I would like to see a bigger map with more places to hide camps, I only use tents as decoys as they are to easy to find. Barrels are my preferred storage option as they are easier to hide. I also spread them out. I was on a high pop server and some of my stashes lasted at least a month before being found. What got me was it was the more well hidden barrels that were found. You had to walk into them to find them they were not visible any other way. And I go for once a place is found it is compromised. And as I'm an inquisitive person I go most places and I do think is this a place people will go. Due to that I have found some stashes. Although after sevens comments I will have to look a bit harder to find that sweet spot :)

Yep they need to do something about base building tents stick out a mile even the mil one. I tend to use barrels scattered around the map and even they get found quit regularly. Dean Hall said he would like you to think about whether you would steal or not if you found some ones camp like the time he was in the army and found some ones camp and left it alone. Well I can say people in this game have no problems in stealing even if they are items you can get after a little searching. And I have to say I steal from other peoples camps as I have been stolen from so often I have no qualms in doing it.
-
Having played the game for some 1300 hrs and having set up a few small bases one of the things I have noticed is how easy they are to spot. It would be good if you could use the branches you get from trees to add some camo to the tents to break there outline and colour. The same could be said for barrels. Also may be make some parts of the forest really dense to hide things/camps in. Also bigging holes to hide barrels and cover them in branches and earth to hide them. I'm thinking they could look into this when other things are sorted within the game.

What no 1pp servers on this build?
-
Ok so guns jamming has been suggested before. But a few builds ago weapons where getting ruined after 100 rounds were fired through them so you had to use the cleaning kits to stop this. So instead of guns going from pristen down to ruined why not stages of clean to very dirty. So at very dirty your gun jams pretty constantly, any weapon cleaner than that has less of a chance of jamming, but at some point will. The only reason I say this is in real life guns in general don't get ruined. I'm not saying things on guns don't break thus making them useless, but it is not a common occurrence, dirty weapons jamming is. This would make the cleaning kits more useful and realistic. Think some one might come up to kos you and his weapon is dirty and it goes click and nothing happens you laugh and shoot him or yours goes click to and then its a knife fight lol. Any way it would make cleaning your weapon very important as it is in real life. This should be on automatics I know revolvers and bolt actions are a lot less prone to this. P.S the devs could add a very small percent chance that when firing your gun something does break thus making it useless/ ruined. And that should be a very very very small chance.

Chance of becoming Infected/Zombie (Non controllable) (Not walking dead)
fing24 replied to theswedishcathead's topic in Suggestions
I do like your Idea it makes the infected something to fear a bit more than they are now and I don't see anything in your suggestion about playing your infected character. Although I do agree that they should not let you play as an infected person. Just let your character be one more of the many infected the server controls. -
It would be nice that in the future they look at the way you get food from the land like fishing and apples for example. At the moment it is hit or miss if you get any thing. It would be good if when you see fruit on bushes or trees you can get those items. It is more whether you get ripe or rotten fruit and you see the fruit diminishing on the tree or bush. The less fruit on it the more time it takes to find something. I just don't get much fun from the randomness for finding something. It could be the same for fishing, you can see fish swimming in the water and you have to cast in the right place and hook them at the right time to get them. I did get board after 5 mins of fishing looking at a blank patch of water and getting messages about whether a fish was close or not. You could also make it that you have a float that bobs around and when the fish takes the bait it goes under the water and you have to hook it just at that moment. Don't get me wrong I don't mind things taking time I just don't like the message thing when fishing. And the fruit thing on trees for me if you see it you can get it. So make the fruit bearing trees more random if they have any fruit on them that you can pick, not every one looks like it has fruit and it is random whether you get it or not
-
I Like your ideas and I think they would make for a better game play experience. The message would work for the person who has stopped the other from spawning in at your exit position from thier last session. And for the person spawning in they do not require a message as they will know some one is close as they have moved from there original log out position. The person coming in who has been moved should always come back in to the game in cover. This way both parties have a better chance to avoid each other if they want, but if they want to hunt each other down they will still have to find each other as neither party will know the exact location of the other person only that they are close at that point in time. It will be either shoot or scoot time.

