  1. You don't always sit down when you log out, sometimes the char even switches between prone and standing up. The way you can see if someone is logging out is if they keep facing the same direction, without mouse input the char just faces the same direction all the time. If the guy was in game he would be more animated while trying to see where you are.
  2. prepair to war! haha that's my new thing i say :-P it's orsum
  3. what is wrong with your gfx dude?
  4. yeah also happened to me and a friend in black forest in the middle of nowhere, 7 zombies mobbed us right after a server restart so we know nobody pulled them, they spawned there, on stable.

This is why we should use ArmA III's Engine.

you guys know that parts of the arma 3 engine is in the game right? You also know that Dean Hall was a gameplay designer on Arma III right? What ever parts of the Arma III engine wasn't incorporated into the DayZ engine obviously didn't fit their pipeline or vision. Arma III is great and the greatest thing about it isn't the graphics or the optimisation (allthough it is great) it is the stance adjust function, if we can have that in DayZ it would be incredible. But i'm glad they didn't use the Arma III engine because a lot of things they did from scratch in the DayZ engine, which wouldn't be possible if they just modded the Arma III engine. If you want to know more about these things you should watch dev streams and read interviews.
  6. Well what I heard him say is that helo's will be based off the Take on Helicopters Engine and they will be much harder to maintain and fly than in the mod, reducing some of the op'nes inherent in getting one. I even bought Take On Helicopters to start practicing for when the helo's are introduced much later. So if you can link what you are talking about that would be great. Here is a link validating what i'm saying: http://www.dayztv.com/standalone/dayz-standalone-confirmed-features/ let's stop feeding the rumour mill, if you can confirm what you are saying by posting an interview with the dev or official communication then do it, if you can't; keep it to yourself please.
  7. have you actually read the whole thread? Everyone has given there two cents, i posted two pages back, but he just keeps arguing back, so all you can do is ignore him, and what is the reason you are posting? Just to have an antagonising tone and show everyone how tough you are behind a keyboard?
  8. lol i'm just gonna ignore this guy, eventually he'll go away when he realises no one cares and he'll go back to playing cod or farmville or whatever game isn't flawed at the core whatever the fuck that means.
  9. I have lots of fun playing it, the experience is it's own reward, if you can't find the fun in the game and need some more main stream mechanics to make the game fun then there are literaly thousands of other games that you can play instead. I get what you are saying, the game on paper shouldn't be fun, but that isn't the reality that we experience. Players are always looking for a more hardcore experience, I take games such as Arma, S.t.a.l.k.e.r. and Dark Souls as an example. Yes it is a niche market but it is a big one and a constantly growing one. Maybe the problem is that you don't like the game and that is fine, there are other games you can play. But saying it is a crappy game and it will always be a crappy game is unfair because lots of us are enjoying it even in this barebone alpha phase. If they keep the current direction it will only get better for us, not for you and that is just the way the bread is buttered my friend. Also saying the premise of the game is flawed is clearly wrong because it is the premise of the game that attracted us in the first place.

this video isn't very good, it's long, not well put together and not much happens, but you can watch it if you want to.
  13. man i've said this so many times on here, it's about the approach. This game is like chess, your goal is to have the upper hand, if you don't have the upperhand then retreat and avoid contact. It's constant damage control and error correcting. Your first mistake is to want to help people, this is the wasteland people must help themselves. Not shooting at them is all the help they need. Secondly if someone who is armed knows you are there you only approach them as a last resort, the element of suprise is the biggest advantage in this game. Even when unarmed talking to someone from an unknown vantage point is a huge psycological advantage. Thirdly you must assume that everyone wants to kill you. Incase of your story you patched that guy up and forgot about him, that is a fatal error. You must assume that you are always a target, you should have kept eyes on him and not given him the advatage of suprise. In terms of chess he kept your eyes focused on the left of the board while moving his queen up the right. To sum up, don't help people unless they ask for help, always strive to have the upper hand when interacting with people if you don't have the upper hand then gtfo, and don't loose focus or control of the situation. If you do this you can be friendly without dying. Being 'friendly' (by this i mean not KOS'ing) is the hard path, it's like playing the game on insane difficulty. If this is too much for you, then change to easy (be a crappy KOS'er). But that means you lost and the 'bad guys' won.
  14. No thanks, a skill tree will destroy the experience.

Relog timer has to be reworked

as for the goose so for the gander. If they make this system too complex we will have a mountain of bugs, it is small price to pay to have a little inconveniance knowing that it makes the game fairer. I'm not saying that the system is perfect or it doesn't need improving, I'm saying that making it more complex will introduce new problems and exploits. They need to keep it simple and if it punishes legit players then fine, I can live with that, it is a sacrifice I'm willing to make in the interest of fair play.
