Current humanity +30270. That is with two player kills for my total time played over the last few months. One player I shot back when you spawned with pistols. I spawned in and heard shots. I saw a guy shooting at another player who was spawining in so I shot him. The second kill was after chasing down a guy who gunned down one of our buddies as he was spawning in. Dead before he even left the loading screen. Another friend and I were on the way to meet him where he had camped out. We heard the shot and saw the kill message so we ran up, chased the bandit down and gave him a dirt nap. I guess I have given a lot of blood bags, to strangers as well as friends. Not to mention pills, morphine, etc. Hero? Maybe. Survivor? Definately.

Myself and a friend went around and around yesterday again with such issues. On your question, there is probably a way to separate the content between C: and D: like you say but I think that the complexity of editing the game configs is much more daunting and problematic than working within the mod setup restrictions. I would say that you are still seeing the error about "You cannot play edit....." because the @DayZ folder is not directly in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\. That is where the game wants to look for mods. Your option -mod=@DayZ;ca is telling Arma2 that, hey I have a mod and I want to use it when I load but, there is no path information in that string so it wants it to be in the ..operation arrowhead folder within steam. Translation= You cannot play edit this mod because you told me that you have a mod but the files I need to start it for you are not where I know that they should be. The day before yesterday I went through deleting the OA game from steam, deleting its sub-folder and letting it reinstall from scratch. I then copied the @DayZ mod folder back into it and then I let Six Updater perform the updates fresh for both. Reading back through your post again I have to ask, is your Steam installation installed on D: completely? i.e. D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\ or some such. If EVERYTHING is installed there; Steam, ARMA, OA, DayZ, the game should not care. I stress should not because with programmers you can never tell what secret surprise piece of code is waiting to be discovered that will bust your "I want to run everything thing from my RAM (or SS drive) drive" bubble. As of last night the only way I could get into a game was to join it from Six Updater because if I launch the mod from the shortcut or steam, I can see no servers. I then search for a game on GameTracker and then use that IP address within the game to directly, or REMOTE, connect to a game. Yeah. Fun stuff! But, that is a different issue.

I am fairly certain that it is 53 total items, of any type. I had personal experience trying to put a magazine into a tent that evidently was full at 53. The magazine was eaten.

From what I have seen, the message "...requires downloadable content that is not available or has been deleted with this list, dayz_code, dayz_config, dayz_wepons, and dayz_vehicles" refers to the fact that you are trying to join a DayZ server but the mod is not active. If you are launching from Steam, right-click on the "Arma2: Operation Arrowhead" listing in your Steam library. Choose the option at the bottom, "Properties". On the first tab named "General" look at the bottom and click on "Set Launch Options...". In the Launch Options window there is a box that you can type into at the bottom. As a minimum you need to add "-mod=@DayZ;ca" (without the " " quotes). Type no space before the '-' and no space after 'ca'. This will tell Steam to use the mod. EDIT: In case you don't know when you launch from Steam you must also choose the Combined Operations launch option. "Launch Arma2: Combined Operations" NOTE: Just for extra info; I also use these; -nosplash -world=empty NOTE: For any extra options like these there is a space between each different option If you are using Six Launcher it will automatically use the -mod=@DayZ;ca option and the option indicating that it will load the beta version. If you are launching from a desktop shortcut you will need to right-click on the shortcut and choose "Properties". In the target window you will see that it is pointing to the executable to use and any options after that. For example: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\arma2oa.exe" -mod=@DayZ;ca -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplash -world=empty -cpucount=4 -exThreads=7 Breaking that down you see the following: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\arma2oa.exe" This is the path to the regular executable. (Double quotes are required) -mod=@DayZ;ca Tells Arma2 to load the @Dayz mod and Combined Operations-beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion This option tells the game to load the expansion's beta executable-nosplash -world=empty These last two make the game load faster by not loading the Bohemia Interactive logos and preventing the game from loading game models on the main screen (like ships, hummers, etc.I hope this helps.