I have yet to find a none looted military base. That only happened for me on the last complete server restart. With the new loot spawn rules all the places that have those items are looted to hell by now. Although you do find the odd bit of good kit now and again in one. That is my experience on the servers I go on any way. I don't necessarily think that is a bad thing, but it would be nice to find the loose ammo in other places as well that is all.
-
I have been able to get ammo, but it would be nice to see the 5.56, 7.62x39, .45 and 9mm spawn in other buildings other than police stations and military bases. I find lots of shot gun shells, 7.62x51 and .380 outside of these areas. It would be nice if some of the 7.62x51 and .380 were the other calibers. I don't want lots of ammo, but it would be nice to find it all in other places. Upshot if ammo spawns in a building it can be of any type.
-
It would be nice to get a scope for the sporter 22 as you can get them for the rifle in real life so why not in the game. The cross bow has its own scope now so please can we have one for the 22 :-).
-
Having played 0.48 It would be good for thing to degrade over time. This would refresh the map and loot a bit better. I have been in the same area 24 hours later and there are lots of the same items around. I know this for sure as I left a crossbow with a sight on it and 24 hours later its still there as well as other items that i recognized that were still in the same place. I like the idea of the OP, but the condition of the items on spawn in should be random down to badly damaged.
-
Agree that one shot does not always kill in fact most of the time you will survive one shot.
-
It would be nice to "see" large groups of zeds and a mixture of zombie speeds random or by zombie type I'm not bothered either way. It feels like the devs are trying to give the illusion of large numbers with the spawning, but the time I have spent with this system it does not feel right. I have lost count of the times I have taken 1 zed out and haven't seen any others around to then have a running battle with them as it is kill 1 spawn 2 and you see them spawn in ect. It would be good to have a general idea of what you could be letting yourself in for. You see lots of zeds you move on, you see a few you take the risk. A work in progress for the devs I think.
-
I wounder if the devs will put something in as this idea comes up on the board most of the time. I for one think some subtle skills you can gain over time through learning in a book, continued use or experience ie eating something that made you sick would not be game breaking. And like in real life you have to keep doing these practicing/using these skills to keep them at there best. If you don't then they degrade over. I don't want to see grind to the top of one skill forget that skill next one, but still be supper good at the first one for the rest of the game. This way you can be excellent at just a few things or ok at a lot of things, its your choice and you have to make a sacrifice some where along the line. No one is an expert at everything. As for exp I say no. In my opinion it has no place within this game it does not feel right.

Do you want to see persistant storage disapear with player death ?
fing24 replied to massacrorBKK's topic in Suggestions
There are good points to both sides of the suggestion. I do believe the person that died should not be able to get the loot the old character stashed, but other players should be able to access it. I do like the alternative as some people have suggested, your stashed equipment degrades over time when not interacted with. May be that timer speeds up on players demise so if they do get to their items they are in poor condition then they are required to fix them so worn is the best you have. That I think would work for both sides and I would be cool with it. -
I would agree that some pistols should come with magazines. Especial after visiting 46 police stations and not one pistol mag of any kind in one of them. Lots of pistols its a shame they are all a waste of time. I think the devs have it the wrong way round. I'm sure there are more magazines to be found in the real world than guns not the other way round as in dayz sa.

