Lag as in latency, or lag as in choppiness? If you have a slow internet connection, it could explain latency issues when you are using voip, since you are sending more packets to transmit your voice. if it's choppiness, there could very well be a bug someone, but it's best to report to the bug tracker if you believe it's an issue that's not related to your internet connection.

That's not true at all. Dean said very recently that companies like AMD and Nvidia have been providing them with data to help optimize the client side - we should expect significant improvements when that starts happening. I believe he said that the on-board Intel graphics chips have been seeing jumps of over 50% in performance.

Nothing to be proud of and it's slightly psychopathic... -
Rocket, please DO NOT remove slow vault animation.
InvisiMan2013 replied to combatcomm1's topic in General Discussion
Perhaps they shouldn't remove the slow vault entirely, but having an option to quickly climb over a fence when you aren't running is a good idea. Maybe with a combination keybind, like what is used to walk/run. -

I was one of their beta testers... bought the game and then received a "thank you" package from Novalogic with a t-shirt and an extra copy. Loved that game and the beta process. I need to try it again just for shits and giggles :P

I believe that's the system that was implemented in an older (great) game Joint Operations:Typhoon Rising. It actually accomplished what it was intended to, but looked a little strange to have "invisible grass" concealing players at a distance. I personally wouldn't mind seeing something similar in DayZ, considering how important being stealthy is.

How do you hold so many weapons Mr. Dead Guy?
InvisiMan2013 replied to Irish.'s topic in General Discussion
You can hold a larger weapon in your hands while another is on your back, but if you interact with anything (eating, bandaging, etc.) you'll drop the one in your hands and you constantly have to manage that... I often carry two guns and run around looking for someone to take one off my hands. LOL -
I've seen players names when they use voip while waiting for a server to fully load. I WISH they had something like that so you can easily identify (and mute) assholes who blast music through the direct com.

I have this one in real life... if they added it to the game, I'd feel as if I were cheating, since one multi-tool takes up minimal space and replaces many of the in-game items.

Broke my legs, had an axe and forest around me... no sticks...
InvisiMan2013 posted a topic in General Discussion
I broke my legs yesterday - spent over an hour crawling to the nearest town to find sticks and couldn't find any. There were trees everywhere and an axe on my back and I was looking for sticks in houses.... <_< Will there be a point in the game when we'll be able to make use of the trees? Crawling around forever or killing yourself don't seem like great options when your legs are broken. -

From my OP: "Will there be a point in the game when we'll be able to make use of the trees?" This type of question wouldn't belong in the suggestions forum. I'm done with the thread. No point of being bashed and I'd hate to offend anyone else by posting again in these forums. -

I don't get this community sometimes... I have to be crucified for bringing up a fundamental design flaw. For what it's worth, I was just north east of Kamyshovo, coming off the coast. Since most of the buildings in Kamyshovo don't spawn anything, and sticks weren't found. Sorry for not being a perfect player with luck level 9000! -

So without a map, you'd be ok crawling around the map for many hours to <maybe> find sticks? I WAS IN A GODDAMN FOREST! :o -

Thanks guys... that character is already dead after a "friendly stranger" decided to take my generous offer of food and a weapon by shooting me in the face... :( Better than broken legs I guess... :D -

<facepalm> I was in a forest with an axe and couldn't find sticks... if you don't understand the irony or appreciate that this is a problem, then sorry to pester you. <double facepalm> If you break your legs in the forest (in my case, it was a glitch), how the fuck do you expect me to "run north" and find supplies? Specifically sticks that were surrounding me in the forest... <_< -

InvisiMan2013 replied to InvisiMan2013's topic in General Discussion
Except that sticks take up a lot of room (not to mention they are difficult to find), so unless you have a backpack, you can't really lug them around - especially when you are a newish spawn. The axe, on the other hand, can be put on your back, so it takes up no inventory space. I think once resource gathering is implemented, this won't be an issue anymore. -

No, I didn't expect to go logging after breaking my legs, but I certainly would have liked to have been able to get sticks or even to break apart a chair in those said houses I searched in... -
When this is available in the game, I'll have no need for a backpack. :D

Persistent Container AKA Tents? coming next update

Stuff doesn't just vanish when you die. I think items "in storage" should degrade over time, so you aren't constantly stocking pristine items indefinitely. -
Cowboy hats - an invitation to shoot on sight?
InvisiMan2013 replied to rickyriot's topic in General Discussion
I've been wearing a cowboy hat as part of my friendly clothes... I figure since it offers no real protection, it shows that I'm not looking for a fight. -
My last good deed was giving a random player my mosin + ammo. I'm thinking of making care packages with a small backpack containing stuff in it, but I'd likely need the 35 slot bag in order to hold another bag + stuff for myself.

Pending Changelog: Experimental branch: 0.34.XXXXX
InvisiMan2013 replied to rocket's topic in News & Announcements
The 0.36 experimental build has re-introduced rubber banding for me and a decrease in frame rates. I'm also getting some really annoying delays when dropping items, emptying ammo (sometime the ammo disappears completely). I also notice big delays when switching weapons or doing gestures (2-3 seconds) which causes me to click on buttons multiple times in order to get it to work. I'd like to see a changelog for 0.36. There's way too many new problems for me to try and figure out the stuff that was fixed or added. -
Hotfix changelog: Stable Branch: 0.35.115188
InvisiMan2013 replied to mattlightfoot's topic in News & Announcements
20+ FPS? Those improvements you speak of haven't even been implemented yet, so I'm guessing placebo. I record my framerate, memory usage and GPU usage everytime I play and I've seen a decrease of about 2-4fps with an average being around 20. If you did get a jump in performance, I'm willing to say that your settings were reset on the update and they are different from what you had before. -
Anyone use Shadowplay to record their dayz action?
InvisiMan2013 replied to Johnny Depth's topic in General Discussion
Shadowplay is always recording, even if it's not saving, but it records to the location of the temp directory. If this directory is on an SSD drive, then you are putting way too many write-cycles on the drive, which will shorten the life of that drive. My primary HD is my SSD, but I record to a regular HD on my laptop. I mentioned previously that MSI Afterburner has a similar "shadowplay" pre-record feature, but it buffers to ram instead of the HD (you can set it for either way). This prevents the wear on the SSD drive, but I find it more unstable.