Punishing bandits? Shut up, seriously.
JustZombieJames replied to Inception.'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Perhaps you are right. People killing others for sport, PKing for no good reason. That is childish. I was just playing and saw a guy looting a chopper. He did a good job moving up to it clearing zombies with his AK. I had just recently found a rifle so I watched the whole thing through my scope. I found myself watching the zombies around him more than just keeping a bead on him, thinking to myself I would lay them flat if they charged him. But, that is me. Don't get me wrong I would lay someone out if I had the chance and they were trying to gank my beans but, I had no reason to shoot that guy. Beside he had style too. He ran back up the field hopped on his bicycle and rode away. -

Bandits are just cowards. They have a very liberal attitude really. Kill other players because you are too weak and lazy to scavenge and brave dangerous spots. Maybe you do hit the dangerous spots sometimes but, it still shows your lazy side to go for the 'easy' pickings of a fellow player. I have been killed several times by bandits without warning. And, just as many times I have had an unsuspecting player in my sight or literally in my cross hairs, and not killed them. Why? Because I had no need to. There is no need to. If you are out of food an starting to blink. Get your lazy butt to a barn or town and find some food. If you want a better weapon search the deer stands and military sites. Give a little effort and grow a pair with some hair on them. Just yesterday I started blinking so huffed and puffed to Gorka and crept into a barn looking for drink. I blinked for a long time and didn't drop dead or kill a fellow player in panic. But sure enough I found a drink. And do you know what. When I turned to go back and check the side room of the barn another player shot and killed me. Why? Because he pissed his pants when I turned around. If he was REALLY concerned I was going to kill him he would have not followed me into the barn without calling out in Direct chat. Wow. What a novel idea. People trying to communicate with each other. I have only had a handful of people use Direct chat. One guy used it to call out to me and a friend at a hospital once. Saying hey, I mean no harm. We let him approach. We all went into the hospital together and without him asking I offered to use a blood pack on him. I think he was floored by that. I could tell he had bad experiences with the neanderthals in the game because he seemed uneasy and dismissed himself quickly. We went on our merry way after. I also find it somewhat ridiculous about people calling banditry a PvP encounter. If you shoot at someone from cover without them being aware, that is not player combat. That is not PvP. That is assassination. It is one sided. You can whine and moan all day but you cannot call it PvP. If you had real stones you would call out and make your target aware of your intent to kill them and then take their gear for no good reason. But oh, that would even the playing field somewhat. I am heartened to see the few large groups that have taken initiative to have their fun in a more productive way, i.e. offering medical services or even mercenary assaults. That is so much more creative that hiding behind a bush and waiting to snipe someone as they try to do some thing silly like upgrade their gear at a military tent. Shame on them. I mean really, boys, who died and decided all the gear in the game is yours to control. When you are older and have some maturity under you belt you may understand. And, if you are older and still don't get it well someday you may even mature. For now you rabid Yorkies can bark and wail at my post all you want. It will not change the way I play the game. And for everyone that has assisted a fellow player and made life saving choices, hats off to you. -
US 808 - Kicking players, only letting clan members play
JustZombieJames replied to Ringo (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I just verified this. I loaded to the Player screen on US 808 and was promptly kicked. The MOTDs read: your going to get kicked YOUR Going to get kicked blue huskies only.... and syler Despite being rude, the grammar is terrible. -
In the server choice window it reads: DayZ - US327 (1.7.1.5/93965) (Regular|3D:ON|CH:ON) dayzmod.com - MIA TAG server | Vilayer.com If you would like me to attach the screenshots another way I can as well JZJ

I saw a low population server and decided to jump on and saw some very interesting MOTDs. MOTD: Server choice screen: To me this looks a lot like a threat. Kill us on our server and we will ban you. I chose not to play in there little world but thought that someone here should know about their threat. It is their server but, I won't play with them if they want to be that way. I would HOPE that they just have issues typing clear thoughts in English. JZJ

Kicking of Players for Clan members
JustZombieJames replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
I want to say that I have already seen this comment but it is worth mentioning again, if you buy and or rent a server for Arma2 that has nothing to do with the DayZ mod. You can play and administer your Arma2 server however Bohemia regulates you to do so. However, you did not PAY for DayZ and, Rocket has been nice enough to let you use it while he develops it without cost to you. You own no rights to DayZ use or control.