I like the Idea the op suggested. It would make you think a lot more about taking the zombies on. Do you shoot and attract more of them, do you try to stealth up and axe them with the possibility they might attack you and you might get infected. At the moment they are not a major threat. And they don't shoot guns. But if they have a small chance of infecting you you start giving them a bit more respect like when you come across another survivor with a gun. And as for implementation are they not going to bring in more things that make you ill and can kill you if you don't treat them? if they are, then it should not be that hard to make zombies give you an infection. And we are survivors who said we were immune? we might not have been hit by a zed yet.
-
I had the sort of experience you are trying to implement. I got shot, but not killed. I came out of unconsciousness to find some of my kit looted. I could see the person who had shot me so I moved around to let them know I was still alive, shot again. I'm still alive and come out of unconsciousness and I move around again. Last shot was the fatal one. I here over my headset laughing and the comment "don't mess with us". As much as a like your Idea you are still pixels on the screen and even with pixel gore people will still kill for fun no mater what. As for the people that say there are should be no penalty for killing I think there should, but lets make it when you die that's it game over no respawn. That's real life. Then lets see how much kos would go on then? you take a gamble every time you shoot some one. You might be the one that ends up dead not your intended victim. But seriously it is a game and may be to make kos not as prevalent, have a penalty for a time for killing a fellow pixel avatar. It would make you think a little bit more before pulling the trigger so quickly. You still can, you just get some effects for a period of time then that is gone and it's off to the next killing. It just might stop people going on a killing spree as you will have to let the effect go as you are at a slight disadvantage. But don't worry I don't think the devs will do that so let the kos remain as an integral part of the game OOOOHAHAHAHAH KILLL KILL KILL.

How about this. There are books in the game that have no use at the moment. Why not have some that you can learn us fall survival skills from? I'M NOT ADVOCATING SKILLS LIKE MMO'S AND MORROWIND AND THE LIKE. These skills you have to constantly use them to maintain them like you do in real life. If you don't use them they fade back to there lowest lvl. So yes you can spam it on your friends, but that does not mean job done move on to the next one. This would add another lvl to the game that might make you want to play it a bit longer, because at the moment once you are kited out that's it in the game nothing else to do other than PVP. Plus it might make you want to look after your avatar. As for skills yes shooting and first aid would be ones that every one would want, but what would these skills do for you? Well shooting, you learn from a book how to zero your gun, breathing and the like so know your weapons accuracy is slightly better. Then it gets more accurate every time you have a kill shot. You have the biggest increases in accuracy at the start then that increase gets smaller the more accurate you are up till you are a sniper when it comes to shooting. Also in the game you could have tools and targets to aid you in adjusting your sights making your gun more accurate quicker, but you need the shooting skill to do this no gains without it. This way you get the biggest increase in accuracy on that gun. You would have to do this for all your guns to make them that accurate. The down side to this would be the items you need to get, the waste of ammunition and you give your position away. And at the end of all this over time your gun looses its accuracy when you are not using it. So after some time you would have to re-zero them like in the real world. The other thing that could be implemented is once you gain a high enough proficiency in that skill you can than teach other people the skill, but if you are taught the skill the increases in it are not as big to start off with. Although once you get to a certain point on that skill lvl the increases are the same as if you read the book and you also can teach other people when you get to the right skill proficiency. If you drop below the teaching lvl you can then no longer teach the skill. I hope you get the idea on what I mean by skills now, because you can do similar things for first aid (eg decrease some ones healing time, slightly more blood given in a blood transfusion) and any thing else that would aid your survival within the game. They are meant to make you slightly better than a bambi, but I would not want them to make it game changing. Plus the use it or loose it means spamming it does help, but you then have to use it to maintain it or it goes back to base lvl. Lastly your skill lvl runs in the background you never know how good you are at it until you can teach it. The only thing that you do know is a box telling you what skills you have learnt and what they do for you.
-
I like the Idea of skills that enhance the game and make you want to look after your character. But I agree that you can't grind them to max and stay there job done. Make them like real life you have to constantly work at them to keep them at peak performance. If you don't use it, it degrades over time. So yes you shoot 100 times and can hit the butt of a gnat, but once you are there you have to maintain it if you don't shoot for a while the skill has diminished and you have to practice again to get it back. And make the lvl run in the background like hydration and energy and bright green your some where at the top lvl, red not very good, but better than some one with out the skill. Then its up to you how much effort you put in it to maintain your skill. It could have a down side like for shooting you will have to use up some of your ammunition, could give your position away and might attract zeds.

