    Adding value to the character - not the gear.

    I am against some kind of "clickable" skill tree, where after X I gain Y (i.e. I kill 100 zombies, gimme 1 skill point to put into "stamina") It makes more sense that the more you use a certain skill, the more proficient you become at it. i.e. the first time you make a splint, it may be of poor quality, and it takes a long time. After the 100th splint you've made, it would take less time and be more helpful. i.e. the first time you "repair" a car, the maintenance may not last as long, but by the 100th time you do it you're doing it faster and the effect lasts longer i.e. by the time you've lives a month your stamina is less effected by carrying capacity i.e. more resistance to infection also you could have posted your opinion in one of the existing threads.

  10. I wrinkle my nose at the idea of implementing an excrement/waste mechanic. It would be a real shitty gameplay decision. I doubt you could implement this without making it stink. Surely the devs were taking this piss out of us? Can we turn this into a pun/wordplay thread?

    Great point Enforcer, perhaps I am coddled by North American hand-holding, but major highways still are numbered and there is signage. Thanks for joining the discussion :)

    Survival Shelter Crafting

    I think I missed the mark of OPs meaning. You're talking about using things like "Sticks" and maybe "Rope" to build a shelter out of natural (more or less) materials. I dig. OP, this is definitely a planned feature. Were you unaware of this, or are you simply impatient? Cheers :)
  14. melee system is a disgrace, and a rather important mechanic. As long as he acknowledges that it is abysmal, and SOMEtime before Gold release it gets fixed, Im ok with it bing on back-burner. But I mean really, Doom has a comparable melee mechanic...

  18. This topic is to discuss what priorities WE, the testers, have after the .114782 goes stable sometime in Feb. Take a look at the patch notes http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/169526-pending-changelog-experimental-branch-033114782/ to make sure you do not bring up something that is being addressed. Some of the topics which we can ignore: 1) Loot respawning- This is not happening yet. It has been stated over and over that respawning of items is too much of a strain right now, and there are bigger fish to fry. 2) Balancing the map- They are working to introduce more functionality and stability, and do not have time for trivial things like scenery/finishing touches. Personally? Zombie wall glitch- enough is enough, fix this. Hopefully this will be addressed in 114782. Try to be constructive with your comments. You can't help the devs if you don't post reasons you have an issue. Cheers!

  21. Seeing as how the only time to loot hop is immediately after a server restarts, just add a large timer to anyone who joins and leaves servers within a half-hour/hour of a server reset. If someone server hops for loot on a server that has been running for 3 hours, who the hell cares? It's more than frustrating to race back to town/base within 5 minutes of a restart only to see it bare, and all the zombies huddled together. So if someone joins a fresh server, and leaves within 5 minutes, he should have to sit and wait if he shows a pattern.

    This deals more with the issue of ghosting/combat logging than it does with server hopping for loot. So there is a 30 second delay big whoop.

    interesting point on keys taking up as much space as a compass or a pair of gloves. We could perhaps have a "misc: slot.
