    Still crashing for me ... I can't get more than 10 or 15 minutes of play and BOOM.

    I also had several crashes (both DayZ and Steam at the same time) and I was able to update Steam to Beta and it appears to be fine... will report if it happens again.

    I wish that more significant changes were being pushed out. We are still battling lag, collision issues and poor hit detection. When I see how quickly other alpha games are getting updates (7 Days to Die), I just keep crossing my fingers that DayZ will get more frequent and better updates.

  7. I hate the new super-fast zombies... it's a mistake to include them when the engine has such a clunky melee system with god awful hit detection - not to mention the lag/desync issues... As I sprinted away from several zombies yesterday, I looked back to see the female zombie hitting me from 20 feet back while running. shitty, shitty, shitty.

    The new update is amazing!

    I haven't played for a few weeks, since every time I try there's massive lag, desync, "session lost", crash to desktops... I rage quit within minutes. Looks like I'll just sit tight until some of these issues are ironed out.

    Basements?

    Adding basements could easily add more space to search/hide without taking up more space on the map. I'd love to see this, even if it's only in certain structures.

    I haven't found any loot in apartment buildings, so I stopped looking. Have these always contained loot spawn points?

    I hope that means no more zombies walking through walls. :) Invisible players and zombies is a deal breaker... I hope they fix that soon.

    The chances of getting shot or poisoned are a lot higher than getting robbed and let loose at the moment, so if you run/fight, you still have a better chance to survive. Waiting for someone to do a social experiment on youtube to confirm... ;)

    Either run or fight - don't ever surrender or you're gonna die guaranteed. At least running/fighting gets you a 50/50 chance of survival.

    Exactly... once stamina, more zombies, a weather system which affects the player and other balances are in place, going from one end of the map to the other will be far more time consuming than it is now.

  23. Low pop servers should spawn next to no loot - that's how you deter people from server hopping. If a server starts with a high pop and it dwindles down, loot should start to "decay" and disappear until the server starts filling again.

    You could have taken the mosin while the m4 was on your back... it would be a pain in the ass though, since interacting with other stuff would mean that you drop the mosin every time and would have to pick it up often (and risk losing it in a server reset if it's not in your hands). As for whether you were justified, that's totally your call.
