    Can't Sprint

If you only have one main weapon, you can just put it away and repeatedly take your melee weapon and put it away to run up hills without zigzagging

1st person vs 3rd person melee

The only difference between giving headshots in first person, compared to doing the same in third person is how high you must aim to hit the head properly. In first person you can just aim at the very top of the head, while in third person you must hit about 1 or 2 feet above the target depending on the angle of attack. Generally the closer you are to the zombie, the higher the attack will hit. Learning to do it in third person gives a distinct advantage because it allows you to get a better overiew of the situation, increasing the chances to dodge any counter attacks. It isn't as difficult as people may think, and from my own experience I can consistently deliver headshots in third person even when the zombie is moving around.
  3. Currently 50 of those 100 players are probably just PvPing in Berezino. If they want proper 100 player servers, then they first have to encourage people to visit the smaller towns land inwards.

1 bullet = everything in backpack destroyed!

What always amazes me is how a couple of bullets can make any clothing item go from pristine to ruined. Because ruined implies you can't repair it with a sewing kit anymore. But a few bullet holes shouldn't be too hard to patch now should they? It's also weird how every item in your clothes is usually ruined when your clothing is ruined as well.
  5. “DayZ Early Access is your chance to experience DayZ as it evolves throughout its development process. Be aware that our Early Access offer is a representation of our core pillars, and the framework we have created around them. It is a work in progress and therefore contains a variety of bugs. We strongly advise you not to buy and play the game at this stage unless you clearly understand what Early Access means and are interested in participating in the ongoing development cycle.” The development of a game is aimed towards the final product, it's not aimed at completing certain features for the sake of the players, when the point of incomplete features is to test them first.

    Tactical Position Berenzino

If they are on the roof of the appartments, you can snipe them from pretty much any part in Berezino especially the woods in the northwest part, which is roughly 500 meters. There are appartments on the southside of Berezino you can countersnipe on, and it's roughly 700-800 meters to those flats. It's a pretty hard shot, but they'll never know what hit them. Then there's the docks that are roughly 600-650 meters. And of course there's the industrial site at about 200-300 meters from the appartments. There's a route into Berezino that I won't disclose that closely follows the blindspots that the appartments have. It's entirely possible to reach the appartments without anyone seeing you. Once inside take your time and start messing with them, lure them into coming to you. Constantly let them know you're close to them, but out of sight. You want to make them so paranoid that they can't really snipe anymore.

    Bandits ruin this game

Getting a gun(SKS or better), ammo, backpack, mostly green clothes and some basic supplies such as food, bandages and binoculars. Within the 30 minutes to an hour, it's usually military gear. We are familiar with a wide variety of locations for different types of loot and plan our routes efficiently. We always first go for a "loot run" before we head back to the coast to interact with players. Where one player wouldn't succeed, we clear entire villages in a group.

You are fully geared, would you shoot these people?

The OP didn't specify what the behaviour was of the players in question. But generally speaking, whenever there's a danger of somebody pointing a gun at me, I will shoot without hesitation. I will also shoot if it means that I can acquire better gear. Yet I don't always shoot people, I interact with them depending on the situation. There's no reason for keeping players who pose a potential danger to you alive. The game simply doesn't motivate you enough to play as a hero. I'd rather adapt to the meta, rather than be victim of said meta.

    Bandits ruin this game

You're doing something wrong. We usually end up being fairly geared within 15 minutes of playing.

    Massive Issue

So has anyone found a reason or a solution yet?
  11. When all things fail, you could always catch some rain in your bottle whenever it is raining. It is a pain in the ass, but it can save you from dehydration.
  12. Globalized loot in combination with loot respawn does two things really, 1. Servers don't have to restart in order to refresh the loot. Which means people can't just server hop after a server restart. They could still do it, but their chances of finding items decreases tremendously. 2. Rare items are limited on a hive level, which means that even if you manage to get to a high-loot area, you may still not find what you are looking for as most of the rare items are already in the hands of the player who was lucky enough to find the item.

    Massive Issue

The newest patch has introduced this very issue for me as well. Note that no other game, even games that flood my router for requests produce similar issues. My downloadrate isn't affected either. One weird thing about it is that while I am having trouble receiving packets, I have no problem sending them. My friend can see what I do ingame perfectly at all times. The question here is, why would something like a firewall or router interfere where it previously did not or atleast in a radically different way? I though the whole purpose of the guaranteed messaging system was to reduce the amount of information sent between client and server. So the router being flooded even worse than before doesn't make much sense to me. A router issue is possible I suppose, because for some reason whenever this happens, and I leave a server. All the servers in the list are atleast 100 ping higher than they normally are for a short period of time. If you're wondering about my connection: 90/9 Mbit cable.
  14. Possibly encourage trading or banditry, when one guy has some rare loot. You may try and KOS him, but at the same time it would risk damaging the rare item you're after. Currently nothing is really all that rare, or you can just server skip to get what you want. Which won't be possible then.
  15. Why does everyone forget that globalized loot is coming, and that it will likely change the entire experience of the game.
  16. Ghostflux

    How valid is this?

I'm kind of hoping that reporting servers will become a bit easier. There are plenty of "do not join" or "only PvE" servers that really have no place in DayZ. I honestly wish that they'd be removed from the public server list. Because right now I can't really trust any server except official ones.

    whats the strongest melee

I can pretty consistently hit zombies with a headshot, within 1 to 3 hits with the fireaxe. However until I make that headshot I am pretty vulnerable to the zombie counterattacking. With a combat knife on the other hand, it takes about 3-4 headshots, but they are far easier to make and it knocks down the zombie constantly. So while the combat knife is far safer, it does take much longer.

    save zeds!

Don't bother with the machete, learn to one hit zombies with the fireaxe, it's much much faster.
  19. Ghostflux

    save zeds!

With all the desyncing that the guaranteed messaging system brought. The zombies are now more dangerous awfully annoying than ever. You sometimes get teleported straight infront of a zombie. One hit and you either are bleeding, or it ruins your pants. I'd rather have them weak and useless until they manage to fix basic issues such as wallclipping and desyncing. I do like the idea of zombies requiring headshots to kill, when the game is actually somewhat stable.
  20. What most people seem to forget is that they've put a lot of research into Chernarus to make it feel authentic. Polluting the map with buildings that really don't belong there break the immersion. Which is why the mod often felt a little incoherent. Although I'm all for adding new eyecatching authentic objects in the game. Quite honestly, I wish they had a little more vast wilderness with things to do there that don't require buildings. For example, spawning certain animals that drop rare meat or fur to make clothes of.
  21. One possible reason for the new towns in the north is to motivate people to actually play in the northern areas of the map. Before the addition of Svetlojarsk, people hardly went beyond NE Airfield.
  22. It might be a placebo, but I always put a helmet in my pants, so that my pants take longer to get ruined. Because once your gear is ruined, it doesn't protect you from hits anymore.

Game strives for realism; fists better than an axe

I think the chance to knock somebody out with fists should be heavily reduced. It doesn't make sense for new spawns to rush towards geared players with their fists up, knowing that there's a large chance that they'll actually win the fight even if the other guy is armed. Instead I would rather see the effectiveness of blunt weapons such as the wrench be able to grant to quick knock out that new players want. In the mean time I'll just keep shooting any new spawn that comes within 10 meters of me with his fists raised. Better safe than sorry.

    Berezino popularity.

Berezino is currently more popular than Elektro when it comes to PvP. We were in one of the flats near the police station the other day. It ended up in a massive shoot out of atleast 5 people trying to assault the building, we were only 2 guys but took out 4 guys. Urban combat at it's best.
