF. "You don't explore enough" excuse is bullshit, after having nothing to do and being overloaded with ammo and food, I did nothing but go to places that I would consider interesting. Didn't last a day. The map is little.

Kvass and beer have very little in common. And no alcohol, back when I still lived in Ukraine, (I was a little kid), people sold kvass barrels on the street. I used to drink a lot of it, it's delicious.

The Anti-Game - Why DayZ will stay a crappy game

Can only be closed by OP's request. The strongest part of the flaming and insults has been already said, I don't see the reason why you all keep saying that. -
The Anti-Game - Why DayZ will stay a crappy game

Please. DayZ is a game. Like any other game on the market where you kill, do what the game allows you to do, and turn off your computer with no consequences for you or anyone. -
The same fucking fantasy where people whine about feeling bad after killing in game; friendlies, geared people or newspawns..
-
Yes, but I have the mental strenght to be the first one to do it :D. I'll be having his gear while he gets pissed and re-thinks if being good and trusting is really worth it.
-
Maybe to you, but I wouldn't take any water from anyone who made me drop my beatiful gun. Now, I would proceed to my own business after being hold up. Weeks earlier I would've shoot them in the back of their heads the second I got my gun back.
-
If you want to hold up someone succesfully, you've got to scare the shit out of him, make your low pitched growling voice rumble through his chest. "Hey MOTHERFUCKER you've got 5 seconds to drop that fucking gun or I WILL FEED YOUR BRAINS TO THE ZOMBIES." "I feel SO trigger happy today." Don't be a pussy and say "PLEASE drop your weapon I don't want to shoot you." Weakness shows through. *Count down 5 seconds through the microphone, do it at a faster pace to stress him* If he doesn't drop the gun, round through the skull. If he drops it, proceed to rob him. Also, what the hell? First you make him drop his gun and then you offer him food and water? Logic? Tell him that he's lucky you didn't shoot him in the face.

Well..f*ck. :( -
You should be happy there are people like this in the game. Trying to interact, revealing when they are. This gives you a chance to live, if I want someone's gear I won't be asking them to stop, I'll hide, aim carefully, and finish you with one bullet.
-
No..I'm bored of it now, but 137 hours is quite enough for a game in it's alpha.

I posted my thoughts in here, and of course I keep arguing back, I'm defending my opinion AND vision of the game and it's direction, I argue back to prove that it's actually a good, backed up by arguments point of view. -

Thread/discussion of 6 pages not exactly shows that no one cares, clever guy. You see, you enter enter a thread that you don't like that has NOTHING to do with you, and instead of actually ignoring it, you comment and let people know that you're ignoring it. <Sarcasm> WOW, you must be really important, mister GungZA. -

But then don't you hardcore gamers promote exploration and that "true" DayZ experience is in 40/40 servers? Looks like the true DayZ experience is broken.. -

Tool? Who I am being used by? I'm pretty sure I know about the situation around me. I'm saying that an alpha game has failed because it's NOW when unfortunally DayZ is getting attention. Not in full release. It's now when DayZ is popular. And DayZ now isn't in a good condition. But still the way people play this game isn't going to change. Harder zombies? More zombies? More difficulty? Realistic interaction in a post-apocalyptic world has 2 factors: ·Fear of death, fear of the unknown, in real life, it doesn't matter how much people you've seen die, you still never know untill the time comes. ·Hunt or be hunted, because when human race is brought back to the basics of survival after YEARS of being brainwashed by the government, suddenly loses everything they were fighting for (like jobs, money, family), and is left alone with no TV or Internet to get advice from, we lose out humanity, and slowly DOWNGRADE to our basics of survival, BECAUSE WE NEED TO, BECAUSE WE DON'T KNOW WHAT THE OTHER HUMAN HAS ON HIS MIND ABOUT US. Now for this last factor I can quote Fallout 3: War. War never changes. Since the dawn of human kind, when our ancestors first discovered the killing power of rock and bone, blood has been spilled in the name of everything: from God to justice to simple, psychotic rage. THIS is always present in DayZ, BUT the fear factor is missing. Therefore THERE IS NO BALANCE. It's not only about the glitches, it's about everything. -

This game fails in it's core objectives; realistic survival, post-apocalyptic player interaction since it's multiplayer, and immersion. And players IGNORE this while putting cheap and dumb excuses like "It's alpha". Realistic survival? Let me put a bullet through your arm and let's see if you're still able to wield that M4 after only bandaging yourself. Realistic post-apocalyptic player interaction? What Slyguy65 said. You're safely sitting your ass in a comfortable chair behind a screen. Immersion? Oh yeah, so much immersion when you speak to the body of a grown man and a little 13 year old kid speaks through his body. Alpha isn't going to fix that ^. -

THIS. THIS is the reason why the DayZ's post-apocalyptic realism concept will never work. The first time you die, the immersion breaks and you stop giving a fuck. -

Because I used to love it and have tons of fun with it. This game's development is based on the players' feedback and suggestions. I can't erase my account, and I WILL BE BACK when this gets better. I just wanted to leave the last of thoughts on all of this for now. -

It is still the same story just with more choices to do. I'm not mad at all, I'm just really tired of this game and the cheap excuses people defend this failure with. -

I assume you haven't played much in this game. I've been as cruel as the game allows you to be. After a while, it gets boring and repetitive. You'll see. "Cruel and strong will survive" Bullshit. It's a fucking game. Earning real life money is way more of an achievement that surviving this piece of cake of a game. -

It's even easier, just like these people screaming ALPHA at anyone who has a complain, I was sharing my opinion after playing for a while. It's not about attention, it's about SUGGESTING that FUCKING maybe, this game (A GAME IN ALPHA STATE WHICH IS BEING DEVELOPED WITH THE PLAYERS' FEEDBACK AND SUGGESTIONS, which means that your opinion here is not more important than mine, or anyone else's) is not going in the right direction. This is the Internet, IF I want to tell fucking everyone about it, I'll do it I if I really want, HOWEVER the fuck I want, and WHENEVER the fuck I want. Prove me wrong. Really getting tired of all of this "hardcore gaming" and "Alpha" cheap fucking excuses for a game that NEEDS to be properly fixed.