Its not just the gtx 250, having the same problem with my gtx 650 since the last update and I have the latest NVidia drivers. It had never happened before this last update and I had played for 150 hrs and no crash to desktop. It is a random event for me. I can play for 3 hrs and nothing other times it can crash after 10 mins.

Like all things it is lack of communication. We report the bugs and some are big ones yet after a few updates they are still there. We don't know if they are fixing it or ignoring it for the moment. I except there are going to be bugs in the game I have no problem with that, but it would be nice to see more of them being ironed out so when things are added later it might be easier for them to fix things. The game was very good at the start and had the odd few issues, but as time has gone by more bugs are creeping in and it seams that only a few are being fixed. Take loot spawns at the military camps, they know about it, but have not fixed it as of yet.

I love this topic. I can see both sides of the argument. I like the freedom the game gives you which people want, and it is a game, but in real life when you are killed you don't come back to loot again which is the problem with a game. It would not be very good if the game ended when you died, but think how much more carefully you would play if that was the situation. Would you want to get into a fire fight with some when you have a 50/50 chance of being killed your self for the food. Co-operation or avoidance would work better for you in that situation than trying to KoS and you coming off worse may be. There is a balance to be had within the game. At the moment the fun is shooting other players as there is nothing else to do and there is no consequence for your action. That is one of the biggest problem at the moment with the game. It is not a survival game it is BF/CoD with a few zeds to get in the way. It might be a lot better when the zeds are much more dangerous and you don't want their attention and subsequent death which shooting would have a good chance of doing. Firing you gun should be the last resort, do or die situation. We will see how the game develops over time. Although they are in danger of making it more BF/CoD than a survival game if KoS stays at its current levels. If I wanted a first person shooter I would have bought Cod/BF.

I'm obviously to nice for this game I'm mostly friendly and pay the price for it. I have only KOSed the once when I was in the ATC tower at the NW airfield. Coming down the stairs I come a cross another player. Having been KOSed lots by this point the first thing I do is open up on this poor player. He tries to run, but I follow him and kill him. He did get 26 rounds in his direction lol. I did feel a little guilty after as he might have been friendly. Other people kosing you makes you do it back at some point. In all the time I have played I have only met 2 people that have not killed me on sight. All the rest have shot first and haven't even asked questions afterwards :( . I did have a funny moment at Krasnostav. Been shot in the back at the ATC tower wake up with the shooter looking at me. I don't move to see if he starts to loot me, but after a bit of time of him looking at me and no looting I log out. I come back in and have the fuzzy screen telling me I'm not to healthy. I do some looting get some food and start to heal. At this point I'm in Krasnostav, still groggy I see something running towards me. I think Zed and shoot and miss to here friendly don't shoot so I stop as I don't want to kill any one and I apologise for the shoting and he seems ok about this and say he thought I was his friend. Every thing is fine at this point. I turn round to face him as he has gone behind me and there he is with his mate. We have those few seconds of looking at each other his mate then gets his gun out and shoots me. I go unconscious then wake up with some of my gear gone. As an experiment I move and get shot again for moving. Go unconscious again for a few secs wake up with even less items on me now. I think they might let me live as I'm no threat to them so to see if they have any humanity in them I move again so they can see that I'm still alive, my arms are in the position for holding a rifle, but It is gone so it looks to me like I'm pleading to them to let me live. Do I hear them walking off to leave me to my fate, no just that last final shot and the shooter saying "don't mess with us". Ahh would he have found it so funny the other way round would I have let him live? It does make me laugh on the boards when I see people saying this is what they would do if there was a real zombie apocalypse, that they would kos another person for their food and gear. I think that would be the last thing they would do as you would want some one to watch their back as the zed threat would be far greater than any threat that person might be. and if you have been scavenging and avoiding zeds on your own for some time you would welcome the company. I'm not saying you wouldn't be wary but cooperation with another human is going to make both your lives easier and your chances of survival have dramatically increased. Ahh well let them live in their dream world.
