So I read that people don't like FrankieonPC the youtuber for DayZ
WastedSpaceman replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
Whether he does or not...I don't care. I love his videos and think the man is hilarious. He and Jack are the reason I bought DayZ SA, and I watch his videos for entertainment value. They entertain me, therefore I support him until it can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt that there is foul play involved. Glitches happen and they aren't always reproducible. -
Lets make it a little easier for the Devs

I voted for loot respawning because I feel that it would also reduce server hopping a bit, and possibly alleviate KoS slightly by allowing people to spread out a bit more instead of always congregating at Balota. My 2nd choice would have been improved zombie pathing because I'm tired of getting aggro while looting a house and seeing the infamous floor-zombie materialize in the room. -
Nice info CodeX. That's a really good compilation and I'd love to see that stuff in the game as well. You definitely know your stuff. gibonez I am curious to see a ballistic gel test of that round, or a picture of what's left after shooting a possum or something similar with that ammo. I'd imagine it would be a little messy. I've never shot CHP before.

An Issue with the New Spawns AKA "The Kamyshovo Massacre"
WastedSpaceman replied to wgaf's topic in General Discussion
These guys server hop and kill fresh spawns. The "new spawn rescue squads" server hop and kill the guys that server hop and kill fresh spawns. Are your dense? "Peace." You're a real e-thug, Chauz. I mean that literally. You're amazing at RP'ing a fanboy that's incapable of critical thinking. -
I want to make a couple points, because I managed to read through this garbage until around page 7 and decided to stop because I only saw about 3 people who knew what they were talking about: - 22lr is for small animals and target shooting because the rounds are so relatively inexpensive. It is not a self defense round. - The cranial plates are incredibly resilient. A 22lr would barely penetrate, and if it did, it would only be able to do so at very particular angles and locations. - The 22lr does not "bounce around" inside someone. The thoracic area inside a human is not one giant pleural cavity. A projectile traveling through ballistics gel shows the approximated terminal distance the projectile will travel from entry to dead stop. Since very few of you seem to have even a fundamental concept of human anatomy, I'll break this down: the projectile will be traveling through solid organs (with small exceptions such as the stomach) for the duration of its journey through the thoracic region. The projectile would also lose a tremendous amount of kinetic energy every time something altered its direction, and thus, velocity. - The people here who don't know what they are talking about are the idiots who have this obsession with the notion that "headshots are lethal." Nothing could be further from the truth, and to subscribe to that belief indicates that your knowledge comes exclusively from videogames and movies, in which case shut up and listen to those of us who know what we are talking about. There is so much garbage in this thread, it's nauseating. Personally, I hope that an accurate ballistic representation of a 22lr is added to the game. 22lr is incredibly fun to shoot, because you can shoot it so much without hurting your wallet, but it is a last resort calibre for combat situations, particularly in a civilian environment. It would primarily be used for hunting small mammals. You can say "well this group or that group use it," but I'm fairly sure that we don't spawn in DayZ as world class marksman who find $3,000 rifles with a $2,000 scope laying in someone's master bedroom, so your argument is completely irrelevant. Just as I would grab my M&P40 or 1911 over my friends P238, I would grab a .308 or 5.56 over a .22 any day. It is not a matter of opinion: .22 is not a powerful round. Here's a good chart for enthusiasts who may not be very familiar with the .22lr http://www.gunsmoke.com/guns/1022/images/22_subsonic_table.gif There are charts and tables for almost every calibre known to man, so go do some comparisons if you want to see the deficiency of this small varmint round in defense applications.

Application submitted. Talk to you folks tomorrow hopefully. Will keep an eye on the inbox. Have a great night and Happy New Year. -
Not only that, but as the video points out, a subsonic load would not cycle the bolt in a standard .223 semi-automatic rifle. You would need a specially designed weapon for the particular load you're using. This would effectively turn your M4 into a worthless piece of shit. I disagree with your statements about the ballistic effect of the .223 round on targets, however. There are many factors to take into account, including but not limited to the twist ratio of the barrel from which they are fired. Not all .223 tumble on impact and there are many types of rounds available. I believe fatal wounds would still be inflicted at close to medium range.

Yesterday I found roughly 1 Mosin, 5 M4s, 8 FNX 45s, and about 40 .357 revolvers. As for mags for the FNX 45, I tend to find them in abundance at the NWA. I hopped a few times last night (maybe 4 or 5 times) and ended up with 3 mags, I believe. I'm sure I missed some, too, because all the servers were night time so I could barely see.

Playing on an empty server immediately after it resets doesn't make you any different from the rest of us. You're not as righteous as you seem to think you are. -
Magnum/Revolver jammed? Loaded and doesn't fire
WastedSpaceman replied to kayotte's topic in General Discussion
Worked fine for me last night. I dispatched every zed I came across with the magnum, reloading it a total of 4 or 5 times. It never malfunctioned. -
Second'd.

Yeah. I had to kill some poor schmuck that I was holding at gun point because he accidentally pointed his empty magnum at me while "showing" it to me. I was able to casually go through his things and the body was still there for quite awhile.

To those who complain about spawn killers.
WastedSpaceman replied to EastwoodHD's topic in General Discussion
Who the hell cares if you die when you first spawn? Just respawn, and you lost about 3 minutes of time. Big deal. Besides, it isn't "griefing" unless you are dying repeatedly to the same player or same group of players. Being killed once does not constitute griefing. 'nough said. -
No, it isn't. You know absolutely nothing about guns.
